Before you MARK ZUCKERBERG, ELON MUSK. Biz plan. Pitch. Dream team. Investors. Making profit, changing the world or saving the planet. It’s really simple. You, “yes, YOU” need to be able to make a human say “THANK YOU”.

Your success will be determined by this. It’s just like TGIF. Why is it TGIF? Your excited to leave work!!! Why? Go do something you love and you are good at...or trying to get better. For example, its the weekend and you like putting on your running shoes. I hate it...but love putting on my wetsuit. Or something super awesome is going on this weekend. Like going to play with your friends by doing fun cool stuff...stuff that you do for free, that you are most likely pretty good at? Let’s swap FRIDAY with MONDAY. What if that was your work? Think about it, you get to go play with your friends that have similar interests, doing fun cool stuff, making other people happy and your pretty good at it. Could you get to TGIM?

Worked 3 days a week, WED, FRI and SUN all through high school. Open, set up generators, electrical, lighting, prep track, set up concession stand, and my friends helped.
Paid to perform at local events, fairs, speedway races, half time shows, and fairs. And still running the BMX racetrack. Work was Play.
I was the kid, drawing, now Photoshop with Wacom tablet. We went around to neighbors asking for old spray paint cans. Just started getting in to the scene.
Before I could do anything with my art...
First thing at UCI.
I had a burning desire to do something more with my passion for art.
I listened to my Mom...be a doctor.
TRUE adulthood, heart, your gut, your inner voice, your spirit, your conscious. What ever you want to call it...that’s what you need to start listening too more than anything else. It’s going to guide you and it will be right. Listen DECISIONS and MEMORIES. Your decisions turn into your memories...that YOU MUST LIVE WITH FOREVER...not your parents.
Ok, so now I’m about to not listen to my Dad. Instead of traveling, remember that little bug I had biting me...the desire to do something with my art?

Designing apparel in Newport Beach, hiring my friends, traveling to Japan 15 times in one year, manufacturing in China, surfing every where, 15 minutes of fame on MTV, voted best fashion designer in OC Weekly, clients are happy, vendors are happy, bank is happy!
We are top of the world...what could go wrong?
Medial Thriller Pandemic? Was lesson #1 wrong? Maybe...I should have listened to my parents.
As an entrepreneur, every decision is your responsibility. Ups, downs and sideways. Things happen that you don’t expect and can’t plan for...but you need to OWN IT. Why, because it’s your business and this also applies to YOUR LIFE. There is no FAULT, there is no BLAME, there is only CAUSE and EFFECT. The faster you can get through the DOWN and SIDEWAYS situations the better. And here is how you deal with it, ask yourself if it is a FACT or a PROBLEM. If it is a FACT, accept it an move on, don’t dwell on it, don’t try to figure it out. Most likely, you don’t need to figure out why the sky is blue, or even how the students in Hong Kong were able to shut down government...it’s not the highest and best use of your time. However, if it is a PROBLEM, fix it, fast.
BELIEVING IS THE BEGINNING. This is the beginning of everything that is great in the world. It’s the seed that starts everything. I addition to it’s all on you...you also need to be the one who believes THE MOST in yourself. Every great story started with someone believing in something: an idea, a person, a product.
You love building brands. It’s what you do that add value to peoples lives. Just need to change my lens my perspective.
PLACE: New region. After 3 months. We had a new lens. Asia is down but OC was growing.
PRODUCT: No cash, can’t buy/build products, so focus on selling services.
PRODUCT TREND: .com trend was taking off. Everyone wanted to create a website.
PIVOT: We reinvented our selves by applying the same process we use for our clients. PASSION - ADD VALUE...and....
BE HAPPY. Signed up clients and were in business.
I know...ALL rockstar entrepreneurs who dropped out.
If you are as smart/lucky as them, do what ever you want. If you’re not, STAY IN SCHOOL.

In keeping with expect change. The most secure investment I have made is in RE. After meeting with mentors, advisors, and even talking with the Dean at the Anderson School of Business...I hear the same thing over and over...no matter where you start, you will end up in real estate.
I did a quick calculation this morning, in the long term, it has been my best return on my time invested by far. If you only calculate the amount of time I spent, invest 1 minute per month writing a check (checking my auto-pay). $6788/minute.
