She almost floated across the empty, box–like room. A cold shiver relentlessly weaved its way down
Emma's spine as she ran her bony hand down the bleak wall. The fireplace glared at her – its mouth
opened wide. The unfamiliar surroundings struck her as if forcing themselves against her weak body
–engulfing her. A soft breeze seething its way into the room from the uneven cracks underneath the

A creative person is someone who uses their imagination and intuition to create something new or to
make changes to something that already exists. Creative people have many attributes such as
openness to new experiences, observance, curiosity, personal freedom, a willingness to take risks,
self reliance, persistence and the freedom from fear of failure. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivations are

It would be good for me to develop non–attachment also as I can't get attached to things I do and I
always want my preferences. It would also be good for me to develop skills that could be used in a
group situation as I do not work well in a group. Van Gundy's also had a list of ten things that would
help me work better in a group.
There are also aspects that can damage or destroy a person's creativity. There are six factors that
when brought upon a person who is doing something creative, will undermine both the intrinsic
interest and creative potential of the project. The six factors are:
1.Expected Evaluation: If a person is expecting somebody to be evaluating their work they will
worry about criticisms the person might make. The pressure will cause a person's creativity to be
restricted.
2.Surveillance: Creativity would also be harmed if there is a person constantly peering over your
shoulder as you are trying to be creative.
3.Reward: Although the incentive of a reward might help someone, it might also harm creativity as
I believe a person would be trying to hard to do something they cant and also trying to make
something to perfect and never accepting the good work they have done.
4.Competition: If a person is in competition with another they might focus all their energy on the
competition rather than creativity of the project.

Creative Writing: Roberto Johnson's Surgery
A shriek of success erupted from Roberto Johnson's two car garage. "I've done it!" He cried out in
pride," My time machine is finally complete!" His excitement was interrupted by a mild explosion
originating from the complicated structure that loomed above him. Roberto gave a frustrated yell
before a blue light began to glimmer from the machine. In his awe he could hardly tell that the
machine was being activated. The light progressively intensified until everything around Roberto
was undetectable. CRACK Roberto fell to the ground as the blue light transformed into rays of

ground as he was placed onto a wooden wagon and dragged across the ruined terrain. Riding
bumpily across crumbled houses and overturned street lamps he found himself with a warm
feeling. He realized he didn't want to struggle under the weight of the few cats that sat upon him.
It was an odd feeling that the cats emitted. A feeling of home. Roberto felt the cart stop with a jolt
and the murmurs of a few cats around him. The sack was lifted from his head and light almost as
potent as the light from his time machine blinded him. The smell of lush grass washed away his
thoughts of the decaying lifeless land in which he had crashed. As his eyes adjusted from the
darkness of the sack that had shielded his face from his surroundings he realized he was no longer in
the wasteland he'd found most uncomfortable but rather in a colorful town.

Change, creativity and innovation are essential elements for survival and growth of an organization.
Creativity is vital for the birth of fresh and beneficial ideas. Creative thinking allows groups and
individuals to solve problems or stimulate to think differently in order to bring forth fruitful ideas.
The above mentioned creative thinking enabled our team of six different personalities to come
together and implement a plan to solve a complex problem in a hospital. Our assigned task was to
recommend a plan in order to alleviate hospital readmission among elderly population within thirty
days of discharge. In this paper the author is narrating the team dynamics, functionalities and
personal competencies in the process of recommending a change in the system. As a member in the
innovation leadership team the author is also reflecting on the assessment, capacity for innovation in

Creative Play Observation
During my observation, I could perceive that use of material in creative format satisfy their cognitive
and social development during their imagination in play. The lead teacher helps to build their
confidence with their experiences with others. The creative format helps children to discover and
understand about their environment. I can see that when children are in an imaginative play, they are
using different materials, they can express themselves verbally and non–verbal. They also act,

My Passion For Creative Writing
Even as an elementary school student, I loved writing, reading, and telling stories. I wrote and
created short films with my friends and family, printed books I wrote and gave them to my
neighbors to read and review, and got excited whenever my teacher gave a writing assignment for
homework. I took inspiration from the people around me, topics we discussed in school, and other
works of literature I adored. Throughout my years, my skills have improved through hard work and
dedication. I feel that my application would not be complete if I did not share my passion for creative
writing.
When I was younger, writing was enjoyable because I had such a vast imagination that needed to
be put onto paper. I was writing daily and asked my parents to read books to me before bed each
night so I could brainstorm ideas for my stories. I loved going to the library and checking out the
books on the 'new releases' shelf. To this day, I write regularly. I still use my imagination to inspire
my stories, along with other works of literature and historical events. I also try to write in different
voices, genres, and points of view.
During my freshman year, I noticed that my school did not have a creative writing club, and so, with
the help of a peer, I founded the Creative Writing Club at my school. The club's goal was to help
young writers share and write new pieces. We would start each day with a prompt, write for ten

My Experience Of Creative Writing
Creative writing is something that has and always will be an important part of my life. It's helped

My bedroom was my sanctuary; a place where I felt like no matter what, I could always be myself.
That was my favorite place to write my stories and for the next couple years it was a place where I
would write hundreds of stories. Even today I still like to think of my bedroom as my go–to place of
peace, where I can write whatever I want. Fast–forward to my sixth grade year and I find myself at
the helm of an important moment in my life that involved creative writing. I was hoping to get into a
private school, but in order to do so I first had to create a five–hundred–word essay about why I
should be able to attend. I had never really done anything like this in my entire life. For a couple

Introduction Creativity does not have an assigned or universally accepted definition. Thus the
true nature of creativity cannot be confined to a single definition. In this text, I discuss creativity.
More specifically, I concern myself with what creativity means to me and to others. What
Creativity Means to Me In my opinion, creativity has got to do with the ability to come up with
new things or ideas. Over time, we have had individuals design, produce or even manufacture
items which were not in existence before. On the other hand, we also have people who have

design or invention. These two groups of people in my opinion could be regarded as being rather
creative. Further, creativity in my view also has got to do with the ability to solve problems or
challenges in a unique way. For instance, an individual who solves a recurring problem within a
group setting could be regarded creative. Some of the people I consider creative based on their
ability to come up with new ideas and/or build upon the ideas of others include but are not limited
to Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. In my opinion, all these individuals at
some point engaged their creative minds in the development of an entirely new concept, an idea or
product or built upon the ideas of others to come up with even better ideas, concepts or products.

Creative Writing: Bomb Threat
During my freshman year at St. John's Prep, there was a rumour going around the school that there
was a bomb threat. At first, I did not believe that this was a real threat due to the calm and happy
nature of most students at our school. Once I had gotten the email from Dr. Hardiman, restating the
issue of the bomb threat, which most students and faculty already knew about. Dr. Hardiman also
stated that there would be an excused absence for anyone who did not feel it would be safe to attend
school that day. My mother, being a hard–nosed Albanian mother, told me that I would be fine and
that nothing would happen. On the other hand, I genuinely felt a little scared to go to school that
coming day. The bomb threat really shaped my worldview because prior to this event I had never
gone through a situation where I believed I could be put in a life–threatening position. I had always

Knowledge is generated through critical and creative thinking. Creative thinking is something new
or original that is created with value. Critical thinking is a type of thinking that questions
assumptions and validates or invalidates a current belief or something that is said to be previously

justify their formulas or methods. For example, memorizing the area under a bell curve is very
different from understanding how it is derived. Proofs are useful when proving mathematical
concepts although they are not concrete and harder to understand. Creative aspects must be
considered when trying to derive a difficult proof. Creative problem solving involving mathematics
can use sense perception as a way of knowing. In these problems, real life situations allow for the
organization of ideas and require that the student's attention be focused on the actual understanding
of the concepts rather than the usual memorization of facts from concrete problems. For example,
calculating the replanting of trees in a forest would depend on the circumstances surrounding the
problems and factors would be dependant on the situation. Is creating a personal solution to the
problems more effective than searching for existing solutions? In regards to mathematics, if a
solution is known to exist using methods already established, there is no need to search for
additional or new solutions. There are always exceptions to any case and new knowledge could
form from a completely new and personal solution. This could create new knowledge using creative
thinking and could also create a more efficient solution to the one previously used. Applied

Reflection Of Creative Writing
It is my belief that through this class and the tools provided, that my growth as a writer has grown
through leaps and bounds I would never have assumed possible. It is not so much the skill I refer
to, although I would think skill has gone up in some levels as well, but more so the appreciation for
the craft of writing itself. Intially, at the start of this class my sole goal was to further my
understanding and appreciation of the writer's and books that I so love to read. Through further
evaluation within the first week, a few other goals came to mind, of which were, making writing
a habit, finishing what I start, stop second guess my writing skills and making effective use of
detail and description. Through the use of the many articles, various reading materials, whether
poems or short stories, and especially through the workshop, I feel I was able to really push
myself to accomplishing these goals. I have thus far learned how important it is not to be skilled
at writing per say, but to have the will to write, that poetry is as much about it's sound as it is about
it's subject, just how important character development is, how the narration and point of view of a
story is essential to the way the story is told, and just how much of a difference peer's critiques can
make to your writing.
Since before the beginning of this creative writing course, I have always struggled to find a point to
writing. By this, I mean that I always felt that having great skill and talent was what was required
to be a writer, let alone a great one. From this point, I felt there was no need to continue my
writing as I felt that in a sense it just wasn't good enough. However, reading the article "A Way of
Writing", I found new hope. Here was a writer who says things such as "I must be willing to fail. If
I am to keep on writing, I cannot bother to insist on high standards. I must get into action and not let
anything stop me, or even slow me much"(Stafford) and quotes that writers don't necessarily have
any special talent. The article "Why I Write" instilled further optimism through the authors view on
just being a writer, not focusing on being good or bad. I found her words in which she writes

Creative Writing: The Holocaust
I really need to clean this house, it's so dusty. Bending down to fix the bookshelf, I noticed that it
was unorganised. "Goodness gracious, it's such a mess!" I thought to myself on why I haven't
cleaned this part of the house. As I took out all the books, I noticed a very familiar book. It was a

emotional truth, narrative tension and voice. These elements that carried me through the rest of the
semester. Moving into Weeks Five and Six, revision was the main focus. Revising of lines folded
into the reading of sounds and Sonics. Both very important to the finalization of a creative nonfiction
draft. Weeks 8–12 pushed the importance of drafts and revision strategies. Our small groups
