2. M&M enters bike market with 2
models
Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) on
Thursday entered the segment with the
launch of two models—Stallio and Mojo.
The entry-level 110cc Stallio is priced at
Rs 44,699 and would be endorsed by
Bollywood actor-director Aamir Khan.
The Mahindra Mojo 390cc will have a
premium tag of Rs 1.75 lakh.

Two-wheeler sales during April-August
this year jumped 27% at 46.21 lakh
units. Out of this, motorcycles sales
stood at 35.35 lakh units, a growth of
24%.

contracts worth Rs 449 crore between

5. Car sales jump in Sept; Maruti,
Hyundai cross new milestones
he country’s largest carmaker reported sales
of 1,08,006 cars (including exports) in
September, beating 1,04,971 sales in August.
Tata Motors sold 23,877 cars in September, a
jump of 31% while posted sales of 8,380
cars, a growth of 146% y-o-y.
Among the two-wheeler makers, market
leader Hero Honda posted sales of 4,33,000
vehicles, a growth of 8%while sold 1,88,005
vehicles in September, up 31% y-o-y.
6. Nikon Expects 5% of global
sales in 3 yrs from India
Japanese firm Nikon today said it expects its
Indian operations to account for 5% of its global
sales in the next three years.
At present, the company's subsidiary in the
country contributes around 1% to Nikon's total
sales.
Nikon India has reduced the prices of its digital
compact camera within the range of 9 per cent to
12 per cent starting this September.

The company plans to sell around 40,000
units of the new D3100 camera in the next
one year and maintain its 55 per cent share
in the Indian SLR camera market.
8. Zen Mobile aims 7-10% market
share, to launch more models
Zen Mobile will launch at least two 3G
handsets priced between Rs 3,500-Rs
5,000 in November this year.
Zen Mobile aim to triple our market share
to 7-10 per cent from the present 2.5 per
cent by FY 11.
Zen Mobile is eyeing at least a Rs 500
crore revenue from both domestic and
overseas markets by end-this fiscal.
