Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish… Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting The game is set in the Caribbean on a pirate ship at what looks like an island. To try
to get you immersed in world they do not play music. But what they did was play
the sound of things moving on the ship.
I think that this was achieved by recording
physical object and then manipulating them
Mood 0:00-0:04 the mood is calm so there is no music and you can just hear the sound of
ship parts moving.0:04- 00:46 there is a conversation with no music so you can tell it
is calm. 00:47-1:31 The mood is then threatening as Blackbeard tries to scare a
crew member, so there is background noise which is done to make him seem more
scary. 1:32-2:01 the is conversation so you can just hear the ship part moving
0:00-0:04 think they did this by physically
recording things moving and changing it in
software. 00:47-1:31 I think they did this by using
a orchestra to play the violin and then
manipulating in a software program to change it t
how the studio wanted it.
Game genre The game genre is an RPG open world game. There are many types of sounds you
could in RPG depending on the time it is set but in the 1700s where this is set a lot
of the noises would be swords, guns, bows, carriages and ships moving. In this scene
there wasn’t a lot of these but there was the sound of parts of the ship moving
I think they did this by physically recording things
moving and changing it in software
Narrative The narrative starts out as pleasant as black beard greets a character. The sound of
black beards speech is the lowered and you can hear anger and frustration. And
then Blackbeard’s voice gets louder and you can sense his frustration. Blackbeard’s
voice becomes a bit calmer as he is talking to character and goes back to sounding
very loud and intimidating as he is trying to scare another character on the ship. And
I think they did the narrative by having people
speak the lines into the microphone, and then the
studio might change it if they desire to (for
example if the wasn’t him to sound intimidating.

then it goes calm as he jokes with a character speaks they would have used software to but the
music behind the narrative.
