This PPT will provide you with more details about the 4 assignments making up a Risk Management Plan RMP.
Part A - “Setting The Stage” will do just that. You will identify key pieces of information required to be successful in building and implementing your plan!
The RMP Project is about learning the concepts well so that in future Crisis situations you can compress the process without missing key elements. The CSA standard is an excellent tool for learning the concepts. It is not unusual to NOT use that format in real life situations!
One of the key components is identifying ALL stakeholders for your issue. Some of these will be working with you to overcome the issue. Others may be working against you to sabotage your efforts. And finally, there will be the stakeholders who definitely want the issue resolved, but they may be so angry or upset that they distract you from accomplishing your goals.
All four parts of the RMP will build on each other to provide you with your final plan. One addition assignment will look at the media response to your plan and how you can manage that process.
(Read slide) This course and assignments are about the process, not the scientific or technical responses.
I am not looking for regurgitation of the Standard, but a demonstration of your understanding of the concepts through the development of your plan. i.e. In listing your stakeholders, if you miss most of them I will wonder if you truly understand. I would not necessarily expect anyone to identify ALL stakeholders as that is a difficult task for most larger issues.
These are the two scenarios that you get to choose between for the RMP. Your choice will be for all 4 parts of the RMP as it builds on each part to completion.
These next 2 slides cover the components of the RMP - Part “A”
Please pay attention to all Deadlines. They are critical for our process IF you want feedback at the appropriate stages. I also believe that the site may not allow you to post after the deadline without prior approval from the instructor! You may want to avoid that step!!!
Remember, if you have a question, probably others have the same question! Please post all questions on our website so that all can see the question, all may respond, and all can see all of the responses and discussions. This is an important part of your learning process!
