Plot
 Exposition :
Once there were four young men who passed their
time creating the most far-fetched and incredible tales. One
day an old man who was travelling from one city to another
stopped in their village for rest and a meal. He used the quite
expensive clothes . the four young men were filled with envy
when they saw the traveler. And then they had an idea to get
his clothes. They would challenge him to a contest. Each one
would tell an improbable adventure and, if any man doubted
the truth of any story , that man would become the slave of
the storyteller. The traveler agreed with their proposal . He
finished his meal and settled down to listen to each young
man as he took his turn weaving his elaborate lie.

The third young men “ when I was one year old I was walking in
the tall grasses at the age in the village . I saw a rabbit when I
chased the creature it was not a rabbit at all but a tiger . I
explained I will not chased a tiger but this only enraged him
further. He opened his great jaws to bite me, but I caught hold of
him and broke him in two and went on my way , still looking for
a rabbit.
the last young man stori “ last year I was fishing on a nearby lake,
but I caught nothing. So I swam down for about three days until I
reached the bottom to find the cause of this problem. I found a
huge fish as big as mountain eating every fish. I killed a monster
with one blow from my fist. Then I was hungry I lit a fire and
roasted a huge beast and ate the whole thing. After a nap I floated
to the surface and went home.
The 1st young man story

the second young man “when I was a week old I walk
trough the forest. As I walked I’m hungry and I climbed
the date tree to get the fruit when I’m full I couldn’t
climbed down , I went to village and I borrowed a ladder
and bring it to the tree so I can climbed down.
The traveler began the story “He has a weird tree
at his farm, it doesn’t has leaves but it does has four
branches which has a fruit on it. When the fruit was ripe
I picked it and then a young man jumped out from each
branches. These men were legally mine because the tree
is at my property. I made them work on my farm but
they are lazy and just sit around make up fantastic story.
One day, they ran away. I am travelling all over the
countryside to find them. An finally I, now in this shop I
got them. You’re my runaway servants. Come back to me
and don’t give me any more trouble.” The four young
tricksters couldn’t say anything. The head of the village
declared the traveler to be the winner.
Falling Action :
The four young men gave all their belongings to the traveler for their
freedom.
Resolution :
The old traveler tied their belongings into a bundle, and resumed his
journey, leaving the four young men standing naked and bewildered in the
village shop.
Round Character : The traveler
 Adventurous (paragraph 1, second sentence) ,
 calm (paragraph 2, second sentence),
 wise (paragraph 4),
 smart (paragraph 9 on the climax),

Point of View :
Narrator as non participant (Limited Omniscient). The
narrator tells the story from the viewpoint of one
character in the story. That is the character the four
young man.
 Structure:
Symbol :

Beast : giant, monster (conventional)
Allusion : Plum
 Figurative:
Onomatopoeia : The beast roared
Ironic : on paragraph 10
Simile : a huge fish as big as a mountain.
Hyperbole :

 Be Knowledgeable so we can’t be fooled.
This story is included of the ancient literally
fiction, that is a tale. This story is based on the Eastern
European culture ‘Lying for a wager’, in Burma exactly. In
Indonesia there is no a wager by lying, but something
like cock fight or guessing the winner of match so the
winner of that wager can have anything what they want
or something that has decided to be a gift for the wager’s
winner.
