Persuasive Essay About Self Discipline
Everybody at some point in their life has wanted to make a change, hopefully for the better. For
most, it can take some serious self discipline to actually put these changes into full force. Here's a
proposition: take the time out of the day to sit down and actually think about the outcomes of the
problem, and then decide if it's worth going through the motions to make that change. Because
everyone on this earth has a given amount of time everyday, no one can use the excuse that they don't
have the time of day; that's bullshit. Yes, some may have a busy schedule but you have breaks
throughout the day. May it be the required break they get from work, the commute from school to
home, or when they're alone with their thoughts at night;...show more content...
They should've known that they weren't truly alone, since the individual has been there for them
always, but they really must've to think that their best friend wouldn't been with them the one time.
The minute the individual found out about their friend's death, they started to crash and burn, tearing
themselves apart, blaming themselves, saying that it's their fault that they couldn't save you since
they didn't know. Their mental and physical state started to deplete and they've become accustomed
to the numbness that has spread throughout their body. They start to eat unhealthily and just stop
working out all together. Minor health problems start to invade their system, they get sick more
easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they've been dealing with
so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was
thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they'll be reunited with their best friend if they were
to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they're thinking about meeting that fate sooner
rather than later. But they don't want to really do this, they want to get better, but the rut they've
created is so coarse and rugged that it'll be difficult to fix those problems. First off, the individual
finally decides to go through with

Persuasive Essay On Freedom Of Speech
Freedom of speech in America is defined by the right to express any opinions without any
censorship or restraint. But it isn't just defined by the words people speak aloud. It's the actions
they take part in to support the words they express. The writing of books and essays, creating
artwork, giving speeches to grand crowds, voting, protesting. But do all people have the right to
speak their mind? Should people be able to speak freely, to express opinions and thoughts, as
promised in the United States constitution? A controversial topic, with many different opinions
weighing in from around the world.
Speech is expression of thoughts, through many different actions. Some include writing, artwork,
speeches, protests. On occasion in speaking...show more content...
With all these truths, and the freedom to speak them, comes the question of who should hold the
power and ability to speak their minds. In the United States, our society believes everyone should
have the right to freedom of speech, to voice thoughts and opinions. Written down in the
constitution is the promise to citizen rights, to all peoples who want to exercise those rights. "It
was we the people; not we, the white male citizens," who built up our nation and society, and the
promise to freedom of speech (Anthony, par. 4). Women, children, teens, those of color should all
be able to speak freely, to give shape to the opinions they hold like all the empowered men that
speak freely. Not all governments and nations feel the same about this. In Singapore, they have their
"own standards of social order as reflected in [their] laws" (Reyes, par. 3). Different nations feel
differently about human rights and laws as presented by the United States, including freedom of
speech, whether it is safe for everyone to speak their minds or just best to keep it to those who are
fed lies from those of a higher position.
With freedom of speech can come violence, a common reason for nations and governments to deny
this right. Some societies, such as Singapore, agree that by enforcing certain laws that abide the
government keep said nation "orderly and relatively crime–free" (Reyes, par. 3). Freedom of speech
can also mean

Donald Trump has suggested that a contest should be held as to which television network covers
him in the most "dishonest, corrupt and or/distorted" way, as he has again labeled many of the
outlets "fake news." It is one of some attacks by the president against the press coverage he receives,
with the most vitriolic coming back in August when he referred the assembled journalists as "truly
dishonest" and "sick people."Mr. Trump also used the term "your favorite president," a moniker he
has used recently – that is despite his approval ratings telling a different story."
Literature Review The press is basic to vote based system, and popularity based race is
comprehensibly deprived of the press. An open and sensible contest is not only about the prospect of
voting and the culture the way to make a selection, yet around a hands–on process where the
electorates participate in the open verbal confrontation and provide adequate information on the
meetings, approaches, competitors and the verdict process on the situation with a precise aim of
settling on sophisticated choices. Besides, the press drives around as a critical watch to popularity
founded decisions, defending the frankness in the procedure.
During the 2005 gathering to commemorate World Press Freedom Day worldwide, an affirmation
was formed which concentrated on "independent and mixed press are rudimentary for assuring

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good
essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a
passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I
have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with
an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of
school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of
passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First
things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content...
You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds
the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job
to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a
bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this
essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there
reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot
before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here,
this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In
the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered
this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you
finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute,
reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point

Persuasive Essay On Plastics
A substance so toxic that kills a great variety of our marine life such as whales, seabirds and any
other animal that mistaken plastic for food. Generation through generation humans are culpable for
the extinction of different species. When will this stop? Will it stop once every animal has gone
extinct or once there is more plastic than fish in the ocean? What kind of planet do people would
like to leave behind? Research made by Alexandra Sifferlin made for the Science magazine "Time".
Found that 5 to 13 million metric tons of plastic made it to the ocean and it is predicted that my
2025, the annual cumulative output of plastic into the ocean will around 155 million metric tons.
Time to take action. There is a solution to every problem and all it takes is for people to help.
According to EcoWatch, Americans throw away around 35 billion plastic water bottles each year
which takes from 500 to 1,000 years to degrade, meaning that every water bottle ever made is still
somewhere in the ocean. How can a fish eat a water bottle? The intense sunlight breaks the plastic
into tiny pieces, making it easier and more toxic for them to consume. There are different toxins
in water bottles, however the most threatening one is called Bisphenol A also known as BPA.
BPA is known for causing cancer in people. A recent study made by the University of Ghent in
Belgium found that human seafood eaters ingest up to 11,000 tiny pieces of plastic every year,
absorbing a high percentage into the digestive system. It is no mystery why the cancer rate has
gone up in the last decades Since Americans eat fish on a weekly basis.
Be part of the solution, not the problem, There is a variety of easy solutions to help the
environment such as using reusable water bottles and bags, Do not throw trash on the floor since
it ends up in the ocean. Use the 3 R's. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce the amount of waste
produced since it takes hundreds of years for it to disintegrate. Reuse all plastic plates, knives,
forks, cups, bags, and any other plastic material that can be used more than once. Recycle materials
like paper, Cardboard, and plastic can be process for it to be possible to create a new product with
the same material. Recycling is a perfect

Persuasive Essay On Self Esteem
Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your
worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is
just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall
physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You
find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or
unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting
words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low
self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving
the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines
that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to
ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do
not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence
structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles
on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are
not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day
or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so
stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of
your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at
it and try to improve over time. Seek to find something good about yourself every day, no matter
how small, because every positive thought counts. If you find yourself struggling to figure out what
to write some days, there are several prompts that can get your thoughts moving in the right
direction. If today was a relatively good day, you might write about why you enjoyed your day or
things you are grateful for in your life. Conversely, if you had a particularly rough day

Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay
When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions
and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to
agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across
and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive
essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action;
giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for
others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to
write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much
as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all
into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the
research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to
help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able
to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the
meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my
writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. Giving my readers a better

How To Make A Reusable Bag Persuasive Essay
Did you know that we give you 10Вў for every reusable bag you use at the Co–op? We firmly
believe that the absolute best shopping bag to use is a reusable bag. Reusing bags reduces waste,
reduces energy use, and reduces materials needed for disposable bag production. And in many cases
durable cloth or plastic bags can hold more without breaking or tearing. In April 2017, the Co–op
recommitted to reducing bag waste in our community, by increasing our reusable bag incentive from
3Вў to 10Вў per reusable bag used. But, wait, there's more! In addition to increasing our bag
incentive in April, we kicked off our Bag It Forward! donation program. Now, when you bring your
bags, we'll offer you the 10Вў incentive and also ask if you'd like to donate your dime to a local
non–profit organization. But, wait...for every bag incentive forwarded to charity, we will match that
donation; that's two donations for the price of one! For every reusable bag you use, 20Вў could go
to a local non–profit organization. Since we started (April–July 2017), 15,000+ reusable bags were
used in our stores. If all of those incentives had been converted, that would mean over $1000 per
month in donations!...show more content...

Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life
I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people
and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you
could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that
choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger
decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the
worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly,
simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher,
"Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end."
One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real
event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he
gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later,
she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited
for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said
that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her
parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made
a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories
such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me.
When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I
had so many friends and nothing bad ever happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a
new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small
school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering
what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no
not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had
stayed there. There are

Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be
graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr.
Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and
about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose
and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already
rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death
penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly
making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line.
I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a
tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk.
Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such
desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle
was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward
to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked
everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Persuasive Essay On College Education
College education will serve as a basis for someone's lifestyle if they work for it. This will open up
doors and release opportunities for individuals that want it. College graduates will gain more
intelligence than those that have only graduated high school. This type of constructionism will only
work if students have a motive to be successful. The price of a four–year degree is quite valuable.
College graduates have been proven to gain more money, learn an abundance of skills, and embrace
diversity.
To begin, college education has benefits that could go on forever. One of those advantages is the
amount of money college graduates earn. In the article called "Is College Worth It? Clearly, New
Data Say," by David Leonhardt, it describes the outcomes of having a degree and the assistance
behind that. The future of a human being depends on the financial support. As mentioned in the
text, "The pay gap between college graduates and everyone else reached a record high last year,"
(1). When jobs look at someone, it will become dependent upon past achievements or downfalls.
People will accept a person with a four–year degree over someone without college experience.
Individuals that gain more money, were most likely taught in college.
In opposition, student debt from college can create long years of struggling issues. Students may feel
like this is a disadvantage. According to the article, it mentions, "Among four–year college graduates
who took out loans, average debt is about

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

How To Write A Persuasive Paper
The importance of writing, I found, was in what you wrote about and its purpose, writing helps
you get your ideas on paper and improve simply things like sentences, punctuation, spelling, and
grammar. There are many types of writing for different purposes, for this semester we focused on
persuasive and research papers, but there is also poetry, fiction, creative, narratives, and even more..
I feel I have grown as a writer in the organization, wording and lead–ins of papers. I also feel I have
improved in my vocabulary and using different words to give the same meaning.
The greatest writing accomplishments, I noticed in my persuasive and research papers were in
connecting to the topic and lead–ins. In the research paper I improved in leading into the topic. My
research paper was about cloning and in it I stated, "Ian WIlmut, a embryologist, and Keith
Campbell, a cell biologist and embryologist, state in their book, The...show more content...
I liked how I used word phrasing in the persuasive paper. In the persuasive paper you had to
discredit the opposing side, I did this by stating, " Some parents and students argue that these
books should be banned, but they are mistaken and misrepresenting the view of the book". For
this I used different words and sometimes different orders to describe similar things and make it
sound more educated and believable. In addition, something I found good in my paper was my
discussions of the topics. In the persuasive paper about banning books I made a topic about why
they shouldn't be banned, saying, " ...taking these books off the shelves and out of schools they are
taking away students' First Amendment rights to choose what books they want to read". I used
good discussions to make my point about the topic and persuade people to see the way I wanted
them to. Conclusively, the persuasive paper was my favorite out of all the papers completed this

An Act of Kindness: A Persuasive Essay
An Act of Kindness
(Order #A2071175) There is a commercial on television, I forget what for, where one person
performs a small act of kindness towards another, followed by that person helping someone else,
and so on. The message here is that each act of kindness has a ripple effect throughout society and
can effect people who we do not even know exist. There is also a secondary lesson of this
commercial: eventually the acts of kindness return to the original person, indicating that kindness
can be circular and if we want to live in a society where people do nice things for one another, then
it begins and ends with us. This commercial indicates that acts of kindness are a way to improve
society and an individual's overall life. With this is mind, I would like to convey an example of how
I have been able to do my part in the overall circle of kindness by aiding a stranger who's car
battery had died and needed a jump. It began on my way home one day when I was forced to stop
for gas. At the gas station I was minding my own business when a stranger approached me and
asked if I had a set of jumper cables and if I could give him a jump. As a teenager being
approached by a grown man asking for help, thoughts of being kidnapped, tortured and murdered
filled my imagination. As he approached, my immediate reaction was to hope he would leave me
alone and continue walking, but he did not. Instead he came straight up to me and asked for my
help. I wanted to say that I did not have a

Persuasive Essay Voting
Voting for something or for someone in a big or small range cannot only affect you but, also other
in a huge scale, even the whole country or world. Although people take it for granted, voting is a
system, whose certain leaders and decisions and decided based on the population choice. However
in some cases this doesn't apply such as in the electoral college, and therefore not voting or making
the wrong choice within the imprecise popular votes and electoral vote ratio, it can actually make
a big difference in many aspects. So not a single system is perfect with a voting candidate decision
system, it will sometimes, or even always fail. Therefore voting not only involves the dragging
numbers to a point where a candidate can win even if most population hasn't voted or is against it,
but also the self decision on which how those numbers would drag, towards whom and the aftermath
of your single vote, especially in the USA voting system the electoral college.
The Electoral College is the current voting system of the USA to choose the president and the vice
president. However the winner is not decided by the popular vote, but the electoral vote, which are
the state representatives, 100 senators, two per state and 435 representatives and three electors,
making about 538 of the votes, so therefore, the popular votes then turn into electoral votes.
However with this system, the numbers aren't relay derived in terms of the popular vote, although if

Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art
Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and
communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's
views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border
this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from
the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying
definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent.
Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene,
from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic
interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as
a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more
consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared
to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely
range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If
an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with
it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill
Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where
an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is
easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or
racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as
simple.
A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San
Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric,
and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know
that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. A completely naked figure,

Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection
Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate
actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay
needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed,
I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as
well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the
weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these
suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive
essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay
would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not
being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that
wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be
persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the
experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your
readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing
your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument
was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why
I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this
helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would
have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but
one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more
clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my
clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a
persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers
can have a full understanding of your

Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication
In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience
in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having
well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of
writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again,
analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing
the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader.
In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online
English course. Each writing assignment...show more content...
Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more
academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the
discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT
Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is
chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing.
Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently
in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in
different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the
formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the
public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the
formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing
my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the
world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard.
Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a
decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). The formality

How To Write A Persuasive Essay
Writing essay is one of the things that I used to dislike before. For me, writing an essay was a
difficult and boring thing. However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment,
"Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me.
In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each
paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this
assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition
words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything
is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph
should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I
learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas. For example,
using the word, "in addition" , can make two paragraphs connect to each other. It also can make
readers understand the logic of an essay. Therefore, I' ve learned the writing skill which can make
each paragraph be connected from this assignment....show more content...
I really enjoyed it. As I was researching, I also could read other writer's literature. I notice that
using the quote or data can make the theme of an essay be stronger and more persuasive. For
example, I use the quote from Steven Crowder, the author of "TheTop 5 Reasons College May Be
Waste Of Time In 2015", to support my idea, going to college is unnecessary. The quote not only
can make an essay more cogent but also can make readers agree with writer's thinking. Thus, I've
learned to use the quote to make my essay to more

How To Make A Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay About Self Discipline Everybody at some point in their life has wanted to make a change, hopefully for the better. For most, it can take some serious self discipline to actually put these changes into full force. Here's a proposition: take the time out of the day to sit down and actually think about the outcomes of the problem, and then decide if it's worth going through the motions to make that change. Because everyone on this earth has a given amount of time everyday, no one can use the excuse that they don't have the time of day; that's bullshit. Yes, some may have a busy schedule but you have breaks throughout the day. May it be the required break they get from work, the commute from school to home, or when they're alone with their thoughts at night;...show more content... They should've known that they weren't truly alone, since the individual has been there for them always, but they really must've to think that their best friend wouldn't been with them the one time. The minute the individual found out about their friend's death, they started to crash and burn, tearing themselves apart, blaming themselves, saying that it's their fault that they couldn't save you since they didn't know. Their mental and physical state started to deplete and they've become accustomed to the numbness that has spread throughout their body. They start to eat unhealthily and just stop working out all together. Minor health problems start to invade their system, they get sick more easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they've been dealing with so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they'll be reunited with their best friend if they were to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they're thinking about meeting that fate sooner rather than later. But they don't want to really do this, they want to get better, but the rut they've created is so coarse and rugged that it'll be difficult to fix those problems. First off, the individual finally decides to go through with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Freedom Of Speech Freedom of speech in America is defined by the right to express any opinions without any censorship or restraint. But it isn't just defined by the words people speak aloud. It's the actions they take part in to support the words they express. The writing of books and essays, creating artwork, giving speeches to grand crowds, voting, protesting. But do all people have the right to speak their mind? Should people be able to speak freely, to express opinions and thoughts, as promised in the United States constitution? A controversial topic, with many different opinions weighing in from around the world. Speech is expression of thoughts, through many different actions. Some include writing, artwork, speeches, protests. On occasion in speaking...show more content... With all these truths, and the freedom to speak them, comes the question of who should hold the power and ability to speak their minds. In the United States, our society believes everyone should have the right to freedom of speech, to voice thoughts and opinions. Written down in the constitution is the promise to citizen rights, to all peoples who want to exercise those rights. "It was we the people; not we, the white male citizens," who built up our nation and society, and the promise to freedom of speech (Anthony, par. 4). Women, children, teens, those of color should all be able to speak freely, to give shape to the opinions they hold like all the empowered men that speak freely. Not all governments and nations feel the same about this. In Singapore, they have their "own standards of social order as reflected in [their] laws" (Reyes, par. 3). Different nations feel differently about human rights and laws as presented by the United States, including freedom of speech, whether it is safe for everyone to speak their minds or just best to keep it to those who are fed lies from those of a higher position. With freedom of speech can come violence, a common reason for nations and governments to deny this right. Some societies, such as Singapore, agree that by enforcing certain laws that abide the government keep said nation "orderly and relatively crime–free" (Reyes, par. 3). Freedom of speech can also mean Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Communication Essay Noor Douglah #1003169965 November 28, 2017 Communication Research Methods Donald Trump has suggested that a contest should be held as to which television network covers him in the most "dishonest, corrupt and or/distorted" way, as he has again labeled many of the outlets "fake news." It is one of some attacks by the president against the press coverage he receives, with the most vitriolic coming back in August when he referred the assembled journalists as "truly dishonest" and "sick people."Mr. Trump also used the term "your favorite president," a moniker he has used recently – that is despite his approval ratings telling a different story." Literature Review The press is basic to vote based system, and popularity based race is comprehensibly deprived of the press. An open and sensible contest is not only about the prospect of voting and the culture the way to make a selection, yet around a hands–on process where the electorates participate in the open verbal confrontation and provide adequate information on the meetings, approaches, competitors and the verdict process on the situation with a precise aim of settling on sophisticated choices. Besides, the press drives around as a critical watch to popularity founded decisions, defending the frankness in the procedure. During the 2005 gathering to commemorate World Press Freedom Day worldwide, an affirmation was formed which concentrated on "independent and mixed press are rudimentary for assuring forthrightness, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Plastics A substance so toxic that kills a great variety of our marine life such as whales, seabirds and any other animal that mistaken plastic for food. Generation through generation humans are culpable for the extinction of different species. When will this stop? Will it stop once every animal has gone extinct or once there is more plastic than fish in the ocean? What kind of planet do people would like to leave behind? Research made by Alexandra Sifferlin made for the Science magazine "Time". Found that 5 to 13 million metric tons of plastic made it to the ocean and it is predicted that my 2025, the annual cumulative output of plastic into the ocean will around 155 million metric tons. Time to take action. There is a solution to every problem and all it takes is for people to help. According to EcoWatch, Americans throw away around 35 billion plastic water bottles each year which takes from 500 to 1,000 years to degrade, meaning that every water bottle ever made is still somewhere in the ocean. How can a fish eat a water bottle? The intense sunlight breaks the plastic into tiny pieces, making it easier and more toxic for them to consume. There are different toxins in water bottles, however the most threatening one is called Bisphenol A also known as BPA. BPA is known for causing cancer in people. A recent study made by the University of Ghent in Belgium found that human seafood eaters ingest up to 11,000 tiny pieces of plastic every year, absorbing a high percentage into the digestive system. It is no mystery why the cancer rate has gone up in the last decades Since Americans eat fish on a weekly basis. Be part of the solution, not the problem, There is a variety of easy solutions to help the environment such as using reusable water bottles and bags, Do not throw trash on the floor since it ends up in the ocean. Use the 3 R's. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce the amount of waste produced since it takes hundreds of years for it to disintegrate. • 6. Persuasive Essay On Self Esteem Although self–esteem is something everyone has, it can sometimes be difficult to realize your worth. There are many tools that can raise your awareness of your self–esteem, and journaling is just one of them. Not only can journaling raise your self–esteem, but it can improve your overall physical and mental health (ref #5). On the surface, journaling is a relatively simple concept. You find a bound book you like, maybe something with a nice picture on the front, and either line or unlined paper on the inside, whichever you prefer. Then get a quality writing pen and start putting words on paper. While it seems simple enough sometimes people, especially those with low self–esteem, can turn journaling into a self–deprecating exercise, or they may have trouble moving the thoughts in their head to the page in their hands. In any event, there are a few simple guidelines that should be followed to make journaling effective in uncovering your self–esteem. First is to ensure that your journal remains private. You are the only one that is ever going to read it so do not be afraid to write as you see fit. No one is grading you on punctuation, spelling, or sentence structure so do not get caught up in the formality of writing. You can even add pictures or doodles on your pages if it helps you express your feelings. The other guideline to follow is that you are not allowed to bash yourself with negative writings. It is acceptable to write about your bad day or the mistake you made at work, however, do not bash yourself with comments such as "I am so stupid" or "I am too ugly". If these journal entries show up occasionally, especially at the start of your writing journey, it is acceptable. Just move on and do not beat yourself up over it, but keep at it and try to improve over time. Seek to find something good about yourself every day, no matter how small, because every positive thought counts. If you find yourself struggling to figure out what to write some days, there are several prompts that can get your thoughts moving in the right direction. If today was a relatively good day, you might write about why you enjoyed your day or things you are grateful for in your life. Conversely, if you had a particularly rough day Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. • 8. How To Make A Reusable Bag Persuasive Essay Did you know that we give you 10Вў for every reusable bag you use at the Co–op? We firmly believe that the absolute best shopping bag to use is a reusable bag. Reusing bags reduces waste, reduces energy use, and reduces materials needed for disposable bag production. And in many cases durable cloth or plastic bags can hold more without breaking or tearing. In April 2017, the Co–op recommitted to reducing bag waste in our community, by increasing our reusable bag incentive from 3Вў to 10Вў per reusable bag used. But, wait, there's more! In addition to increasing our bag incentive in April, we kicked off our Bag It Forward! donation program. Now, when you bring your bags, we'll offer you the 10Вў incentive and also ask if you'd like to donate your dime to a local non–profit organization. But, wait...for every bag incentive forwarded to charity, we will match that donation; that's two donations for the price of one! For every reusable bag you use, 20Вў could go to a local non–profit organization. Since we started (April–July 2017), 15,000+ reusable bags were used in our stores. • 9. Persuasive Essay On Choices In Life I believe that everyone in this life has choices. The choices we make define who we are as people and what we stand for. Choosing one path over another may be the best or worst decision you could ever make. However, once you have chosen, stick to your decision because you made that choice for a reason. Even if it is to have lunch at a certain restaurant over another, or a bigger decision like choosing your major. Something in your life helped you make that decision, and the worst thing you can do is live your life with the regret of a choice. If your decision ends up badly, simply make another choice. Choose a new path. In the words of my oh so wise History teacher, "Never second guess yourself because that's worse than making the wrong choice in the end." One of the best examples that comes to mind is a story I heard a few weeks ago, based on a real event. In 1979, a man named Lee Strobel and his family went to a restaurant one evening and he gave his 7 year old daughter a nickel to get a gumball from the machine and a few moments later, she came back to the table choking on the gum. They didn't know what to do and if they waited for an ambulance they feared it would be too late. All of a sudden, a woman came up and said that she is a nurse and can help. The woman, after getting the gumball out of the little girl, told her parents that her and her husband were headed to another restaurant when all of a sudden she made a last minute choice to go here. Because of her choice, a little girl's life was saved. Hearing stories such as this one, reminds me of all of the choices I have made, and how they have affected me. When I was 6, my family up and moved to a new school called Knox County. I loved it there for I had so many friends and nothing bad ever happened. Then at the end of 5th grade, my dad got a new job so we moved schools again. This time I was 11 and starting middle school at a small school called Pilot Grove, and I've been here ever since. There are times I catch myself wondering what would've happened if we had stayed in Knox or the first town I ever lived in, Philadelphia (no not the one in Pennsylvania). Sometimes I even believe that things would be a lot better if we had stayed there. There are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay On College Education College education will serve as a basis for someone's lifestyle if they work for it. This will open up doors and release opportunities for individuals that want it. College graduates will gain more intelligence than those that have only graduated high school. This type of constructionism will only work if students have a motive to be successful. The price of a four–year degree is quite valuable. College graduates have been proven to gain more money, learn an abundance of skills, and embrace diversity. To begin, college education has benefits that could go on forever. One of those advantages is the amount of money college graduates earn. In the article called "Is College Worth It? Clearly, New Data Say," by David Leonhardt, it describes the outcomes of having a degree and the assistance behind that. The future of a human being depends on the financial support. As mentioned in the text, "The pay gap between college graduates and everyone else reached a record high last year," (1). When jobs look at someone, it will become dependent upon past achievements or downfalls. People will accept a person with a four–year degree over someone without college experience. Individuals that gain more money, were most likely taught in college. In opposition, student debt from college can create long years of struggling issues. Students may feel like this is a disadvantage. According to the article, it mentions, "Among four–year college graduates who took out loans, average debt is about Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 13. How To Write A Persuasive Paper The importance of writing, I found, was in what you wrote about and its purpose, writing helps you get your ideas on paper and improve simply things like sentences, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. There are many types of writing for different purposes, for this semester we focused on persuasive and research papers, but there is also poetry, fiction, creative, narratives, and even more.. I feel I have grown as a writer in the organization, wording and lead–ins of papers. I also feel I have improved in my vocabulary and using different words to give the same meaning. The greatest writing accomplishments, I noticed in my persuasive and research papers were in connecting to the topic and lead–ins. In the research paper I improved in leading into the topic. My research paper was about cloning and in it I stated, "Ian WIlmut, a embryologist, and Keith Campbell, a cell biologist and embryologist, state in their book, The...show more content... I liked how I used word phrasing in the persuasive paper. In the persuasive paper you had to discredit the opposing side, I did this by stating, " Some parents and students argue that these books should be banned, but they are mistaken and misrepresenting the view of the book". For this I used different words and sometimes different orders to describe similar things and make it sound more educated and believable. In addition, something I found good in my paper was my discussions of the topics. In the persuasive paper about banning books I made a topic about why they shouldn't be banned, saying, " ...taking these books off the shelves and out of schools they are taking away students' First Amendment rights to choose what books they want to read". I used good discussions to make my point about the topic and persuade people to see the way I wanted them to. Conclusively, the persuasive paper was my favorite out of all the papers completed this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. An Act of Kindness: A Persuasive Essay An Act of Kindness (Order #A2071175) There is a commercial on television, I forget what for, where one person performs a small act of kindness towards another, followed by that person helping someone else, and so on. The message here is that each act of kindness has a ripple effect throughout society and can effect people who we do not even know exist. There is also a secondary lesson of this commercial: eventually the acts of kindness return to the original person, indicating that kindness can be circular and if we want to live in a society where people do nice things for one another, then it begins and ends with us. This commercial indicates that acts of kindness are a way to improve society and an individual's overall life. With this is mind, I would like to convey an example of how I have been able to do my part in the overall circle of kindness by aiding a stranger who's car battery had died and needed a jump. It began on my way home one day when I was forced to stop for gas. At the gas station I was minding my own business when a stranger approached me and asked if I had a set of jumper cables and if I could give him a jump. As a teenager being approached by a grown man asking for help, thoughts of being kidnapped, tortured and murdered filled my imagination. As he approached, my immediate reaction was to hope he would leave me alone and continue walking, but he did not. Instead he came straight up to me and asked for my help. I wanted to say that I did not have a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. Persuasive Essay Voting Voting for something or for someone in a big or small range cannot only affect you but, also other in a huge scale, even the whole country or world. Although people take it for granted, voting is a system, whose certain leaders and decisions and decided based on the population choice. However in some cases this doesn't apply such as in the electoral college, and therefore not voting or making the wrong choice within the imprecise popular votes and electoral vote ratio, it can actually make a big difference in many aspects. So not a single system is perfect with a voting candidate decision system, it will sometimes, or even always fail. Therefore voting not only involves the dragging numbers to a point where a candidate can win even if most population hasn't voted or is against it, but also the self decision on which how those numbers would drag, towards whom and the aftermath of your single vote, especially in the USA voting system the electoral college. The Electoral College is the current voting system of the USA to choose the president and the vice president. However the winner is not decided by the popular vote, but the electoral vote, which are the state representatives, 100 senators, two per state and 435 representatives and three electors, making about 538 of the votes, so therefore, the popular votes then turn into electoral votes. However with this system, the numbers aren't relay derived in terms of the popular vote, although if a state doesn't give to a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay On The Art Of Art Art declares many things. It's a way for people to articulate their views, express their emotions, and communicate to the world in a way that gives them creative release. This ability to exhibit one's views in a imaginative and safe manner is exceptionally important to society's growth, and to border this freedom to articulate is detrimental. Art should not be hidden and concealed permanently from the public eye because some see it as vulgar due to the fact that many people have varying definitions as to what is crossing the line. Only certain, obvious things can be noted as truly indecent. Censorship is not an easy subject. As an artist, there is often a lot of tolerance for the obscene, from appreciation to detail on the human figure or the unique renditions of animalistic interaction. However, the majority of the public might find the same things that the artists see as a unique interpretation as vulgar. It is easy to see that such a standpoint must be taken into more consideration, as the point of indecency can differ greatly for a conservative Christian compared to a liberal atheist. The two images of what each group considers unseemly would most likely range in their obscenity, and so it would be difficult to put a line where one should be crossed. "If an image offends very many people, sooner or later someone will invoke the law, and along with it judges, legislators, policymakers, and the police," quotes Melinda Hinkson in Australia's Bill Henson scandal: notes on the new cultural attitude to images. Here we have a majority rule, where an image should only have action dealt upon it if enough people want change. Such censorship is easy to determine when there are pieces depicting derogatory themes, such as child pornography or racial notions. But there are multiple cases where there are two sides of the story, and it is not as simple. A statue named Truth is Beauty by Marco Cochrane has recently been constructed in the city of San Leandro, here in the bay area. This statue depicts a nude woman dancing, her body semi–geometric, and although you can not vividly see the all of the womans body parts, it is not difficult to know that she is supposed to be depicted as naked. • 18. Reflection Of A Persuasive Reflection Reflection of a Persuasive Essay by Vickie Hale In my revision, I decided to incorporate actionable feedback from the feedback I received. The feedback I received was that my essay needed more clarification, I choose to use this feedback to help make my argument more developed, I wanted to create a better thought out essay and I worked on the clarification of my argument as well as renewed my research. With that, I did some critical thinking to help work through the weak areas of my essay which was the structure and syntax. Therefore, I incorporated these suggestions because they helped me to improve my essay and help me to create a more persuasive essay. Without these changes alongside the small revisions, I made, I do not believe my essay would have been as well–written so they were much needed. My biggest challenges came from not being able to pin down my argument, it took me a while to come find a side to an argument that wasn't vague. Because, I usually write in a creative way, which does not necessarily have to be persuasive, I usually write fictional stories and people getting the understanding from the experiences of the characters is the outcome, but with persuasive writing, you are trying to get your readers to not only agree with your side of the argument but to see what and why you are arguing your side in the first place. This became difficult for me because I kept feeling like my argument was not central and a little vague. I worked on trying to help my readers understand what and why I was arguing my side of the argument. I had to think about who was reading my essay and this helped. What I could have done differently is choose a more central argument, I believe it would have reduced my challenges. This question is hard for me to answer because I did not receive but one peer feedback, the feedback I incorporated concerning my exploration of the issue was more clarification because that was one of the problems my peer review pointed out. I worked on my clarification because it is one of the main elements, that is needed when you are writing a persuasive essay or any essay for that matter. Clarification gives the essay structure so your readers can have a full understanding of your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Speech : Effective Communication In writing it's important to have an understanding of what you're trying to convey for your audience in addition to how you you will present your ideas. Effective communication extends beyond having well organized writing expressed in complete and coherent sentences. The style, tone and clarity of writing must also be considered, as they are constantly changing relative to the audience. Again, analyzing one's audience and purpose is essential to successful writing. Appropriately, when choosing the most effective language, it is important to consider the document objective as well as the reader. In essence, this idea of effective use of language has been the overarching theme of this online English course. Each writing assignment...show more content... Thus, the style of language used within the text was often industry specific and possessed a more academic feeling. For example, in the text I often used abbreviations and slang acceptable within the discourse such as, SCM Supply chain management, KPI Key performance indicator, and RDT Resource dependence. The word choice in this assignment is indicative of that fact that language is chosen in a manner that is appropriate for both the audience and the purpose of the writing. Furthermore, perhaps the greatest contrast and the most evident of how language works differently in various types of writing is the discussion blog post. The blog post allowed the class to engage in different types of formality of language. The formality of the language one uses should match the formality of the situation and the relationship between the writer and reader. Therefore, as the public audience was a class of online students taking a required writing course in the summer, the formality of my writing has often been very informal. For example, in my blog post addressing my concern over the unworthy power of BeyoncГ© I wrote, "It was the year 2008 when the world was blessed with the images of BeyoncГ© (unapologetically) dancing around in a leotard. Not only is BeyoncГ©'s single lady video one of her most notable hits it begins her what is now a decade long relationship ending spree" (Marquis, 2016 ). However, I change my mind when I was doing the assignment, "Persuasive Essay". This essay is my first English essay, and it was a quite challenging task for me. In this assignment , I learned a lot. For example, to use the transition words to connect each paragraph. Also, to use other writer's words to make my idea be more powerful. Thus, this assignment improves my writing skills a lot. Before, I didn't know that I have to use the transition words in an essay. For me, an essay is constituted by many single paragraphs. However, everything is different when I was doing this assignment, Persuasive Essay. I noticed that every paragraph should support theme to make an essay stronger. Also, after Ms. Weller marked this assignment, I learned that using transition words can create a powerful link between my ideas.
