Reflective Essay About Love
Before I begin, love has a substantial meaning to me like the Golden Rule. As a young adult, I
thrive to change the word love. In every century, the word love is frequently overused and it is
prosaic. Over the years, I finally understood that there is no eminent word to substitute love. Trust
me, I had constantly searched across overseas on voyages with your daddy. The wordlove is the only
form of vocal expression that I can assure you my affection towards you. The word love brings me
happiness into my environment. Happiness makes me feel satisfied, contentment, delighted, amused,
bliss, and thrilled. Consequently, I enjoy expressing my love to society because people tend get
bless for the amount goodness you have done. In advance, I...show more content...
I was crazy enough to involve Pedro in my destiny. Overall, the concept of it, just felt right, I
thoroughly thought about our relationship for the future. I came to a realization, if I ever wanted
our relationship to be a committed relationship. It would be best, if we both mature up, continue our
bond as friends. Hopefully one day, Pedro would swept me off my feet.
One great advice, I can give to you is wait for your true love to approach you. The significance of
the person approaching you, just justifies that the person is serious about you and there is a
possibility for a committed relationship. I certainly did, however, in my junior year, I identified
Pedro as my friend and nothing else. My dreams were still present, but I preferred at the time his
friendship over a romantic one.
Throughout that time, I set my mind to work on myself: spiritually and mentally wise. I achieved to
be patience, and be an robust person, by gaining these skills, it gave me contentment within my inner
soul. Overall, this taught me valuable morals and norms directly from every obstacle I stumbled
upon. Such as understanding how to be patience about finishing a book, or learning about my
self–care.
As senior year entered, I was a compassionate and determined woman for my education. I seek for no
man in my life, only my education. Learning gave me satisfaction, it nurtured my mind development.
I was fascinated by all the interesting facts within

Recklessly in Love.
In Barbara Graham's "The Future of Love", she says long–term fairy tale romance inspires true love
believers and their perspective towards love itself. Graham expresses the idea that to her, a lot of
relationships fail because both partners in the relationship fall in love with an idealistic view of who
the other person is. She explains that couples jump into relationships thinking their significant other
was this perfect image they made him/her out to be only to come to realization that it was a figment
of their imagination. Graham also defies the sappy happy endings that she says everyone believes in
since heartbroken romantics oversee a lot of the incompatibilities and faults in a relationship to make
it more...show more content...
Graham uses definition in that she defines what love meant to her and how she thinks people
perceived it to be. The first example of this is the idea of searching for love according to "Freud
and his psychoanalytic descendants" (Par. 3) They say that the search for the perfect one is "the
futile wish of not–fully–developed selves" (Par. 3) and invalidity plays its role in this again.
Graham stresses from the beliefs, according to Freud, that apparently "love seems to be to our
psychic structure what food and water are to our cells." (Par. 3) In another example of her usage of
definition to support her thesis, Graham mentions that people believe "marriages and relationships to
be long–running fairy tales." (Par. 5) and by assuming that also makes the readers believe that is the
actual definition of marital status. As absurd and untrue as those examples can get, Graham doesn't
think about the opposing viewpoints of her citations and therefore this can be disputed.
The last rhetorical strategy that Graham uses to support her thesis is citing experts. Graham takes
full advantage of her sources to go in depth with her subject both mentally and biologically.
Following up from her past fake experiences in the beginning of the story, Graham cites mythical
couples such as "Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and her handsome prince, Cinderella and Prince
Charming, Fred and Ginger, Barbie and Ken." (Par. 4) Graham takes a mental approach

Love Is A Powerful Feeling Essay
Love is a powerful feeling; it makes you do crazy thing. Many people spend years trying to find it,
others give up thinking they'll never find it. Love has been defined as an intensive feeling of a deep
romantic or sexual attachment to someone. Of course, Love doesn 't have to romantic and/or sexual.
People who are ace, as in asexual, aromantic and agender, can still be in relationships that are
satisfying for them without the needs of a romantic relationship. Familial love is also
non–romantic–sexual. However, in this paper, we will be talking about romantic–sexual love, what it
is, and why I believe it's so important to understand and experience. Like I mentioned in the
paragraph above love is usually defined as an intensive feeling of a deep romantic or sexual
attachment to someone, however love is a bit more complicated than that. Love is special, it's unique
in it's attitude and behavioral components, it's a phenomenon that eludes easy definition (Our
Sexuality, 2012). Love has always been a complicated subject; sometimes love is fickle, sometimes
love isn't love, but rather pure infatuation. Infatuation is often mistaken for love, however it is only a
short lived but intense passion for someone. It's possible that since many infatuations are mistaken
love that many researches regarding the measurements of love would include individuals infatuated
with each other. In one possible case, a man named Zick Rubin wished to measure love and liking.
He set up 13 questions

Essay On Romantic Love
Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love,
unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article.
Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage
romance. However, love is not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a
difficult thing to actually have a person's hands on.
Most people nowadays will yearn for something more commonly known as true love. True love
can be explained in a sense that it is a person we may or may not consider as a soul mate. It can be
someone we love to a certain degree that we feel happy, complete, and contented.
The definition may be thrown out there in whatever way, but meeting eye to eye with said true love
comes with certain complexity.
In other times, we may be thrown off. What we think could be considered love may not actually be
love.
Though before knowing how to find love, one must know the basics when it comes to the act of
loving in general.
PsychologyToday.com records research on love.
According to said research, vital things to a deep kind of love are physical attraction and a certain
level of intimacy, which follow through with companionship that you feel towards the other person.
The following can lead to difficulty because, in a sense, people of today are inclined towards an
ideal view of romance. People are blinded by what they see in the media and relate whatever

Love And Romance Essay
How has our perception of love changed throughout the centuries? In today's media, our perception
of romance has been distorted due to movies, tv shows, and songs. While in the Middle Ages,
literature and ballads were how most people learned about romantic love. "Stories told through the
ages to describe variations of love as it is found, challenged, lost, denied or thwarted, only to flare
up again, carrying all before it, or else destroying the lovers in a conflagration of desire ." Although,
our culture is more open and accepting of relationships, in the Middle Ages, secrecy and adulterous
relationships were normal in order to have love and romance.
In Andreas Capellanus' "The Art of Courtly Love ," in a letter from the Countess Marie of
Champagne, she states that it wasn't possible to experience courtly love with your spouse. Yet,
sexual contact typically had nothing to do with courtly love. Most of us consider sexual acts to be
something shared between lovers. But at medieval court, the term 'lover' referred to the person
with whom someone danced, giggled, and held hands. As long as the rules relating to chastity and
fidelity were strictly adhered to, such as having heirs with your spouse or waiting to have
intercourse until marriage, you could go outside of the marriage to find romance and love . Why
did love and marriage have nothing to do with each other? At the time, noble marriages were often
arranged in order to increase the status and wealth of each family. It

my aunt stress over the finances of the wedding don't to the day before the wedding itself and
every time she did I watched my uncle attempt to comfort her anyway he could. I watched him

mosquito were all around enjoying the feast, the aisle covered with purple and silver hydrangea
and chairs draped in silver. My aunt and uncle had flew everyone from out of town down here and
bought at least half of the hotel. Of course when it was all over she was financially stress again
but he still looked her in the eye and told her they would work it out. My uncle worked 80+ hours

everything is going to be okay.

Essay Three Types of Love
Three types of love: eros, philos and agape.
Love is a concept that one can explain with many different words. It is very easy to tell the
definition of love but difficult to live in the real life. Love is something that is intrinsically in our
nature. One can definite love, but one cannot dictate how, when and where love expresses itself.
Plato, an old Greek philosopher describes three types of love in his book the Banquet. All of these
classifications of love do happen in the human world, although every single person shows how
they differ greatly in his or her life. In that Greek language, love can be classified as eros, philos, or
agape. Each one depends upon the relationship of the people experiencing the love.
In the first...show more content...
Philos, the second of the three classifications of love in Greek language and philosophy, is more
commonly called fraternal love. However, this does not mean that the relationships formed from
it only happen among males, females or in biological families. Instead, philos signifies a sense of
affiliation formed by sharing one's life deeply with whomever one chooses. This could be a life
partner or simply a good friend that the person has come to trust. To someone outside the philos
style relationship, it could look a lot like eros when a man and a woman become that close, but as
long as those in the friendship know and don't exceed their own limits, philos love can continue
to unite them as platonic brother and sister for far longer than others expect. For instance, there is
a book in the Bible that refers to this kind of love and says: "Whoever finds one friend has found
a treasure" (Sirach 5:14). Some people prefer to say that the first love that someone feels is the
philos love; nevertheless, philos comes in a higher level because one has to purify the first attraction
to another person, purify the simple erotic love, and mutate it to something more transcendental. But
there must not be eros love in order to feel the philos love. Many people experience fluctuating
degrees of this

When we talk about love, most people think that love is the high mood, the abundant feeling and
the vigorous event. But, what is the true love? Which kind of love is the one which we really need?
Some people say that love is a feeling which is a natural expression when you meet the opposite sex
with your admiration. Sometimes love is active, but sometimes it is passive. When love comes to
you, you will act like you were the host of love with the capacity to controlling the direction of
your love and guiding it move forward to where you want it to go. Of course, it would be admired
if someone can control his love. But when you are played in a passive role, the last thing you can

Love means unconditional love for a person. Love will not last long if you fall in love with a
person on the condition that it is built on a kind of money and wealth. The purer the love is, the
longer the feelings will be maintained.
Love meansexpecting nothing in return. There is a saying that "Fortune favours fools". The true
meaning is to say that a people will always feel happy if he doing thing without a purpose, which is
just like love. Being a fool of love, without expecting any returns from the others, you will always be
happy.
Love means never giving up. Time is the best friend of love. Time will brew the best wine of love.
Not giving up means you can get more time to business your love, and give your love more
possibilities.
Love means the possibility of losing. When you feel that you are going to lose your love, you
must grasp the things you have right now, because you are lucky enough as you once had it. If
love is leaving you, do not be sad, because sometimes whatlove can teach you is just after you lost it.
If you treat every day as the last day of love, you will have a very happy minute and

Essay about Love
Love
Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great
writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful
emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently.
Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be
experienced in many different ways.
People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated
through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many
different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate
family and our...show more content...
A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship
between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into
love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may
move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever.
Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at
the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been
looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two
souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as
well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love.
Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a
wonderful feeling.
To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of
love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out
for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. Whether it is between
family, friends, or lovers, love is a precious

What is Love? Essay
Love, Love, Love. We all think about it, dream about it, sing about it, and even lose sleep
worrying about it, but why? Love is such a small word paired with a vital meaning. It's universal,
easy to spell, difficult to define, but impossible to live without. When we don't have it, we search
for it, when we find it, we don't know what to do with it, when we have it, we fear losing it. Love is
the constant source of happiness and sorrow. I am young and I haven't a clue as to what love is, let

the beauty of people falling in love, or the severity of those falling out of love, so what is love?
Love in general could be frightening. Some...show more content...
I think falling in love with someone happens when you least expect it to, when you're too busy
focusing on other aspects of your life. This is where fate comes into play. That specific person
was led to you for some unknown reason. Out of the blues, it's like your knight in shining amour
that you have longed to be with finally found his/her way to you. There are people in this world
that think they may never fall in love again. You fall at times, but you get back up. You will love
again, and you will also trust again. You have to simply let things get themselves done, that's when
you know it's meant to be, because destiny took its course, and while you were too busy doing
something else, the love of your life came along.
Love dates way back to when the world began. In reality, we really have no idea what love truly is.
Raising questions like, is it even real? We watch love movies, read romance novels, but that's the
sugar–coated, sweet and simple version of it. Meeting someone, fall in love, get married, have
kids, spend the rest of your lives together. What about the suffering we have to endure when falling
in love? Risking everything for that one person? And even when we feel we've reached the end of
the road, this person has the power to leave us at any given moment. We put ourselves out there with
the chance they can break us apart.
Love, as it is with everything,

What is love? The type of love I'm describing is the one that gives you butterflies when a certain

Essay on Love
Much has been said about love, but if you search the horizon, you will discover that most of the
things written about love are either pithy or cynical.
Society in general can be cruel and heartless toward real virtue of any kind. In the most popular
venues, love is seldom dealt with with any degree of sobriety. Modern humor mocks marriage,
husbands and wives, then glorifies every conceivable breech of virtue, such as sexual immorality,
profane and obscene values.
Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love,
nor do they learn to practice the art of love. It is usually very poorly defined. People think they are
in love, but they can't explain it. There is a great deal of confusion...show more content...
Romance is different from love, even though ideally, they should occur together. Romance is the
emotional component of love. Romance adds the sparkle in your eyes. Romance adds the perfume
and the colors. Romance embellishes the scenery and swells the music. Romance is the gilding of
love. Romance is gold leaf. It is ornamentation. Romance sometimes becomes a means unto itself. It
even becomes a cheap substitute for love at times. Some people seem to desire the trappings and
embellishments of romance in place of genuine relationships. By comparison, romance is superficial
to love. Romance is skin deep. Love is heart deep. Romance requires things that love does not
require. Romance requires gifs and surprises and lavish attention. Romance sometimes demands
things that contradict love. Romance is offended when the gold leaf wears off. Romance condemns
love that is not eye–pleasing. Romance often injures and denigrates true love because love doesn't
always appeal to romance's selfishness.
Love is for givers, not getters. Those who demand to be loved before they will love shouldn't be
surprised if no one gives them love. Lovers live in a world of giving. The getters, the ones who are
looking for love, is a different world. We have a duty to love, but we have no guarantees that we will
be loved. We have it in our power to love, but we have no power to force others to love us. It is folly
to spend life demanding love from

Love is said to be the greatest human experience in which mankind are privilege to partake in. To
love can be a wondrous experience filling life with bliss and other strong emotions. Some people

concern that each partner is benefiting is essential to each partner. It can be statement in truth that
Philos love is a higher type of love then Eros, where love is not just based on a strong emotion

Love : Love And Relationships Essay
Love and relationships
Love is a significant aspect in people's lives that requires commitment and attention. Despite the
many assumptions on love, it is important to understand that happiness in love comes from sharing
not only the good but also the bad. In order to have a successful relationship, there is need to
understand that love requires sacrifices as well as endeavoring to cultivate love for mutual benefit. If
true love existed in the world, there would be no need for divorce.
Everyone who desires to have a family normally dreams to have a happy relationship that is
founded on love. This love in turn breeds optimism and fondness for each other which can be
envious to many. Therefore, love is significant aspect in every human being that demands a lot of
commitment and attention. However, for any relationship to work, it requires more than just
feelings of closeness and promises to live together with one another with a commitment to ideals of
a relationship. It is also good to note that in order to form a trusting and positive relationship that is
characterized by love takes effort and time. When the partners are able to differentiate facts from
their feelings, they are able to see their partners in a more clear way and not through filters of
weaknesses they have against their partners.
On the other hand, there are many arguments that dispute the existence of love and only term the
relationship between partners as based on mutual interests. Many supporters of this

Definition Essay About Love
Love is difficult to define. The dictionary describes the emotion as an intense feeling of deep
attraction, but what does that mean? The feeling is so complex and unique it would take a million
words to describe. To each person, love can be a different feeling, a different experience, a different
idea. Each person has felt love at least once in a lifetime; the love of something or someone, loving
or being loved. The word "love" is extraordinarily difficult to define because each person
experiences it differently, but it must be experienced to be understood. Emotion is said to be energy
in motion. The emotion "love" is powerful; it drives people to act in profound and unexplainable
ways. All reason can be lost, all logic defied, and what is left is an overwhelming urge to do
something drastic. Love can make people quit their job and fly halfway across the country or risk
their life to run into a burning building. Love's meaning runs deeper than the roots of a dictionary
definition.
Age significantly changes how one views love. The way teens view love is drastically different

Descriptive Essay About Love
The Merriam–Webster dictionary defines the word love as, "a feeling of strong or constant affection
for someone." I personally define love as an unconditional feeling and a feeling of absolute bliss.
The five qualities that I believe are the most important in love include dependability, honesty,
selflessness, loyalty, and empathy. Most everyone needs someone that willlove them
unconditionally to help guide them when they are at a low and support them when they are at
their high; for me, that person is my best friend and boyfriend, Ean Isaiah Thomsen. Before my
sophomore year of high school, Ean Thomsen was not necessarily a person that I was fond of.
When we were in our freshmen year, Ean was an immature, obnoxious person, always trying to
get attention. On August 29, 2015, I remember feeling my phone buzz in my denim shorts pocket
and receiving a text message from Ean Thomsen saying, "Happy Birthday Kena!" From there, we
started having random conversations over text and throughout the school days, making me realize
that he had matured exponentially over the summer. We began to date on September 29, 2017,
and I still remember observing the surprised faces of people when the news had spread; we are
currently still together. Ean Thomsen has light brown, silky hair that falls perfectly on his forehead,
not shaggy like a dog, but not extremely short either. His deep, dark chocolate brown eyes could
easily mesmerize you and he has eyelashes that any girl would envy to have.

Love Poems
Have the love poems, you have read given you a better insight into the emotion of love?
The subject of 'Love Poetry' has given rise to some of the most beautiful and fascinating poetry. The
poets illustrate their feelings, or the feelings of the people concerned with them through the use of
figurative language. Alove poem is not necessarily a poem about romantic love, about romance,
marriage and commitment; it could be something else entirely. It seems to be Universal.
Timeless. Yet, it's also very individual, filtered by our own lives and expectations. Love can be a

him to feel guilty. She wants him to cherish good times that they had, 'forget and smile'.
The tone throughout is melancholy and emotional as the poet talks about her approaching death. The
sonnet form is suitably used because the poet is telling her husband on how death will take over
their love. She accepts death in a philosophical manner. Although she is physically dead she wants to
be remembered.
Christina Rossetti shows us how death can bring a blissful relationship to an end, but she also
shows that love can exist even after death if it has withstood the test of time. She repeats the title
'remember' throughout the poem as a technique to emphasize that she really wants to be
remembered. Poet Rossetti wants to be remembered by her love even if 'darkness and corruption

Here a poem by Christina Rossetti's, 'A Birthday', is a contrast to
'Remember'. Throughout this poem Rossetti expresses happy contented feelings, through her
beautiful use of imagery. Nature imagery is used in the first half of the poem, ' heart is like a

subtexts of an initial date. Another chapter mulls over the question of how and when to say 'I love
you'. There's an essay on how uncomfortable it can be to disagree with a lover's taste in shoes and a
lengthy discussion about the role of guilt in love.

There is no stronger, nor will there ever be. This bond starts from the very first tiny fluttering of
movement and never ends, even after death of the child. A mother protects her children in the
name of love, and directs them through life using it as the example to follow. Well, at least it
should be. It 's because of her children a mother will work at a job she hates, just to make sure they
have everything they could ever want or need.
The phrase, love makes the world go round is very true. It 's is our driving force, for what ever
reason it may be. Poems, plays, and legends can only briefly touch the true meaning of love. We
can only feel what that meaning is, and express it in ways only we can understand towards another.
The true question we should be asking is not, what is life, but what is love.
What is love? I don 't know, but I 'll do what I can to express it to my son, my husband, my family
and friends, and to every single pet I have or ever will own in the best possible way that I

Essay about Love
“The Lady with the Dog';
“Love'; is defined by the Webster’s dictionary as “a
passionate affection of one person for another.'; The short story “The Lady with the
Dog'; written by Anton Chekhov, is a love story. The story introduces us to the character Dmitri
Gurov. He is a married man who is unfaithful to his wife and who leaves his family for long time
periods in order to vacation. In the midst of one of his vacations in Yalta, his path was crossed with a
young married lady named Anna Sergeyuna who similarly, was vacationing alone. A week after
becoming acquaintances they had an affair, that continued on after they returned to their respective
homes and...show more content...
This same disregard for a spouse with whom you are lacking truly love is also present in the
marriage of Anna. She does not love her husband and subsequently criticizes him as well,
“…but he is a flunkey'; (178).These two situation best illustrate to the reader
a typical case of people who remain in non loving relationships, where one spouse ends up
disrespecting the other, thus demonstrating the importance of terminating such relationships.
In a relationship or marriage, which is deficient of true love, the unhappy spouse is constantly
seeking a means to escape and adventure. This phenomenon is present in the case of Anna, where
she does not love her husband so she feels the need to leave her husband for a period of time and
lie to him in order to do so. In a conversation with Dmitri, she tells him about her desperation to
leave her husband and how it lead her into deceiving him, “I could not be restrained.
I told my husband I was ill, and came here…';(178). When love is true, one wants to be
with their spouse and not feel the need to leave their side, which is the way Anna feels. Similarly
Dmitri, due to his lack of love for his wife felt compelled to desert his wife and consequently seek
adventure. His adventures and happiness were rooted in his affairs, which he perpetually had with
new women. From these two examples we see the ramifications of remaining in a relationship
lacking true love.

Essay On Love

  • 1. Reflective Essay About Love Before I begin, love has a substantial meaning to me like the Golden Rule. As a young adult, I thrive to change the word love. In every century, the word love is frequently overused and it is prosaic. Over the years, I finally understood that there is no eminent word to substitute love. Trust me, I had constantly searched across overseas on voyages with your daddy. The wordlove is the only form of vocal expression that I can assure you my affection towards you. The word love brings me happiness into my environment. Happiness makes me feel satisfied, contentment, delighted, amused, bliss, and thrilled. Consequently, I enjoy expressing my love to society because people tend get bless for the amount goodness you have done. In advance, I...show more content... I was crazy enough to involve Pedro in my destiny. Overall, the concept of it, just felt right, I thoroughly thought about our relationship for the future. I came to a realization, if I ever wanted our relationship to be a committed relationship. It would be best, if we both mature up, continue our bond as friends. Hopefully one day, Pedro would swept me off my feet. One great advice, I can give to you is wait for your true love to approach you. The significance of the person approaching you, just justifies that the person is serious about you and there is a possibility for a committed relationship. I certainly did, however, in my junior year, I identified Pedro as my friend and nothing else. My dreams were still present, but I preferred at the time his friendship over a romantic one. Throughout that time, I set my mind to work on myself: spiritually and mentally wise. I achieved to be patience, and be an robust person, by gaining these skills, it gave me contentment within my inner soul. Overall, this taught me valuable morals and norms directly from every obstacle I stumbled upon. Such as understanding how to be patience about finishing a book, or learning about my self–care. As senior year entered, I was a compassionate and determined woman for my education. I seek for no man in my life, only my education. Learning gave me satisfaction, it nurtured my mind development. I was fascinated by all the interesting facts within Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Research Paper for Love Recklessly in Love. In Barbara Graham's "The Future of Love", she says long–term fairy tale romance inspires true love believers and their perspective towards love itself. Graham expresses the idea that to her, a lot of relationships fail because both partners in the relationship fall in love with an idealistic view of who the other person is. She explains that couples jump into relationships thinking their significant other was this perfect image they made him/her out to be only to come to realization that it was a figment of their imagination. Graham also defies the sappy happy endings that she says everyone believes in since heartbroken romantics oversee a lot of the incompatibilities and faults in a relationship to make it more...show more content... Graham uses definition in that she defines what love meant to her and how she thinks people perceived it to be. The first example of this is the idea of searching for love according to "Freud and his psychoanalytic descendants" (Par. 3) They say that the search for the perfect one is "the futile wish of not–fully–developed selves" (Par. 3) and invalidity plays its role in this again. Graham stresses from the beliefs, according to Freud, that apparently "love seems to be to our psychic structure what food and water are to our cells." (Par. 3) In another example of her usage of definition to support her thesis, Graham mentions that people believe "marriages and relationships to be long–running fairy tales." (Par. 5) and by assuming that also makes the readers believe that is the actual definition of marital status. As absurd and untrue as those examples can get, Graham doesn't think about the opposing viewpoints of her citations and therefore this can be disputed. The last rhetorical strategy that Graham uses to support her thesis is citing experts. Graham takes full advantage of her sources to go in depth with her subject both mentally and biologically. Following up from her past fake experiences in the beginning of the story, Graham cites mythical couples such as "Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and her handsome prince, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Fred and Ginger, Barbie and Ken." (Par. 4) Graham takes a mental approach Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Love Is A Powerful Feeling Essay Love is a powerful feeling; it makes you do crazy thing. Many people spend years trying to find it, others give up thinking they'll never find it. Love has been defined as an intensive feeling of a deep romantic or sexual attachment to someone. Of course, Love doesn 't have to romantic and/or sexual. People who are ace, as in asexual, aromantic and agender, can still be in relationships that are satisfying for them without the needs of a romantic relationship. Familial love is also non–romantic–sexual. However, in this paper, we will be talking about romantic–sexual love, what it is, and why I believe it's so important to understand and experience. Like I mentioned in the paragraph above love is usually defined as an intensive feeling of a deep romantic or sexual attachment to someone, however love is a bit more complicated than that. Love is special, it's unique in it's attitude and behavioral components, it's a phenomenon that eludes easy definition (Our Sexuality, 2012). Love has always been a complicated subject; sometimes love is fickle, sometimes love isn't love, but rather pure infatuation. Infatuation is often mistaken for love, however it is only a short lived but intense passion for someone. It's possible that since many infatuations are mistaken love that many researches regarding the measurements of love would include individuals infatuated with each other. In one possible case, a man named Zick Rubin wished to measure love and liking. He set up 13 questions Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay On Romantic Love Love is an abundant emotion that has different degrees. There is familial love, friendly love, unconditional love, and of course romantic love. Romantic love will be the superstar of this article. Romantic love may be around every corner whether between an old couple or a young teenage romance. However, love is not the easiest thing to attain. It is such a simple concept, though a difficult thing to actually have a person's hands on. Most people nowadays will yearn for something more commonly known as true love. True love can be explained in a sense that it is a person we may or may not consider as a soul mate. It can be someone we love to a certain degree that we feel happy, complete, and contented. The definition may be thrown out there in whatever way, but meeting eye to eye with said true love comes with certain complexity. In other times, we may be thrown off. What we think could be considered love may not actually be love. Though before knowing how to find love, one must know the basics when it comes to the act of loving in general. PsychologyToday.com records research on love. According to said research, vital things to a deep kind of love are physical attraction and a certain level of intimacy, which follow through with companionship that you feel towards the other person. The following can lead to difficulty because, in a sense, people of today are inclined towards an ideal view of romance. People are blinded by what they see in the media and relate whatever Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Love And Romance Essay How has our perception of love changed throughout the centuries? In today's media, our perception of romance has been distorted due to movies, tv shows, and songs. While in the Middle Ages, literature and ballads were how most people learned about romantic love. "Stories told through the ages to describe variations of love as it is found, challenged, lost, denied or thwarted, only to flare up again, carrying all before it, or else destroying the lovers in a conflagration of desire ." Although, our culture is more open and accepting of relationships, in the Middle Ages, secrecy and adulterous relationships were normal in order to have love and romance. In Andreas Capellanus' "The Art of Courtly Love ," in a letter from the Countess Marie of Champagne, she states that it wasn't possible to experience courtly love with your spouse. Yet, sexual contact typically had nothing to do with courtly love. Most of us consider sexual acts to be something shared between lovers. But at medieval court, the term 'lover' referred to the person with whom someone danced, giggled, and held hands. As long as the rules relating to chastity and fidelity were strictly adhered to, such as having heirs with your spouse or waiting to have intercourse until marriage, you could go outside of the marriage to find romance and love . Why did love and marriage have nothing to do with each other? At the time, noble marriages were often arranged in order to increase the status and wealth of each family. • 7. Essay Three Types of Love Three types of love: eros, philos and agape. Love is a concept that one can explain with many different words. It is very easy to tell the definition of love but difficult to live in the real life. Love is something that is intrinsically in our nature. One can definite love, but one cannot dictate how, when and where love expresses itself. Plato, an old Greek philosopher describes three types of love in his book the Banquet. All of these classifications of love do happen in the human world, although every single person shows how they differ greatly in his or her life. In that Greek language, love can be classified as eros, philos, or agape. Each one depends upon the relationship of the people experiencing the love. In the first...show more content... Philos, the second of the three classifications of love in Greek language and philosophy, is more commonly called fraternal love. However, this does not mean that the relationships formed from it only happen among males, females or in biological families. Instead, philos signifies a sense of affiliation formed by sharing one's life deeply with whomever one chooses. This could be a life partner or simply a good friend that the person has come to trust. To someone outside the philos style relationship, it could look a lot like eros when a man and a woman become that close, but as long as those in the friendship know and don't exceed their own limits, philos love can continue to unite them as platonic brother and sister for far longer than others expect. For instance, there is a book in the Bible that refers to this kind of love and says: "Whoever finds one friend has found a treasure" (Sirach 5:14). Some people prefer to say that the first love that someone feels is the philos love; nevertheless, philos comes in a higher level because one has to purify the first attraction to another person, purify the simple erotic love, and mutate it to something more transcendental. But there must not be eros love in order to feel the philos love. Many people experience fluctuating degrees of this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Definition Essay About Love When we talk about love, most people think that love is the high mood, the abundant feeling and the vigorous event. But, what is the true love? Which kind of love is the one which we really need? Some people say that love is a feeling which is a natural expression when you meet the opposite sex with your admiration. Sometimes love is active, but sometimes it is passive. When love comes to you, you will act like you were the host of love with the capacity to controlling the direction of your love and guiding it move forward to where you want it to go. Of course, it would be admired if someone can control his love. But when you are played in a passive role, the last thing you can do is just obedience. In fact, speaking one's love loudly and lettingthe your lover know that he/she exists in your heart is a preservatives of love. Love means unconditional love for a person. Love will not last long if you fall in love with a person on the condition that it is built on a kind of money and wealth. The purer the love is, the longer the feelings will be maintained. • 9. Essay about Love Love Love is difficult to define, difficult to measure, and difficult to understand. Love is what great writers write about, great singers sing about, and great philosophers ponder. Love is a powerful emotion, for which there is no wrong definition, for it suits each and every person differently. Whether love is between family, friends, or lovers, it is an overwhelming emotion that can be experienced in many different ways. People experience love for the first time by being part of a family. Family love is demonstrated through lessons of sacrifice, concern and compassion, from the cradle to the grave. There are many different levels and conditions of family love. It is the love we cherish between our intermediate family and our...show more content... A close–knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever. Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been looking for, one can not imagine life with anybody else. Romantic love is a connection between two souls that is captured with a feeling that is not only felt within the heart but within their body as well. I have never been in love with a girl; I can only imagine what it might be like to be in love. Guessing from my sister's relationship with boys, it seems like a big headache instead of a wonderful feeling. To simply write a definition of love is complicated because every person has a different perception of love. The only way to capture the true meaning of love is to experience the feeling and find out for oneself, what love is. In our lives and the lives of others, love is evident. • 10. What is Love? Essay Love, Love, Love. We all think about it, dream about it, sing about it, and even lose sleep worrying about it, but why? Love is such a small word paired with a vital meaning. It's universal, easy to spell, difficult to define, but impossible to live without. When we don't have it, we search for it, when we find it, we don't know what to do with it, when we have it, we fear losing it. Love is the constant source of happiness and sorrow. I am young and I haven't a clue as to what love is, let alone what falling in love is. However, I have my ideas of what love is like. I have never witnessed the beauty of people falling in love, or the severity of those falling out of love, so what is love? Love in general could be frightening. Some...show more content... I think falling in love with someone happens when you least expect it to, when you're too busy focusing on other aspects of your life. This is where fate comes into play. That specific person was led to you for some unknown reason. Out of the blues, it's like your knight in shining amour that you have longed to be with finally found his/her way to you. There are people in this world that think they may never fall in love again. You fall at times, but you get back up. You will love again, and you will also trust again. You have to simply let things get themselves done, that's when you know it's meant to be, because destiny took its course, and while you were too busy doing something else, the love of your life came along. Love dates way back to when the world began. In reality, we really have no idea what love truly is. Raising questions like, is it even real? We watch love movies, read romance novels, but that's the sugar–coated, sweet and simple version of it. Meeting someone, fall in love, get married, have kids, spend the rest of your lives together. What about the suffering we have to endure when falling in love? Risking everything for that one person? And even when we feel we've reached the end of the road, this person has the power to leave us at any given moment. We put ourselves out there with the chance they can break us apart. • 13. Essay on Love Much has been said about love, but if you search the horizon, you will discover that most of the things written about love are either pithy or cynical. Society in general can be cruel and heartless toward real virtue of any kind. In the most popular venues, love is seldom dealt with with any degree of sobriety. Modern humor mocks marriage, husbands and wives, then glorifies every conceivable breech of virtue, such as sexual immorality, profane and obscene values. Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love, nor do they learn to practice the art of love. It is usually very poorly defined. Romance is the emotional component of love. Romance adds the sparkle in your eyes. Romance adds the perfume and the colors. Romance embellishes the scenery and swells the music. Romance is the gilding of love. Romance is gold leaf. It is ornamentation. Romance sometimes becomes a means unto itself. It even becomes a cheap substitute for love at times. Some people seem to desire the trappings and embellishments of romance in place of genuine relationships. By comparison, romance is superficial to love. Romance is skin deep. Love is heart deep. Romance requires things that love does not require. Romance requires gifs and surprises and lavish attention. Romance sometimes demands things that contradict love. Romance is offended when the gold leaf wears off. Romance condemns love that is not eye–pleasing. Romance often injures and denigrates true love because love doesn't always appeal to romance's selfishness. Love is for givers, not getters. Those who demand to be loved before they will love shouldn't be surprised if no one gives them love. Lovers live in a world of giving. The getters, the ones who are looking for love, is a different world. We have a duty to love, but we have no guarantees that we will be loved. We have it in our power to love, but we have no power to force others to love us. It is folly to spend life demanding love from Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Definition Essay About Love Love is difficult to define. The dictionary describes the emotion as an intense feeling of deep attraction, but what does that mean? The feeling is so complex and unique it would take a million words to describe. To each person, love can be a different feeling, a different experience, a different idea. Each person has felt love at least once in a lifetime; the love of something or someone, loving or being loved. The word "love" is extraordinarily difficult to define because each person experiences it differently, but it must be experienced to be understood. Emotion is said to be energy in motion. The emotion "love" is powerful; it drives people to act in profound and unexplainable ways. All reason can be lost, all logic defied, and what is left is an overwhelming urge to do something drastic. Love can make people quit their job and fly halfway across the country or risk their life to run into a burning building. Love's meaning runs deeper than the roots of a dictionary definition. • 17. Descriptive Essay About Love The Merriam–Webster dictionary defines the word love as, "a feeling of strong or constant affection for someone." I personally define love as an unconditional feeling and a feeling of absolute bliss. The five qualities that I believe are the most important in love include dependability, honesty, selflessness, loyalty, and empathy. Most everyone needs someone that willlove them unconditionally to help guide them when they are at a low and support them when they are at their high; for me, that person is my best friend and boyfriend, Ean Isaiah Thomsen. Before my sophomore year of high school, Ean Thomsen was not necessarily a person that I was fond of. When we were in our freshmen year, Ean was an immature, obnoxious person, always trying to get attention. On August 29, 2015, I remember feeling my phone buzz in my denim shorts pocket and receiving a text message from Ean Thomsen saying, "Happy Birthday Kena!" From there, we started having random conversations over text and throughout the school days, making me realize that he had matured exponentially over the summer. We began to date on September 29, 2017, and I still remember observing the surprised faces of people when the news had spread; we are currently still together. Ean Thomsen has light brown, silky hair that falls perfectly on his forehead, not shaggy like a dog, but not extremely short either. His deep, dark chocolate brown eyes could easily mesmerize you and he has eyelashes that any girl would envy to have. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

'do not grieve' , she does not want her lover to feel that her love is possessive, she does not want him to feel guilty. She wants him to cherish good times that they had, 'forget and smile'. The tone throughout is melancholy and emotional as the poet talks about her approaching death. The sonnet form is suitably used because the poet is telling her husband on how death will take over their love. She accepts death in a philosophical manner. Although she is physically dead she wants to be remembered. Christina Rossetti shows us how death can bring a blissful relationship to an end, but she also shows that love can exist even after death if it has withstood the test of time. She repeats the title 'remember' throughout the poem as a technique to emphasize that she really wants to be remembered. Poet Rossetti wants to be remembered by her love even if 'darkness and corruption leave'. Yet her love is unselfish. Here a poem by Christina Rossetti's, 'A Birthday', is a contrast to 'Remember'. Throughout this poem Rossetti expresses happy contented feelings, through her beautiful use of imagery. Nature imagery is used in the first half of the poem, ' heart is like a singing bird' , 'heart is like a rainb The title 'A Birthday' is not represented with love at all, but as we read the poem, we come to know that 'A Birthday' is new life, because she is in love. We see how love makes a person radiant and blissful. From the first line itself Rossetti Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In a relationship or marriage, which is deficient of true love, the unhappy spouse is constantly seeking a means to escape and adventure. This phenomenon is present in the case of Anna, where she does not love her husband so she feels the need to leave her husband for a period of time and lie to him in order to do so. In a conversation with Dmitri, she tells him about her desperation to leave her husband and how it lead her into deceiving him, “I could not be restrained. I told my husband I was ill, and came here…';(178). When love is true, one wants to be with their spouse and not feel the need to leave their side, which is the way Anna feels. Similarly Dmitri, due to his lack of love for his wife felt compelled to desert his wife and consequently seek adventure. His adventures and happiness were rooted in his affairs, which he perpetually had with new women. From these two examples we see the ramifications of remaining in a relationship lacking true love.
