If brand positioning is about differentiating yourself from the

perhaps our own best case study.
With automotive experience since we started and recognising
the need to deliver real value to our clients, we stuck our flag
in the ground and claimed automotive, its supply chain and

And so we built and built and built on that ground, always

Cummins Inc. is a global power leader and the world’s largest
manufacturer of diesel engines. With global manufacturing
and support, Cummins powers more types of equipment in more
markets than any other engine company.
Working with Cummins for over 6 years in Europe and North
America, having originally been contracted to implement the new
brand throughout European markets, CMB have implemented
large scale communications campaigns in over 15 countries across
Europe and in 13 languages.
Taking the role of ‘Brand Stewards’, CMB work closely with
Cummins to enforce brand standards, build awareness and
create positive brand associations. This is achieved through
carefully planned and executed marketing communications
that deliver key messages to customers, distributors, dealers,
stakeholders and internal employees.

Our achievements include:
• Successful brand stewardship, raising awareness and
creating positive associations. Added to the overall value
of the Cummins brand.
• Helped Cummins communicate the restructuring of the
Cummins MerCruiser Diesel (CMD) brand without losing
market share.
• Organised and managed an extremely complicated and
commercially sensitive internal communications programme
on restructuring of Cummins management teams. We delivered
internal communications bulletins simultaneously to over
1000 Cummins staff, throughout 15 countries, in 13 different
languages and 3 time zones.
• Successful launches of new QSB6.7 and QSK95 engines
throughout Europe.
• Creation of Cummins Europe’s ‘Legendary Service’ campaign
which has subsequently been adopted for use globally.
CMB continue to work closely with Cummins across Europe
and have recently expanded our role, providing marketing support
in North American and Global markets.

10. Case Study - Zeta Automotive
Zeta Automotive designs, develops and supplies cutting-edge
autonomous control systems for commercial vehicle fleets.
They were acquired by Arriva PLC in 2013, following successful
trials of their flagship product, EconoSpeed Connect.
Seeking greater commercial viability beyond the bus and
coach market, Zeta turned to CMB to develop a brand strategy
to achieve penetration in additional markets.
CMB worked with Zeta to identify commercially viable industry
sectors; Bus & Coach, Multi-Drop Light Goods Vehicles and
Refuse/Recycling Operations. We identified each sector’s unique
demands and developed a tailored approach to deliver sector
specific messaging and communications, including:

11. Case Study - DCE Inc.
DC Electronics is a leading manufacturer of custom made
electrical systems to the motorsport industry. Based in
Maldon, Essex and Mooresville, USA, their products are used by
race‑winning teams in Formula 1, NASCAR, Le Mans Endurance
Series, World Rally, Superbike and F1 Powerboats.
CMB were engaged by DCE to create a marketing campaign
specifically for the US arm of the company, and based
around the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show
in Indianapolis.
CMB worked closely with DCE to identify key objectives and
deliver them through an intelligent marketing campaign,
which included:
• Development of “The Winning Formula” campaign theme
• Design and build of specific website landing page linked
to digital marketing channels
