2. J2ME – Netbeans X.X – Frequent Errors & Their Solutions
Error: Project Creation Error – NullPointerException – Sometimes Error Says-Node.java/Tree.java or something like that
Reason: Multiple versions of Netbeans can lead to unmanaged user profile settings which stores user configurations in
XML files & those files are corrupted & you need to reset it.
Solution: Preferred that before you delete this you have taken backup of all of the content. So that you can restore if
necessary.
Remove/Delete the user settings by deleting the folder –
For Windows XP – User settings folder is – which you need to delete is,
C:Documents and Settings<Username>Local SettingsApplication DataNetbeans
For Windows 7 – User settings folder is – which you need to delete is,
C:Users<Username>AppDataRoamingNetBeans – Delete all folders in this current folder & try.
There may be 2 folders for your login i.e. <username> & <username>.Remote or something like that – you
have to check in both.
If still no success then you better uninstall all versions of Netbeans & install the latest one.
