Summary
The following section includes some of the advertisements I have created
for my current employer in the past 12+ months. All content, artwork
and photography layout are original designs created with Microsoft
Publisher and GIMP. These advertisements were created for print
use in publications directed at very small target markets. Publications
the ads were featured in include 417 Magazine, a Southwest Missouri
lifestyle magazine, the US Electrical Union Directory and the Greene
County Medical Society Journal. Ads were also created for one-time
events such as the annual Springfield Law Day and Jackson Day.

Summary

DOWNTOWN FAVORITE EBBETS FIELD TO REMAIN OPEN

Springfield, Missouri- Ebbets Field at 1027 East Walnut, a landmark restaurant in downtown
Springfield for more than 30 years, will continue to be open for business and ready to serve its
customers and loyal patrons. Ebbets Field has been a downtown gathering place since 1981.

The managers and staff at our Ebbets Field Walnut location eagerly await the opportunity to
continue to serve our customers and carry on the tradition of this iconic restaurant. We will
continue the same menu and customs of Ebbets Field.

Pub Management, LLC has entered into an agreement to manage and purchase the Ebbets Field
restaurant and are excited to continue the Ebbets Field business. We are appreciative of the
community’s support and look forward to carrying on the long tradition of Ebbets Field on
Walnut Street.

The closing of the Ebbets Field South restaurant at 3662 South Glenstone Avenue and
reorganization of the Ebbets Field, LLC operating company is necessary because of financial

EMILY CARLSTROM JOINS BAIRD, LIGHTNER, MILLSAP & HARPOOL P.C.

Emily Carlstrom. Ms. Carlstrom joins the firm from the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office,
where she practiced for five years. Ms. Carlstrom was also previously employed with the Missouri
Attorney General’s Office. Her work with the law firm will focus on general and civil litigation, insurance
defense and civil rights.

Ms. Carlstrom graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and received her

Web Site Management

Summary
In my current position I am solely responsible for the upkeep and
maintenance of the law firm’s website, http://www.blmhpc.com. I did
not know much about web design before this position but in the past
few months have taught myself HTML code well enough to be able to
update the website on a regular basis adding content and web pages,
new links, photographs and graphics. Included are screen snapshots
of the website, including pages I have created or pages with content
I regularly update. I monitor the website’s health and rankings using
Google Analytics. With the program I monitor incoming links and
visitors, how visitors were referred to or found the website and what
web pages are most frequently visited, among many other measurable
metrics. I also monitor the website’s health, fixing broken links and
deleting erroneous re-directs. I have also done SEO work with the
website, optimizing title tags, page headers and content for improved
search rankings.

Summary
Part of any marketing position includes project planning and analysis.
Included are few brief samples of agendas from marketing meetings I
held with the firm partners and analysis of marketing services we pay
for, to determine the ROI and if the products is valuable enough for
continued use. I also included a tutorial I created for some of the less
technologically-savvy attorneys to explain LinkedIn and its use.

Website: We have the option to keep Diem Design on retainer for a fixed monthly cost. Option quoted
was $500/month for 10hrs of work monthly, $6000 annual fee. I’m not sure this is cost-effective; I’ll
keep looking into it.

Online Ads: Do we want to run any online ads? Ie Banner ads on sbj.net, Google, 417mag.com, etc.

Print Ads: Options I’m looking into are: 417 Mag, SBJ, Greene County Medical Society, Junior League
Member Newletter. Any other suggestions?

TV: Outside of the tv ads that go along with the MoState Basketball poster do we want to pursue this?
At this time and for the short term (next 6-8months) I would recommend no.

Listings: Aside from our listing in A.M. Best, I haven’t been able to find any other similar services that
would be worthwhile. Any suggestions?

Print Materials: I’m working on a tri-fold brochure for the firm for informational/advertising purposes,
(see attached) and also 1pg “resumes” for all the attorneys to include as promo materials.

 Any interest in mailing something to past/current/potential clients, like a postcard size ad? Or a
letter?

Community Involvement: We have attorneys involved with Springfield Workshop, Boys & Girls Town,
Junior League. Are these organizations we want to focus our support for?

LinkedIn is a social networking site for professionals with over 116 million users and one person joining a
second. It is where you can post and find jobs, answer questions, build your reputation as an expert on
a topic, search for and connect to people you want to meet, ask advice from, or do business with.
You’re not going to see pictures of friend’s dogs, funny stories about the weekend, etc. It is geared
towards connecting with other professionals in your community, profession, and reaching out to people
you want to know.

LN (LinkedIn) is a great way to build your online reputation, which is just as important as your real-life
reputation. The first place someone goes to find out information on you, your practice, and your
company is the internet. LN builds your online reputation and credibility because it is an outlet to show
your accomplishments and showcase your expertise; an online portfolio of your achievements. LN is
also a good tool because of the website’s strength on Google searches. For example, if you Google Brett
Roubal, his LN profile shows up in the first page of results.

*Interacting on LN:
Adding Contacts: You can find people to connect with a number of ways. Once you’ve signed in, your
homepage will have a bar at the top listing the main areas on LN. Rolling over Contacts will show you
the drop down list and the option Add Connections. On that page you can select the options of
colleagues, alumni, and people you may know. Clicking on each tab brings up a page of people with LN
profiles who you might be interested in connecting with.

From there you can simply select who you would like to add as a contact. I suggest starting by adding
people you are familiar with, have done business with, etc. You can also add people who you aren’t
familiar with but want to get to know, but make sure you are sending a personalized invitation when

Reasons to build and grow your LinkedIn network
 You want to build an audience with whom to share your expertise.
 Just like face-to-face networking, having a network offers an opportunity to meet new
people….which could turn into……Potential business prospects, clients, or potential employers.

Social Media

Summary
The following pages are screen shots of the social media pages I maintain
as part of my current position. All are pages I created and started myself
and that I am solely responsible for. Since working for the firm I have
created their Facebook business page, a LinkedIn company profile and
our Google+ profile. I have also created and update several personal
LinkedIn profiles for attorneys at the firm. Content I post on our social
media most often includes pertinent information such as office early
closures or holidays, firm news such as new hires and press releases
and interesting and informative news from our community. Most of the
shared content on our social media profiles comes from local businesses
and non-profit organizations. I also oversee the maintenance of the
firm and attorney profiles on martindale.com and lawyers.com.
