Monaco is a sovereign city state located on the French Riviera along the Mediterranean Sea. It has an area of only 1.98 square kilometers and its capital and largest city is Monte Carlo, which is famous for its casino. The principality is ruled by the House of Grimaldi, with Prince Albert II as the current head of state. Grace Kelly, an American actress, married Prince Rainier III in 1956 and became Princess of Monaco until her death in 1982.
