Selected to participate as only non-Japanese English teacher at a public senior high school as member of one
of Japan’s largest cultural exchange programs (JET), run by 3 Japanese government ministries
• Serve as only non-Japanese member on 6-person team to evaluate & reorganize English language
program; developed more than 100 new text & audio assets
• Developed & implemented 4 semester-long elective curricula units with themes including American
history through drama & song translation (culminating in a published book of students’ works),
which were selected to become a permanent part of future coursework
• Launched student-driven English-version websites for 2 local high schools
• Coached 1st place student in Osaka Prefecture’s High School English Speech Contest
• Founded all-day international exchange event involving 40 students & 15 teachers
