When it comes to smart phones, an SSL certificate works just the same as it does on any computing device. Smart phone users will be able to enjoy optimal protection and security when they visit any site that has a certificate that is compatible with smart phone browser

How SSL Certificates Work With Smartphones
1. How SSL Certificates Work With SmartPhones

2. Introduction
The age of the desktop computer is over. And that was to be
expected. While computers have been around less than a century,
we’ve already gone through several different ages at the
technology has evolved—each shrinking the size of the device to
fit better into our daily lives. If you’ll remember, at one-point
computers took up entire rooms and took push cards. Before too
long, we got desktop computers, which evolved into laptops and
now we’ve gotten to the point where tablets and smartphones
have become our computers.

3. Introduction
But just as there are security risks inherent with desktops and
laptops, there are risks that face tablet and smartphone users.
One of those risks, which faces any computer attempting to access
websites on the internet, is the threat of Man-in-the-Middle
attacks. MITM is a catch-all term that just refers to a specific
arrangement where there is a party between an internet user’s
browser and the server hosting the website they’re visiting.

4. Introduction
Man-in-the-Middle doesn’t even have to be malicious, it can be done
to perform traffic inspection, too. Unfortunately, when a malicious
actor can get in the middle of your connection (sometimes called
eavesdropping) it can steal data, such credentials, and financial
information, or inject its own content. This is hardly ideal.

5. Brief:-
SSL certificates help to guard against this by facilitating encrypted
connections between clients and servers. Now, it’s worth pointing
out that the SSL certificate itself doesn’t do the encryption—it
facilitates it. When you install an SSL certificate on your website
you can migrate to HTTPS, when a visitor arrives at the website
their browser makes sure the certificate is valid, then negotiates
with the server to determine the parameters of the encryption.
SSL/TLS has been a major part of web security since its creation in
the 90s. Logically, we would want our phones and tablets to have
the same protections as our desktop computers, too. Fortunately,
SSL works with mobile devices.

6. Brief:-
This wasn’t always the case. Early on some certificates didn’t
support mobile connections. But now that most of the major
browsers have released mobile versions, support for SSL/TLS is
universal.
There is one unfortunate drawback to SSL/TLS in its mobile
context, though. Whereas a desktop browser has more space in
its address bar, space is very limited on mobile devices. As a
result, some of the standard visual indicators don’t show up in
some browsers. For instance, Apple’s Safari browser only shows
the domain name and changes the color of the font based on
validation level. Google’s Chrome browser doesn’t show a unique
indicator for Extended Validation.

7. Brief
Overall, there is no uniformity in the way that indicators are
displayed on mobile (or on the desktop, too, for that matter). This
means that figuring out whether the website you’re on has HTTPS
can sometimes require a little more looking.
But make no mistake about it, SSL/TLS works perfectly on mobile,
which is vital considering more internet users are on their
phones.
