The learners of the Primary School of Pteleos made thank you cards for Mr. Goudis who donated an English encyclopedia, two dictionaries, and a book to their school library. The donation improved the school library and allows students to find information in English. The students are already using the encyclopedia for their school newspaper.

Στο πλαίσιο του μαθήματος της Αγγλικής Γλώσσας και με αφορμή το τέλος του Κεφαλαίου 4 του βιβλίου μας, οι μικροί μαθητές και οι μαθήτριες της Γ΄ Τάξης έκαναν την υγιεινή διατροφή πράξη την Τετάρτη 11 και την Πέμπτη 12 Μαΐου 2022! Μιλώντας για τα φρούτα, τη διατροφική τους αξία και τη συχνότητα με την οποία θα πρέπει να καταναλώνονται καθημερινά τόσο από παιδιά, όσο και από ενήλικες, αναφερθήκαμε σε διαφορετικούς τρόπους με τους οποίους θα μπορούσαμε να τα εντάξουμε στο καθημερινό μας διαιτολόγιο!

Κάθε χρόνο το σχολείο μας αναπτύσσει δράσεις που ενημερώνουν και ευαισθητοποιούν τους μαθητές και τις μαθήτριές μας στον εθελοντισμό, την κοινωνική δράση και την ενεργό συμμετοχή των πολιτών. Η εβδομάδα στο σχολείο μας συνεχίζει να κινείται στους ρυθμούς του Halloween που γιορτάζεται κάθε χρόνο στις 31 Οκτωβρίου, προκειμένου να βιώσουμε την εμπειρία αυτή που αποτελεί πολιτιστικό στοιχείο της Αγγλικής Γλώσσας που μαθαίνουμε στο σχολείο μας! Από την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα τα μικρότερα παιδιά του σχολείου παρακολούθησαν μια παρουσίαση του εθίμου, τραγούδησαν, χόρεψαν, ενώ οι μαθητές της Δ’ Τάξης έπαιξαν ένα Halloween Escape Room game ομαδικά, με τη χρήση βιντεοπροβολέα, στην τάξη τους! Σήμερα, η υποδοχή στο σχολείο περιλάμβανε τη γωνιά με το εργαστήριο της μάγισσας! Μαγικά φίλτρα και παράξενα συστατικά τράβηξαν την προσοχή των παιδιών μας που διασκέδασαν ανακατεύοντας με την κουτάλα και ψάχνοντας τα υλικά για τις παράξενες συνταγές της! Την Πέμπτη 8 Φεβρουαρίου 2018, την "Τσικνοπέμπτη" δηλαδή, ο Σύλλογος Γονέων και Κηδεμόνων του Δημοτικού Σχολείου Ευξεινούπολης σε συνεργασία με το εκπαιδευτικό προσωπικό του σχολείου φρόντισε να δώσει σε όλους μας μια παραδοσιακή μυρωδιά "τσίκνας" προσφέροντας νόστιμα σουβλάκια! Οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριες της Ε΄ και ΣΤ΄ τάξης του Δημοτικού σχολείου Ευξεινούπολης επισκέφθηκαν την Τετάρτη και Πέμπτη 22-23 Νοεμβρίου 2017 το Εργαστήρι Κεραμικής στο Πολιτιστικό Κέντρο Ευξεινούπολης. Ευχαριστούμε από καρδιάς τον πρόεδρο του Πολιτιστικού Συλλόγου Ευξεινούπολης, κ.Γαλατσίδα Αλέξανδρο, που καλωσόρισε τους μαθητές και τις κυρίες της κεραμικής που έδειξαν παραστατικά στα παιδιά μας πώς κατασκευάζονται τα κεραμικά αντικείμενα και την τεχνική που ακολουθούν. Οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριές μας είχαν την ευκαιρία να δουν πώς φτιάχνονται διάφορα κεραμικά αντικείμενα, αλλά και με περισσή φαντασία και δημιουργικότητα να φτιάξουν ο κάθε ένας κι ένα δικό του, το οποίο κράτησε ως αναμνηστικό!

Flashcards in the Greek public school third grade can be used in numerous ways and they can prove to be life-saviors with early-finishers! During the lesson, we normally use them to revise the letters of the alphabet that we have already learnt and introduce the new ones, along with the new vocabulary that accompanies them! Yesterday, however, we used them to revise letters and vocabulary in a fun way! To be more precise, we divided the whiteboard in two parts. Each part had the same number of flashcards. The learners were supposed to match the picture with the word! The learner who was the first to finish correctly the matching task, won some stickers!

Την Πέμπτη 5 Οκτωβρίου 2017 πραγματοποιήθηκαν στο σχολείο μας δράσεις για την 4η Πανελλήνια Ημέρα Σχολικού Αθλητισμού που φέτος είχε ως κεντρικό σύνθημα: «ΑΘΛΟΥΜΑΙ –ΧΑΡΑΖΩ ΤΟ ΜΕΛΛΟΝ». Οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριες του σχολείου μας είχαν τη δυνατότητα να συμμετάσχουν σε οργανωμένες αθλητικές δράσεις/δραστηριότητες εντός και εκτός της σχολικής μανάδας, με υπεύθυνους σχεδιασμού τους εκπαιδευτικούς Φυσικής Αγωγής Σταυρούλα Πασχαλούδη και Λάμπρο Αγοραστό. Κατά τη διάρκεια του πρώτου διδακτικού δίωρου οι εκπαιδευτικοί των τάξεων συζήτησαν με τα παιδιά για την αξία του αθλητισμού και τα οφέλη της ένταξής του στην καθημερινότητά μας. Ενδεικτικά αναφέρεται ότι τα τμήματα της Β΄ Τάξης ασχολήθηκαν και με το θέμα της υγιεινής διατροφής, ενώ οι μαθητές του τμήματος Ε1΄ αξιοποίησαν το το Ανθολόγιο και διάβασαν την ιστορία "Ο Θωμάς". Μετά το πρώτο διάλειμμα, οι μαθητές και οι μαθήτριες του σχολείου μας, παρουσίασαν ανά τάξη αθλητικές δράσεις υπό την καθοδήγηση των γυμναστών μας. (http://blogs.sch.gr/dimefxei/)

In BC’s nearly-decade-old “new” curriculum, the curricular competencies describe the processes that students are expected to develop in areas of learning such as mathematics. They reflect the “Do” in the “Know-Do-Understand” model. Under the “Communicating” header falls the curricular competency “Explain and justify mathematical ideas and decisions.” Note that it contains two processes: “Explain mathematical ideas” and “Justify mathematical decisions.” I have broken it down into its separate parts in order to understand--or reveal--its meaning. The first part is commonplace in classrooms. By now, BC math teachers—and students—understand that “Explain mathematical ideas” means more than “Show your work.” Teachers consistently ask “What did you do?” and “How do you know?” This process is about retelling, not just of steps but of thinking. The second part happens less frequently. Think back to the last time that you observed a student make—a necessary precursor to justify—a mathematical decision. “Justify” is about defending. Like “explain,” it involves reasoning; unlike “explain,” it also involves opinion and debate. In order to reinterpret the curricular competency “Explain and justify mathematical ideas and decisions,” I will continue to take apart its constituent part “Justify mathematical decisions” and carefully examine the term “mathematical decisions.” What, exactly, is a “mathematical decision”? Below, I will categorize answers to this question. These categories, and the provided examples, may help to suggest new opportunities for students to justify.
