3. Disclaimer
While I do have 5 years plus of full time internet marketing experience and I train a lot of
entrepreneurs – you must not just presume that everything that I have written here will work
for you.
I offer no promises at all – sorry.
I purchase dozens of courses just to see who has what new technique to offer, I test as many of
those on my own websites or on my clients websites – with their permission.
But none of that proves anything.
BUT, I live the life, I read and research and test all the time, I belong to forums and mentoring
and mastermind groups – it is my passion.
I have worked from home with a 100% full time income from internet marketing for the last 5
years, I spend time with my family as and when they need me, I choose the pace at which I
wish to work sometimes doing 18 hour days and other times not doing any work at all for a few
days at a time.
Never in my life have I found such a rewarding way to live than what I am able to do with my
computer.
There are thousands of different ways to apply your skills.
Personally I have quite a few income streams, some earning enough to be considered a full
time income.
I write this here for you, and promise you that beginner and experienced marketer alike will
get some useful information from this report.
I also do not claim to be any good at spelling and grammar – ignore the mistakes please –
and rather gain extreme cutting edge marketing knowledge from me here in this report.
4. Disclaimer number two
My ulterior motives for writing this report and then giving it away so freely…
I am a one man business ergo I cannot just add clients by the dozens. Now because of this
simple fact I am very likely fully booked or close to that all the time and therefore it is better
that I write out this type of detailed report for everyone to read and that stops me getting
emails asking basic stuff from the very beginning.
So I save a ton of hours explaining all this how-online-income-works stuff.
This report is designed to filter those of you who are serious about working online and cut out
those who think there is such a thing as a short cut to easy money somewhere in this world of
ours.
There is – buy lotto tickets and hope like hell you will win.
I am not saying that you cannot contact me at all, but if you have been through this report
with a fine toothcomb – then it will be a lot easier for us to talk about fine tuning your online
ideas, rather than me trying to explain the difference between affiliate marketing and CPA
marketing to you.
So my point is that this report will inform you about everything and send you in the correct
direction without you having to email me questions.
But I am always available to answer any questions you might have.
I will be adding affiliate links to different things that you might need. That is another of my
income streams (and it works very well thank you)
But I do not just add any bullshit affiliate link just to milk money from you – the ones that I do
recommend are the best of the best.
Courses that will fit your needs
If you read this report from start to end you will understand what I am talking about here.
I will give you the knowledge to choose the perfect way for your personal skills and
experiences, education and passion to be applied into the perfect business model for your
future life.
You can thank me later
5. Disclaimer number three
I refuse to try to cut this report down to headline type bullet points and short explanations. I
am a person who loves to add examples and explain some things in detail - or worse, over and
over again. If that is likely to piss you off, you will need to have to stop reading now.
I do things my way and love it – you will just have to come along with me for the ride.
I do promise you that I am damned good at this malarkey – Five years of being so
passionate about something will definitely make anyone very good at doing it.
Let us get started
6. Your education and help starts here…
Overall Online money making view
The secret to making money online or starting any business for that matter is having a bird’s
eye view of how the whole system works.
That way you can choose the best fit for you personally – and immediately know what to
target so that your income grows at a happy rate.
I have spent hundreds of hours explaining this to people as the basics for everything
they need to understand before they do anything EVER online.
Number one – Online is just as complex as off line
An amazing amount of people think that the internet is simple, you either have a business
website, a blog, a shopping website or a social website and then one of those becomes your
business model. They do get that there are details below the surface like building websites,
apps, coding or doing SEO services – but a lot of the time see the opportunities as only a
choice of a few ways to make money.
Oh, not forgetting the multi-level marketing options. I have tried those a long time ago in my past and will
NEVER do so again. But if you like that sort of thing – be my guest.
If you said to me “Rob Please find me a job” naturally referring to a normal off line job, I
would have to ask you a dozen questions.
There are thousands of different types of “jobs” in the world.
Each will need a different level of skills etc.
Online is exactly the same.
There are thousands of different ways you can make money online and just like offline your
experiences, knowledge and skills will determine if you are capable of doing any of those
income generating opportunities that this online wonder called the internet will work for you
or not.
7. Number Two – There is some very good news
The brilliance of making money online is that a very large portion of the opportunities
are in fact easy to do, easy to understand and as long as you actually work – you will
succeed.
You will need to learn some basic stuff and more, but as long as you are capable of reading and
writing in your chosen language, you will succeed if you actually make the effort.
The Birds eye view
Before I go into detail on all the different types of choices you have available to you in your
chosen method of making money online I will list a few of the biggest methods that are
probably earning the bulk of the money for people all over the world online these days.
The idea is for me to explain it in enough detail for you to realise that you either love that
method or are glad you found out you hate it before you wasted time trying out a website
business within that niche.
So, while I have already told you that there are thousands of ways to make money online there
are about 10 big and popular ways to make money. From those 10 are another 20 offshoot ways
to make money. Then within those offshoots there will be other offshoots that could still earn
you a very decent living.
I will list them here and add some points as to what skills you will need to become part of that
method of earning an income.
Before I start – I need to tell you this point and make it very clear!
When I say you do not need to spend any money on an idea or online business model, I am
probably not including the fact that for 99% of the opportunities you will need a domain ($12
ish annually) and Hosting ($10 ish per month).
8. You could do a massive amount of different income generation methods without a website at all
but it just makes sense to have a “home base” website anyway. You decide.
Then there is the building of your website, your keyword research, your niche research and a
few things like banners and headers that you could learn how to do yourself or pay a person to
do that for you upfront. If you choose that way, you will pay a fee in the beginning – but then
your website will be built and earning you money a lot faster than if you spent three months
fiddling with the build and layout of your new website.
Again, your choice - as it is dictated by the amount of money you have available to
start online.
It is obviously better to have it built for you, but if you do not have the money then go and
learn how to do it yourself. I must add here that you MUST get past this step very fast (days)
so that you can then go on to the actual money making work as fast as possible.
In each of these main money making categories I will add these questions
below and give you short answers for each one.
Do you need a website?
Do you need any skills at all?
Do you need complicated skills?
Do you need to spend money?
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Would I need one or many websites?
They are in no particular order
I have another interruption here and it is vitally important.
While I have listed 26 different main birds’ eye view categories here below you need to know that
a lot of them could easily be combined into one big business.
For example you could choose to start a business on one of your passions.
Random example = dating.
This would potentially fall under a few of the categories I have listed below. It would be a blog, it
will become an authority site, you could add your own products, reports or software as the site
grows. You could easily add a forum, social media site, and apps etc as the site gets busy. Then
9. you will need a membership section and could even have affiliate programs of your own selling
your software and courses. Email marketing would have become a vital part of your business.
Do you see?
While I try to explain each section to you in general, in reality a lot of them will need to
be combined as part of your business model.
Naturally if you are a newbie then you will start small and grow each additional section as and
when you need it and have learned how to incorporate it to your online business.
So the bird’s eye categories are just to give you a better understanding of how and why
each section functions, and what you would need to know or do to add that as a
business or income stream.
The whole point is to give you the opportunity to choose the correct
section/field/niche BEFORE you start.
A bit like knowing you want to be a degree professional or a storekeeper or a service provider
or a factory worker in an offline job before you get to start that job or business.
Bored already?
Not taking the time to do your research will only hurt those who are not serious about making
money, so I thought to interrupt here to remind you that owning and running a business takes
time and effort.
BUT I WILL TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE MONYE HERE IN ONE SIMPLE SENTENCE
Build a very big authority website (meaning many many many pages and posts) when it is so
big you will have thousands of visitors and then you can sell them something
(OK, Rob, Is this true? – yes, but if you stop reading this report, and do not know
which type of big authority website to build and how to build it – then you will make a
tenth of what you could have made if you followed my research advice)
10. 1. Writing Content for others
Description – You write content for other website owners. You write content for other
online properties too – like FaceBook posts, or for someone’s email auto responder
series.
This is the fastest way to start to earn money online.
You join the article writing websites and if you are approved you get paid to write articles for
people.
Here are some links to a few article writing services
Not all will be free to join – But until you have researched all the options you will not know
which the best fit is for you.
https://www.elance.com/r/jobs/q-Article%20Writing
http://www.indeed.com/q-Article-Writer-jobs.html
http://www.articleteller.com/seo-writing-jobs
http://www.iwriter.com/
http://create.demandstudios.com/
http://www.ehow.com/
https://tutsplus.com/
http://tenbux.com/
http://fiverr.com/
https://www.elance.com/
https://www.odesk.com/
http://writersweekly.com/
You could advertise your article writing services in the classified sites, but very often you will
need to pay for those adverts.
A good option is to write groups of articles (10 or 20) at a time and sell them in packages.
You could also spin those articles and add the spun versions to the buyer as part of a bigger
package.
EG – You write 20 articles on smelly feet (you do research first for keywords)
11. Then you personally spin those articles using the better spinners.
I use these guys http://www.spinrewriter.com/?ref=7fce
Now if you spin an article properly, you will be able to produce 50 to 100 articles from each
original article and then you add that to the buyer’s package.
That way they get 2000 usable articles.
They would publish the 20 original ones on their money site – and then keep on adding the others
to all the other online places like blogger – and on each one it would publish up to 20 of those
spun versions. They should mix and vary their publishing, but that is not your problem, they just
buy the content from you.
You could charge up to $300 for a package like that.
You could build a website and get it ranked in the search engines – and get a lot of
article inquiries, but owning a website in this niche is more of a luxury than a
necessity.
IF you want to be really professional about your article writing you will definitely need a
website and decent examples of your work. (With a business model like this you could
earn $6000 a month.) Then you could canvass for clients – not that hard to do (if you order
your hosting through me or build a website through me – I will give you a step by step plan on
how to get those clients – remind me that I said so here in this report)
This example type of service sort of falls into the same as examples 10 and 11 below this.
That would be other services like translation, transcription and other virtual assistant types of
online work.
There is a massive need for these services online, and if you need money very fast this could be
the way.
My Opinion – Hard work! I tried it and doing the research for the articles is OK, it was typing
article after article that got to me. I felt trapped fast. However there are people who love typing
and judging by the millions of secretaries that are working for a boss out there a lot of people are
capable of doing this. I suggest this type of business only as a stepping stone to your own written
products or courses. IE cash flow.
Yet, having complained here about typing boring me, I have just spent many hours writing this
report out for you, and it is 60 plus pages, and have enjoyed every minutes of it.
Do you need a website?
Not really. However it would be an advantage, a "home base" to showcase examples, offer specials,
lead generation, looks more professional, etc
Do you need any skills at all?
12. Yes you need to be able to write in your chosen language with English being the most popular
by far. The better your English writing and spelling etc skills are the more you will earn
Do you need complicated skills?
No – see above – Unless you get big in this field and have writers working under you
contracting out to you. Even at that level you will not need exceptional management skills.
Do you need to spend money?
No. Not even for a website. Even when you have reached a certain level of demand for your
services you could even use the free websites (But I definitely do not recommend that)
You could spend money to have quality advertising online in the classifieds or on Google, but
generally this is very low capital intensive. No money needed can be a big advantage
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Your orders will be for a big variety of researched subjects and most of the time you will be
given a list of keywords only.
You will then do the research and write out the articles. Speed is vital here
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Remember you are trapped by the amount of hours in your day. So it comes down to how
much you charge for your articles, and how efficient you are during your research time and
finally your typing speed.
Someone who is busy all day and charges a little for their articles will only earn $ 1 500 a
month
The top guys are getting $ 6 000 a month
Even if you do your research fast, type like a demon you will still have a ceiling to your
potential earnings. You could become popular and ask premium prices, but will still always be
restricted.
You could get writers to work under you and grow that way.
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
If you try hard you could earn money within days of starting.
Unfortunately in the beginning you will be paid low amounts while you gain a bit of a
reputation.
Lowest pay would be $1.50 per article and if you type fast you can do about 4 an hour.
Average pay is $5 to $7 per article and most people average only three an hour. Many work less
than 6 hours a day. So you average potential is $15 to $20 per hour.
13. However the better article writers are able to get $50 to $500 easily – it is a matter of building a
reputation.
Truthfully rather work on half those numbers as a reality – with research time and FaceBook
etc factored in.
Remember to research these numbers yourself without blindly believing me.
Would I need one or many websites?
None (maybe one)
2. Writing books/ebooks Fiction and Non fiction
Description – You write fiction and nonfiction eBooks and books that will be
marketed online by other websites like Amazon.
This group or section overlaps with the courses and own products described in section 6 below.
This is perhaps the best option for making money online or offline in the world these days.
Write a decent book or five – publish it on Amazon in both eBook form and as a hardcover
and soft cover and do the marketing correctly and you could literally retire within a year.
This is no lie.
While there are thousands of eBooks added to Amazon everyday and a massive amount of
those are failing completely, there are some easy to follow basic things that you could do to be
one of the winners and not a loser in this genre.
Both fiction and nonfiction authors are making very good full time livings from simply writing
books and adding them to the right places online.
Five books would be better to start with than one, and 20 would be even better, but the
potential here is so big I will not even be able to start to explain it properly to you in this short
description here.
If you think you can write – now it the best time EVER to begin.
Do you need a website?
Not really, but having one would help your marketing. Both free and self hosted sites will work
Do you need any skills at all?
14. Duh! Some writing skills would help. But there are many bad writers who are not put off by
not having those skills (see 50 Shades of Grey)
Do you need complicated skills?
It would not hurt to know how to do character development and stuff like that.
If you are not sure, do how-to-books in the beginning, then you just have to have decent
content.
Do you need to spend money?
Not really, you can get away without spending a cent easily. But equally if you promoted a bit
with some money it would hurt
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
You do need to know the steps to go through and the sequence proven by previous writers
who have written reports etc for you to follow.
Hitting the bestsellers lists is not just a fluke and you do need to promote your book in a
certain step by step plan to get that initial attention that will get you sales which will keep you
on the bestsellers lists.
I do know of some great courses. Contact me for the most up to date courses.
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Unlimited income
You could write and publish 5 books and never make a cent, or you could publish one book
and retire forever. There is a definite need to do your research properly into the niche you
plan to write in – but that can be made safer (risk wise) by following a set script/plan.
I have heard of school kids who are earning $2500 a month from three books.
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Expect to work hard and write for long hours, but you will only see real money after about 60
days from first publishing. Not only that sometimes your book will not “feature” until you have
10 or 15 published, but after that you will more than likely be 100% fine (full time income) if
you did it right.
I have been dreaming about writing eBooks for publication on Kindle for years and while I do
write reports – like this one – I wish I had the available time to just sit down and write 20 story
books.
It is definitely planned for in my own personal near future.
Would I need one or many websites?
None or one at the most
15. Having a personal website when you are an established author is a must, and if you do not
start it in the beginning, some bonehead will buy your names domain and then charge you a
lot of money to get it back.
Do yourself a big favour and at the very least buy your personal names domain.
You can always install the actual site once you are published.
Like mine http://robertbruceanderson.com/
Please do not judge that site as the only fun part of the whole site is the “about me” section,
the rest really needs work.
3. Blogging / Authority sites
Description – You write content and “blog” about a chosen subject or niche and
over time get a following of targeted visitor traffic and earn via your blog or
website
It is a bit naughty to title this section like this as the blogs online are all just websites really
these days (IE every blog is a website and every website should be a blog – a content managed
system website like Wordpress)
Plus the definition for “authority” websites is a little blurred; it really just means a website with
more than about 30 pages, which cover a lot of site.
But it is also more than that, so let me explain.
If you chose a niche that was your passion and it was researched to prove that there are
interested buyers in that niche then your blog (website) will almost certainly be a success if
you follow some very basic rules.
Then the more you blog (add content) the more your site will become an authority site.
As long as you do not do anything to irritate Google your blog (business) will grow at a very
fast rate and could make you very wealthy.
What are those rules and steps needed to keep Google happy?
And how do you build it, research it etc?
I will add a list of courses at the end of this report for you to go and look at – or you could
YouTube train (very reckless) and save money.
How do you monetize this type of business?
16. So many ways you would be shocked. It is almost true to say “write it and they will come”
But the monetisation is so varied from niche to niche that you would need to do a bit of
research into that – or hire me to do it for you.
You could do affiliate stuff, Google adsence, your own product or reports etc.
Do you need a website?
Ha-ha, Funny. NEVER use the free websites for this business model.
And yes you will need hosting, domains and will need to use a decent CMS publishing system
like Wordpress. All the good quality stuff will be found in the links at the bottom
All covered in extreme detail in many of the courses I can send you to.
Starting from as low as $9
Do you need any skills at all?
Actually if you have chosen a niche that you love then you will know everything about the
subject and never have a problem. If you chose a popular (money) niche like weight loss,
forex, haemorrhoids etc – you might need to do research, but nothing you cannot cope with.
Do you need complicated skills?
Nope, unless your chosen niche is a complicated subject, like Nuclear physics
Do you need to spend money?
Not really – Unless you choose to pay for you traffic and not do SEO organic development.
Both are good options. Need to know more? Ask me.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
See skills above. Really the hardest part is subject knowledge and the site building (which you
could contract out)
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Unlimited
If you choose a big traffic niche that is full of buyers seeking solutions you could be richer than
you can imagine.
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
This is perhaps the one section where your earnings will be the most varied.
Your choice of niche will drastically affect your income, but having said that you could start to
see income from organic search results as fast as the second month.
17. Obviously if you paid people to build you the sales funnel part of your business, then paid
people to build your website and do your research etc, then you bought traffic to your website
– you could start to earn a lot of money within a few weeks.
This is a perfect example of your time VS money – meaning that you could spend money to
make money faster, or you could spend time learning and applying those skills and will earn as
long as you keep on adding correct content and doing linking etc.
Would I need one or many websites?
Definitely one, but after that would depend upon you as you could repeat a smaller business
model (see my links at the end of this report for a perfect method to use with this income
type)
So, you could do just one website and over time it will be a massive authority site, with a
membership section and a forum etc, or you could do many smaller niche sites.
Both work very well.
4. Affiliate marketing
Description – You promote other peoples products or services for a referring
commission – sometimes as high as 100%. You build the website or online properties
just as a catchment system to get interested people to then be able to refer them on to
the affiliate program. Sort of like a commission only job – without the overheads
Affiliate marketing is perhaps the easiest and safest business model to pursue as a
business online.
The reason I say this is that you get to choose from thousands of different niches, you get to
follow some very easy to do steps when building your business and best of all your income is
residual.
That means that you can earn money from anywhere in the world – as long as you have a
laptop/computer and an internet connection.
You never need to deal with customers.
Once you have built a website and it is earning you can put it into a maintenance section and
build another and another.
If you built just two mini sites at a time (each mini site takes between two and three months
to build), and each only earns you an average of $200 a month, then at the end of a year your
income will be $2400 a month. That would be if they were all averaging only $200 each, but
what if they were at $500 each or $1000 each?
18. $6000 per month is great money in anyone’s world, and remember that all this is residual, all
you need to do to those websites is to add about 4 pages a month and do a bit of new back
linking.
If you worked full time for two years you could literally retire forever as long as you maintain
those websites. If you paid me to build you that many websites it would cost you only $24 000
(24 sites x $1000)
That works out at half the cost of buying a normal business/franchise.
If you did all the work yourself it would cost you as little as the price of the domains and a
single hosting package.
What sorts of affiliate sites are popular?
You will find an affiliate program for almost every single type of product out there.
Go look at (and join them for that matter) these websites…
https://www.jvzoo.com/
http://www.clickbank.com/
Go through the marketplace in those two sites and see how many thousands of types of
affiliate products are on offer.
But if you want to see how easy it is to find an affiliate program try this …
Search Google for your favourite “thing” and add affiliate program to the search
Like this “scrapbooking affiliate program”
I did it and saw a bunch of options that might be worth looking into.
Something you definitely NEED to know
There are many different types of buyers.
A potential buyer looking up something like “learn how to do charcoal drawings” is far less
likely to buy what they find that very instant than a buyer who is looking up “how to cure bad
breath” two days before a big new date.
A well respected marketer used to teach us that those buyers are ones with their hair on fire.
He correctly pointed out that someone with their hair on fire would think about that problem
every second of the day – until they found a solution.
Do you need a website?
19. With affiliate marketing there are still a lot of different ways of marketing those products
including social media sites like FaceBook, YouTube, Pinterest and a lot more.
But the correct answer is yes you do need a website. You could pay for your traffic or set up a
great organic search site and then still turn that site into an authority website.
Alternatively you could build smaller 25 page sites that are all targeting an extremely focused
area or type of buyer, and build up a dozen mini sites.
Please understand that this section is all about the types of opportunities or money making
methods online and that with all of these methods where you will be needing a website you
will still have to follow a set method of building your website, your SEO stuff, your back
linking structures etc.
That is all covered in the links at the end of this report.
Do you need any skills at all?
The truth is – not really, as you will research your subject properly each time you plan to add a
page or a post.
Plus the longer you work on your website the more likely you are to become one of the leading
specialists on that subject or niche.
Finally if you are already an expert in the niche it will be a very big help as you will be able to
simply write straight out of your head as you go along.
I am doing that right now. How am I doing?
Do you need complicated skills?
Initially it seems to everyone that building the website and doing research for your niche, your
keywords, your buyers and your products is hard, but in fact it is all very simple, albeit new.
New is just that, as soon as you are shown how to do something, and then you do it a few
times it becomes really easy.
This is like that.
Is it hard to write out a word doc?
Then to turn it into a PDF?
Then to email that to someone?
Well this business is about that hard.
Learning how to drive was harder.
Do you need to spend money?
Yup, huge money with me
20. Just joking, like everything online you can do it for dirt cheap if you have to.
The real cost here is time vs money. The longer you take to do it the free way by yourself, the
longer it takes you to make money at the other end.
So it can be foolish “economy” as you could take a year to learn how to do a website set up
correctly and then only start to earn money, or you could pay others to build the site for you
faster and earn within a few weeks.
You should not need to pay more than $1000 for a complete affiliate site to be built for you,
and you could have a site set up from marketers like myself for as little as $200 – with training,
research etc all built in.
You will always have the cost of your domains and the hosting.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
See the skills question earlier, but basically you will learn as you go along. Most of the time
you will have chosen a niche that you are interested in and probably have some knowledge
about that subject already.
How much can there be to learn about constipation? (Very profitable niche)
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Smaller affiliate niches can have a regular monthly potential of as little as $500 a month but
others can easily get you more than $10000 a month.
A very varied choice of products and services are available online and almost all of them have
affiliate programs.
Very distracting to someone like me who researches for clients all the time and then see some
really great niches just sitting there wide open -
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Depending on how you set up your marketing machine, and how fast you do that you could
begin to earn money within a week, but normally it takes about two months or more
depending almost entirely upon your speed of “building” the site.
You would also need to remember that you will be constantly adding new websites or online
properties or just growing the first one, and that will double your income every six months or
so.
If you paid for traffic you could start to earn money within days of finishing your sales funnel
set up.
Would I need one or many websites?
Your choice on this issue
21. Personally I would caution you to learn and start slowly.
At one stage I had over 200 online properties (websites – sub domain, add on domains, folder
domains etc) and was totally unable to cope with them all.
I suggest that you do not do more than 4 at a time – and four will keep you busy all day every
day if you are doing it right.
Two sites would be better.
5. Membership websites
Description – You build a website that is the equivalent of an online magazine or club
where people are happy to pay you a monthly fee for what you supply them. This could
be training, news, content, videos and a dozen other things. Clubs and magazines are a
proven model – you just mimic what is already successful and earn a beautiful residual
income.
Building a membership website is one of the strongest online business models simply because
you combine two things – people’s passion for an item/product/service/subject and the fact
that they pay a recurring monthly fee to belong to your site.
This gives you massive stability from an income point of view.
The popular memberships sites are the following…
(I am taking this out of my head as I type – so I might forget a few)
Training – People are very willing to pay a monthly fee for a few weeks or months of training
in a subject that they want to improve themselves in. Photoshop, make money online, art,
cooking, baking, kids stuff, educational etc
Hobbies – If they are passionate about their hobbies – they will pay to be surrounded by like-minded
friends. Toy trains, radio controlled models, paper crafts etc. thousands of options
here.
Interests – This is basically any magazine you have ever seen on the bookshelves from fashion
to body building.
Sports – Sort of the above, but sports fans are amusingly fanatic.
I would pay for a decent formula one membership site.
How does it work?
22. You set up a Wordpress site adjust it so that there are different levels of access – free, gold
level, silver level, platinum level etc, and then you add content that is really valuable and
interesting enough to keep people paying to belong to your club.
There are membership business models that just deliver the content via email for a set period
of time.
I personally thing those are likely to be “light-in-the-pants” or if you prefer - a bit weak.
Do you need a website?
I would say definitely yes – see my last line above.
It should be wordpress – they have the best and easiest membership systems available
Do you need any skills at all?
Definitely – on the subject you are offering on your membership website.
BUT, let me give you a quick (great) example for a membership site.
You start a fishing membership site.
You build it etc…
Then 80% of your new added content will be interviews you do (on video) at the actual places
where people are catching fish.
So you spend a weekend at a lake interviewing 20 people. Then on Monday you publish those
interviews.
You get the interviewees to have free membership for a month, and they must share the video
via FaceBook etc. Their friends can also have a free membership for 30 days.
Plus you add general fishing stories facts etc. Just like a magazine.
This is very lightly described here; I could do more details for you if consulted.
Do you need complicated skills?
If you had the website built, and you were already skilled in the subject of your niche, you will
not need more.
If you are not skilled on the subject yet, your constant daily research will make you an expert
within days.
Do you need to spend money?
Not really, unless you pay to have it all built for you (the membership site)
You could also contract staff to go and do the interviewing/content creation and even the
posting and maintaining of the site.
23. Or you could do it all yourself without needing to spend big money
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Eventually. See the comment two questions higher
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Massive – But it will be strongly linked to the demand for that service/membership. For
example there might only be 100 000 potential toy train fans out there so you could only ever
have a club size of a few hundred members.
BUT if you had the biggest soccer (football) site, you could have a million members all paying
you $5 a month. Would $5 million a month be enough?
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Unless you buy visitors/traffic you should expect to work on the site at least 50 hours a month
and not see any income for the first four months at all. BUT once your members start to join
you can buy traffic and grow faster.
Would I need one or many websites?
Most of the time one is enough. But you could choose to build “automatic” membership sites
that release the content at a preset schedule. That way once it is built you could go on and
build another. This works for smaller training sites, like Photoshop courses, or how to build
garden structures, or abc of book keeping etc.
6. Your own products/courses/software
Description – You are the “vendor” or the owner of the rights to sell these products. You
create books, products, courses, videos and software and then build a website to sell
those items for you. You could also add your own affiliate program where others could
sell your products for a commission from your business to them.
This is the sort of business model that the “start up” guys are in to and what we lie in bed at 3
am dreaming about.
It is not actually that hard to set up or start, but requires a lot more capital and commitment
than just trying to earn residual income in your pyjamas.
You can compete with the very big boys if you like and even succeed easily. This model is
simply creating a decent product and pricing it correctly for a hungry market.
(As opposed to a social media site – this is much more fickle)
24. On a small scale
You produce a course, an app, a plug-in for wordpress etc and market it as a standalone item
Easy to do and can work very easily. Research will show you exactly what people are looking
for and then you build it/write it/design it and offer it to them via marketing methods that are
proven to work.
On a Bigger scale
You design stuff like Adobe, Skype – on the software side or produce massive college level
courses and promote on a large scale.
Also easy to do, just takes more time and money.
Do you need a website?
Definitely and it might need to be custom coded
Do you need any skills at all?
Definitely – unless you hire the experts
Do you need complicated skills?
Definitely – just your business skills need to be top-drawer, as you will be in business
competing against the best out there
Do you need to spend money?
Yes
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
If not you personally then the people you hire
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Unlimited
Want an example? This guy learned how to build Wordpress custom themes. When I
discovered him about three years ago he had a website with about 500 members, and we were all
paying him $29 a year.
So his income a month back then was $1200 a month (Ok – I admit I am not 100% sure of these
early numbers)
BUT today he has 200 000 customers @ $39 a year. That translates into about $650 000 a
month. Nice going huh?
25. Want to know who he is?
http://small-business-opportunities.co.za/themes
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Could be a year or two, the smaller scaled stuff will start to earn as fast as you promote it
which should be around three months
Would I need one or many websites?
One should be enough, unless you build small marketing niche sites for your product
7. Amazon Affiliate
Description – You join Amazon’s affiliate program and promote physical products to
potential buyers. This can be done through either owning websites or through social
media. The options are very vast from cameras to facial creams. Amazon sells billions
of dollars a year – get your share.
This method of making money online is extremely popular and there are many hundreds of
thousands of people earning a full time income doing this.
You could either build a massive authority website in a specific niche (eg exercise equipment)
and get thousands of articles etc ranked and earning for you.
Or, you could build extremely targeted small well designed sites going for long tailed
keywords. (EG gym equipment for the over 60’s)
You could ever just market via YouTube, forums, and social sites and via article writing – but I
do not suggest any lazy short cut methods.
There are hundreds of ways to do this correctly and sadly thousands of ways to do it wrong.
Do you need a website?
I do suggest it
Do you need any skills at all?
Nope, just the ability to write and research
26. Do you need complicated skills?
no
Do you need to spend money?
Just on your website and buying traffic if you prefer that method
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
No, a little research is enough
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Big, but depending on your efforts and how many websites you build. Laziness is not a good
thing here; you need to always be current and up to date
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Depending upon your skills in researching a niche – within a few days but probably a few
weeks.
Would I need one or many websites?
Either one big one or many mini sites
8. CPA Marketing
Description – CPA means Cost Per Action. You promote products or services (there are
millions) that pay you for the action a potential buyer takes from your link. They could
be asked to give their email address and you earn from that, or just clicking might earn
you a commission. A Very popular income model
This method needs you to really be on top of trends to work the best, but works with other
markets too.
What I mean is that tons of traffic is normally the best for this form of making money. You
find a new product that is being promoted via CPA (like green tea diets) and then apply highly
targeted marketing skills to build traffic sources.
OR
You choose a CPA product like weight loss and build a big authority site that grows all the
time, so that when a new CPA product is launched you already have the website machine to
promote it.
There are also some fantastic CPA products like car hire that might be worth promoting
27. Do you need a website?
50% of the marketing methods used for CPA need a website
Do you need any skills at all?
Not really, but you need to be able to research and write/create content. You will need to
know which marketing methods to use.
Do you need complicated skills?
As your marketing skills grow, so will your ability to earn big money
Do you need to spend money?
Only if you buy traffic
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Not really. Your research will cover it
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Unlimited
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Depending upon how you market. If you use social media or buy traffic then you will earn as
soon as your landing pages/links are live
Would I need one or many websites?
That depends upon your marketing style. I would suggest that you mix this method up with
other methods and get multiple income streams.
9. Offline Marketing
Description – This niche offers services to offline businesses that need online services.
You would do a large variety of services, like website building, SEO, Maintenance,
Mobile sites, Video marketing and a lot more. This one can go hand in glove with the
outsourcing business model.
This is the niche I am fairly active in. I build websites and do content creation for clients.
If you looked at the short description above you will see that there are many services you can
offer offline businesses.
28. I suggest that you learn how to do a single one properly first and then do that a lot. After
awhile you will have had time to learn other services or at the very least have discovered how
to outsource to decent contractors.
While I am writing this I am talking to an app developer in the USA. They are relatively cheap,
but of a high standard in the app building business for business owners. I was initially
approached to refer app business to the clients I have built websites for.
My commission will start at $300 per sale I generate for them.
Now I did a bit of research and it would work out best for me to build a brand new affiliate
website. Get organic or even paid traffic to that site and then refer them onwards from there.
I will still be in the “offline marketing” website model – but will really be doing affiliate
marketing.
Do you see how two of my categories can overlap easily?
OK, to finish – this is a very good model for you to learn as a newcomer because it covers the
very subjects you are going to need to learn for yourselves. So armed with these new skills you
can rush out to real belly-to-belly meetings with prospective clients.
By the way, 50% of the successful businesses in this niche will tell you that the best way is to
go and physically meet clients, and the other 50% will tell you that you can cold call or email
for your business.
I will say that I have done all three extensively and find phoning the best.
One thing is for certain there are hundreds of thousands of people doing this type of service so
you will need a USP (unique selling point) to succeed.
Remember that the poor business owners are being bombarded all day by offers.
You must stand out so clearly that you will get all the business.
Do you need a website?
Yes
Do you need any skills at all?
Yes, but they can be learned
Do you need complicated skills?
If you have complicated skills then that will be a benefit to you, as you start to enter territory
that others are too lazy to enter. Like software development or app developing.
Do you need to spend money?
29. Not really, just the normal website development and traffic generation
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Yes and some selling skills if you are going to be negotiating with business owners
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Two ways of looking at this – you restrict your business to what you are capable of doing
yourself.
This would probably limit you to a ceiling of about $10 000 a month (sort of guessing this)
But it is your time vs. your fees here.
The other way would be to build it as a business so that as you get busier – so you employ
more people. Then there is no limit to your earnings.
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
I have read reports where it is said you can earn within days (ask me for those courses)
But truth be told, you will have to learn a few things at the very least and probably build your
website, so bank on at least a month before you start to earn and maybe two months.
Would I need one or many websites?
One per niche, or one big one for all your services
10. Online Services
Description – This is very similar to the previous business model with the main
variation being that the clients are already established online – all you are doing is
their online “stuff” This would naturally cover the simplest basics to the most
complicated coding or software development.
I pay a lot of people to do things for my business that I used to do for myself (and even for
clients)
Once your online business grows past a certain point then you will find that you do not want
to – or cannot find the time to do yourself.
There are millions of website owners that need hundreds of services.
You could do graphics for people, do infographics, and do social media stuff and a hundred
things more.
30. Do you need a website?
Yes - for your reputation, but it is not a necessity. Would you pay a professional who does not
even own a website?
Do you need any skills at all?
Yes, but these types of skills are easy to learn. You could learn how to do (for example)
FaceBook marketing in a few days, and become an expert in two weeks. In three months you
will be a freaking genius.
Do you need complicated skills?
See above
Do you need to spend money?
Just the basics – website etc.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Yes – but a course or two will give you that info, or a hundred YouTube videos LOL
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
See my answer to this question in the one above (number 9)

Would I need one or many websites?
See number 9
11. Outsourcing
Description – You become a buyer/client finding specialist and then you outsource the
work to other skilled people. You are a middle man. You need to be skilled at two things
– getting clients, and managing the outsourcer staff.
A massive amount of online and offline needs can be met by you becoming a middleman and
outsourcing to contractors.
Almost everything that you can find as a service online can be outsourced
31. I build websites for businesses that are not the end users; I do video marketing for the same
type of person. I do SEO the same way. You do not even need to adjust your prices most of the
time.
There are many websites that you can go to if you need to find a specialist in any subject.
Go and look at these three as an example…
http://fiverr.com/
https://www.elance.com/
https://www.freelancer.com

You could even put yourself out there as a freelancer
Do you need a website?
Yes – as you will be offering a service and will need the credibility and naturally a place to offer
your services
Do you need any skills at all?
Negotiating skills and probably some marketing skills (but that could be done for you)
Do you need complicated skills?
Not really
Do you need to spend money?
Only on the basics – website – hosting etc
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Not really just enough to be able to manage the projects
32. How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Surprisingly high as all your time is not used up doing the actual work. If you are good at
finding business you will do very well
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Pretty much as soon as your website is up and running
Would I need one or many websites?
Only if you pursue different niches. For example you could have a website offering PowerPoint
video production, and another in a completely unrelated field like mobile apps.
12. Website Flipping
Description – You build or buy websites that are always going to sell fast because of
their popularity. The trick is to know what sells for what price. Almost identical to the
offline business of property flipping – buy - fix – sell.
The description above almost covers this business method in that short paragraph, but let me
explain one example.
You search for domain names that are expiring and you buy them.
Then you do a little SEO add a few pages, add a form of monetisation and wait for your site to
rank better and start to earn.
You could have picked this site up for as little as $15.
You then go to a place like - https://flippa.com/ – and sell it there for a higher fee.
Go and have a look.
Here are some examples I found…
33. Do you need a website?
No. just the ones you are selling
Do you need any skills at all?
Yes, you need to know what to buy and how to improve it to resell – or how to build them
from scratch so that they are valuable.
Do you need complicated skills?
Medium, like any buy-sell business the more you learn the better you get at it.
Do you need to spend money?
Just buying the domains, and you might need to buy more than 10 (as an example) and then
sit on them while they re align themselves for a few months before you can sell them.
Some are sellable immediately – if you are lucky
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Some understanding, but it is not as hard as becoming an accountant LOL
34. How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Unlimited. The more you buy to sell the better you will earn, plus you could sit on some for
awhile and earn a massive ROI (return on investment)
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
The fastest would be a few weeks
Would I need one or many websites?
Many – to sell
13. Lead Generation
Description – Both online and offline businesses need leads. You build websites (and
social machines) to generate those leads and you sell the leads to businesses that need
inquiries. Useful for “local search” businesses
In my opinion this is one of the best business models to follow online.
The reason I say this is twofold. Firstly you will always find business owners who need leads
and secondly it is often a LOT easier to rank a local search website than a country wide or
international one.
This is a simple method – you build a website through targeting a type of business need and
then sell those inquiries to the businesses that can fulfil that need.
The two most popular ways are to get (for example) swimming pool leads and then sell them
cheaper to 4 competing swimming pool suppliers.
That way the client gets 4 quotations, and you get to sell the lead 4 times.
The second method is to sell the leads exclusively to a single business for a much higher price.
There is a third method and that is you only get paid a commission for sales of those leads. (I
am currently building a site that will pay $300 each time one of my “leads” buys.)
Now this method is also just an affiliate system, but I am going to target it as a local search
network of lead generation sites.
You could do market research to see what that industry is paying for leads and back it up by
calculating the cost they would have to pay per month to maintain the website and calculate
your lead prices that way.
Once you have a website that is on page one getting you leads – then you do another and
another.
35. Like…
BookKeepersJohannesburg.co.za
And then
Bookkeeperslondon.co.uk
And then
Bookkeepersboston.com
Etc
Here is an example of a local search results page
There are easy to follow ways to get your page ranked and earning.
Do you need a website?
Yes – and probably many
Do you need any skills at all?
Just the skills needed to build a quality SEO website – easy training to know
Do you need complicated skills?
36. Maybe a bit of negotiating skills to get the best payments out of your clients, but truthfully,
you do not really, as they – the clients - are the ones that need the leads
Do you need to spend money?
Just to build the website and do SEO. Perhaps to get a local telephone number (explained in
the course)
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Not much, just how to rank a website
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Between $200 and $10000 a website and then as many of those you would like to build. Like I
said at the beginning – a beautiful business system
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
As fast as a week or two at the best, but plan on two months onwards
Would I need one or many websites?
As many as you want
14. Amazon Fulfilment Program
Description - Perhaps the biggest business model that anyone could start and retire
very wealthy in a few years time. You find a wholesale product (rebrand it if you like)
and get Amazon to do the marketing and selling for you. Just like getting an aisle or
shelf space in an old-school supermarket or store. Big difference is that you do not
carry stock and therefore have a LOT less risk.
Hugely popular at the moment
Here is an example.
You research Amazon in a specific way – looking for high selling items that are light and easy
(cheap) to ship.
Then you go find wholesalers that will give you a decent margin.
You should re brand that product to stand out from the masses.
Then you add it to the Amazon fulfilment program.
They market for you; you still need to do a few things to get your product to the top of all the
competing products that are in direct competition.
37. Once it is earning sales – you find another product set it all up again and repeat until you are
earning over $100 000 a month.
Do you need a website?
Not necessary
Do you need any skills at all?
Research skills and the ability to structure and manage a brand
Do you need complicated skills?
I cannot think of any. Perhaps the ability to manage “projects” IE is an organised type of
person
Do you need to spend money?
On the rebranding – yes. But you do not carry stock
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Just in how the system works. Amazon and wholesaling
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
So big it is hard to describe
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
A few weeks after your products are in the Amazon program
Would I need one or many websites?
no
15. Normal Offline Business
Description – Perhaps you really just want to start up a “normal” business. Hairdresser,
book-keeper, landscaper etc and all you need to learn is how to make that website get
the most leads from the internet.
Massive amounts of the people that are 100% newbie’s that contact me are still planning these
old school offline businesses in their heads.
There is nothing wrong with the business type.
38. I believe that a decent residual web based business is 100% better, but sometimes you want to
do business in the field that you are skilled in.
I get that.
My only complaints are the following two.
1. You build up a website that brings you leads. Then you still have to go and actually do
the work that the leads have brought you. (see the lead generating model above here
where you then just sell those leads and then go and sit by the pool)
2. You are limited by the fact that you can only call upon one client at a time – but
employing sales people can overcome this problem
3. OK, I said two – but this model will come with overheads, rentals, staff salaries etc.
This type of business covers every type of brick and mortar business out there. But normally
the clients that come to me for mentoring are looking to start up a smaller work from home
type small business. This would still be a long list – but more like crafting, creative jobs,
service jobs and one man businesses.
Do you need a website?
Yes
Do you need any skills at all?
A lot – the ability to run a real business - IE management skills, budgeting skills etc
Do you need complicated skills?
Depending upon your choice of business
Do you need to spend money?
Yes stock and equipment for the actual business – the website will be minimal costs.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
yes
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
A very wide range depending upon your business choice
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
No idea again depends upon your business choice.
But if you took an example – work-at-home-hairdresser… Probably within days as you would
also be doing real offline marketing – Fliers, word of mouth – adverts etc.
Would I need one or many websites?
39. Just the one
16. Crafting or Product/gift supply
Description – OK, this is the same as above, but I was a crafter for a long time so I see a
difference here. Crafters and artists (as talented as they are) do not see the wood for
the trees so I will explain more here below for them
There are many types of “crafters” From those that really do just do it as a hobby and do not ever
want to sell their creations, to the next level crafter who would like to sell enough to recoup the
costs of the materials used, to finally a crafter who is planning to build a business around those
craft products.
I suggest that the second level crafter go and add themselves to websites like etsy
http://www.etsy.com/
Good luck with having to compete with thousands of crafters just like you
However it is that third level crafter that I have helped/mentored and love opening their eyes
to the massive potential online.
One thing crafters are prone to doing is creating small very detailed (read here – takes a
bloody long time to make) items. This is natural as they are normally working on small type
items and in front of them on a desk.
The training they do and the costs involved naturally cause this to become the norm.
I teach them to scale the products up to create a bigger selling price.
Let me explain
If you did art
Painting number one has small tiny brush strokes and the detail is enormous and is the size of
a foolscap book – how much could you sell that painting for (naturally complete – framed etc)
As opposed to the painting that is 2 meters (6 foot) square and is completed in the same
length of time with big brush strokes – how much could you sell that for?
People perceive the bigger items as much more expensive and are willing to pay more for
those big items that had the same level of work in them, but with a bit more costs in materials.
In fact when I was doing this for myself, I used to make one massive feature item and price it at
three times its value.
40. People would come to see it, go “wow” and then go “wow” again to the price – after that they see
all my other normally priced items as cheap
I do have specific courses for the crafting industry – see my contact details at the end of this
report to find out more.
The secret here is to understand how to do the research into the BUYERS that are out there
looking for your products.
You find they are NOT looking for “scrapbook” products but other keywords like “50th
wedding anniversary gift” and then you market to them.
Do you need a website?
yes
Do you need any skills at all?
Well, the crafting skills and the knowhow on website marketing
Do you need complicated skills?
Not really - See above
Do you need to spend money?
Just on the crafting side and the basics online
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Just your craft business
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
As much as your production can handle
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
As fast as the website ranks for the buyer keywords – from two months onwards
Would I need one or many websites?
Many would be a big help, but remember you are a crafting business first and not a website
building business, so I would suggest get one to work and make you profitable and then
employ a website /SEO expert to build you one at a time after that
17. FaceBook Marketing
41. Description – Using the biggest social media site to make a living is actually very easy –
but requires that you go about it in a special way. There are products that lend
themselves more to this form of marketing and others that do not. This would be where
you are doing this for yourself and not a client.
I have covered this under social media, but FaceBook is so popular I decided to dedicate a
single category to it for you.
The sheer volume of people on FaceBook all the time means that those who apply correct
marketing methods to be exposed to those masses could in fact earn massive amounts of
money doing this.
90% of all the other categories I have listed here will also need to have a BIG FaceBook
presence to get visitors.
So, you could market your skills to businesses as an offline business service company here or
simply do direct marketing to these people.
Paid for traffic, email marketing, FaceBook marketing and YouTube marketing are all solid
business models in their own right, but equally have become indispensable to normal website
owners.
Certain products do not fit well with FaceBook as people do not like to be sold to while they
are there, they want to follow their passions by choice and not have it pushed under their
noses.
So, for example if you were making money from the legal industry you would need to build a
page on FaceBook that has funny, horrific, scary, ridiculous or statistical pictures or stories
that you posted.
That way your page would get fans and likes and then you could occasionally add in a small
punt for your product, or have all the images and videos open on a website when clicked and
there on the website you can offer them products and services.
Other niches like weight loss, pets, dating, music or religion are easy to get people to follow
you and eventually lead to them becoming buyers.
Do you need a website?
Yes and no – depending on your method of marketing
Do you need any skills at all?
Just knowing a few step by step methods that are extremely simple
Do you need complicated skills?
No
42. Do you need to spend money?
No – just the basics – unless you are buying traffic and likes (recommended)
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Not really, a bit of research makes you an expert really quickly
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Pretty good, but it is highly linked to the size of your FaceBook pages and the niche you are
active in.
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
As fast as your page is big – this would depend heavily upon your traffic buying power
Would I need one or many websites?
One per niche is preferable, but many FaceBook marketers claim they do not need one.
18. Email Marketing
Description – “the money is in the list” is so bandied about online that I gag when I see
it, but it is true. Marketing to a list of people who have opted into your email auto
responder – and are actually happy to get emails from you – is perhaps the most
consistent earner for people online for the last 8 years. You build your own email list
and then email offers to that list – they buy from your affiliate links and you make a lot
of money.
It is said repeatedly online that a person on your email list is worth $1 to you per month.
This means that if you built a decent email list of quality people and then treated them with
respect and retained them – a list of 10 000 people would be worth $10 000 a month.
There are numerous courses that show you how to get an email list of 1000 plus per month
and if you stick to time tested methods you will have an asset that cannot be taken away from
you as long as you market ethically.
Normally people are enticed to join your email list with a quality free item (I probably did it to
you to be here reading this right now) and then they keep on giving you high quality content -
I like to just email my lists to tell them I have a new post on my websites/blog than needs
looking into.
Then when you do have a decent product or service to offer them they will trust your advice
and you will get sales from those that are looking for that solution to whatever the product
fixes.
43. Doing email marketing for businesses
Then there are a lot of people who contract businesses to manage their email marketing as I
can attest to the fact that it is hard to do from a single point of view.
You have to do it almost every day and 99% of business owners do not have the time to do this
on a daily basis. (My first three years online I paid for a monthly service at Aweber $25 a
month or something like that – with a list of only 90 people that I emailed them once every six
months or so – do you see?)
Do you need a website?
yes
Do you need any skills at all?
Some communication skills would help
Do you need complicated skills?
no
Do you need to spend money?
On the Auto responder company – this very often is per thousand people on your lists.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Perhaps on what you promote
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
massive
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
As fast as you have a list – and they trust your information
Would I need one or many websites?
One per niche
19. Mobile Marketing
44. Description – This is the same as the previous model but you promote products to
people via mobile phones and tablets. The marketing is different and this side of
technology is growing at a very fast rate. Apps are a part of this model too.
Mobile marketing as I have titled it here would cover using everything related to the mobile
side on the internet. It is important that you understand that the way people interact with
their internet options are different on a mobile device and tablets and this needs a different
mindset and marketing approach to how you do this online.
I encourage you to allow in your business planning that this market segment is not only
growing at an unbelievable rate it is also so new (smart phones are not really that old) that
new ways to put information in front of potential buyers is evolving every day.
This could cover the designing and installing of mobile websites for clients
It could be mobile sms marketing for you or for clients
it covers mobile apps, which are very popular and a very fast growing industry.
QR codes and the marketing opportunities are also a popular method of marketing for
businesses and an opportunity for marketers to offer as a service to businesses.
I have read a lot of courses on the mobile side of online marketing but other than installing a
few dozen websites for mobile I am not that experienced in this niche.
Do you need a website?
Yes – to showcase your products or service
Do you need any skills at all?
Just the knowledge of how you market/sell
Do you need complicated skills?
See above
Do you need to spend money?
Only the basics or to pay for visitor traffic
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Some, but not college degree level
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Not too sure - sorry (due to my inexperience in this niche)
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Also an unknown item - sorry
45. Would I need one or many websites?
Probably just the one
20. New Ideas
Description – This falls into the out-there-category. But essentially it would be where
you think up a totally unique model like Coupons, Pinterest, FaceBook, Groupon or a
new form of chat room…
If you think you have a brilliant new idea that could make you a trillionaire online I would
caution you against this route unless you have another form of income that will allow you to
gamble with this sort of business model.
I do not have the success vs. failure statistics but I do know that out of the thousands of sites
that do set out to be the first or a clever twist type of copycat style site, many fail and only a
few will end up profitable over time.
This type of idea should go the crowd funding or start-up capital route.
I lie awake at night or while driving my car – and come up with some very clever ideas that
might work if everything went my way, and the truth is that as fast as I think them up, so I tell
myself to calm down and do real normal marketing methods to earn my living.
I have a friend who has been telling me that he has this idea that is so original, so brilliant, so
fantastic that he is sure it will become an instant success. BUT he has not ever actually told me
what it is LOL. Too worried I will blab and someone will steal the idea. But the point of this
little interruption is that it is 5 years down the line and he has still not done a thing about it.
If you seriously think you do have an idea you are welcome to discuss it with me with me
playing devil’s advocate, and I promise not to “blab” – I am truthfully too busy to even try to
finish my own websites to bother trying some out-there idea.
Do you need a website?
yes
Do you need any skills at all?
Probably not, just the capital to pay people to custom design your website for you
Do you need complicated skills?
Not likely
Do you need to spend money?
46. Definitely – this sort of idea will probably need massive amounts of marketing cash to ensure
that the public are exposed to your version first, before a copy cat with deep pockets takes you
out.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Depend upon your idea
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Big losses and huge profits.
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
How long is a piece of string?
Would I need one or many websites?
Probably just the one
21. Forums
Description – Forums are sort of like the membership sites mentioned earlier but are so
big that they deserve their own category. You create a platform (forum) for people with
like minded interests to come to interact with each other on a regular basis. They are
free members but you advertise occasionally to them. You then add a paid for “exclusive
members” area.
I found over 10 forums within 5 minutes of searching with over 10 million members each.
I then looked for specific types of forums for you to go and see as good examples of forums…
http://www.somethingawful.com/ 3378 logged on when I checked
http://forums.offtopic.com/ 78 000 members
http://www.nexopia.com/forums.php 2 million users
So what is a forum?
It is a type of website where it is almost solely dedicated to discussions between people on a
common interest subject or theme.
I – for example - belong to business forums, a ford escort forum, marketing forums and a few
art forums. I also belong to a few forums where I am a member just to “market” a product and
get clicks back to my website because I provide valuable information.
47. You would make your money only once your forum is busy on a daily basis, and then not from
a membership fee (although a lot of forums have a sort of inner circle where you do pay to
belong) but from advertising fees.
There are many different ways that the advertising could make you money. Google adsence,
banner adverts, a for sale section – that sort of thing.
The trick with a forum is to get a LOT of traffic in the beginning, and I mean a lot, so that it
starts off very busy and stays that way forever.
If there is a slump in activity your forum will likely die and will never recover.
Do you want to know if this is for you?
Join 10 forums and go and interact daily for awhile. See how busy they are, see how many
members there are, see how many moderators there are, and see if you could do that all day …
You could earn a living just from marketing via forums, if you like interacting all day.
You could earn a living from setting up forums for clients
You normally would add a forum to your other (busy) website business once you are
getting a ton of traffic all the time
Do you need a website?
yes
Do you need any skills at all?
No, just a love of sharing your chosen topic, and maybe a love of “chatting” all day
Do you need complicated skills?
no
Do you need to spend money?
Yes – to drive those hoards of visitors for the first few weeks or months
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
I guess
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
The bigger your membership the more potential you will have.
I know of one that is making a lot of money from the classified section within the forum
I would guess at $100 000 a month.
48. How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Only once your forum is busy all the time
Would I need one or many websites?
one
22. Social Media
Description – There are many social media website types and copying them could work
sometimes (see MySpace vs FaceBook) or you could think up a brand new social idea as
an online platform. All the ideas are definitely not used up by miles yet.
You could build a social media platform or promote via social media
Social media sites are correctly described – social, and therefore it is obvious that like forums
above, your site will live or die by the amounts of activity it receives.
So, if you are planning your own social media website please go re read the sections above on
forums and especially on number 20 for new ideas.
Marketing via social media is a different animal and a very good way to make money online.
Now while most people use social media as one of their traffic driving tools online – there are
many ways where you could choose just one of the big social media sites and make money
from being a big player on that site.
Twitter and Pinterest (and naturally FaceBook) are the ones that come to mind, but others
that are almost as powerful are ones like LinkedIn, Google Plus or Tumblr.
What you need to understand is that ALL these sites will tolerate a marketer, but those that
are using finesse will be the big winners and not get blasted by people for being too pushy.
Personally I believe that it is more profitable as a service you offer to offline businesses rather
than trying to get 10 000 000 followers on Twitter. Kim Kardashian might be able to command
$10 000 a tweet but could you do the same?
But having put my opinion out there – I agree that there are MANY people making a lot of
money doing referrals etc (CPA especially) from their social media marketing efforts.
Do you need a website?
Not really
49. Do you need any skills at all?
Just social savvy skills
Do you need complicated skills?
no
Do you need to spend money?
no
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
no
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Not too sure to be honest – I have only ever seen the “sales letters” as proof. But I suspect that
it has potential and is real
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Almost immediately if you do it right, but you normally have to wait for your fans or followers
to be a lot before the numbers game kicks in.
Would I need one or many websites?
none
23. Directories
Description – Owning a popular directory (like the Yellow Pages) online could be very
profitable. The types of directories are still evolving.
Using directories in the daily marketing of websites is popular and if you built a
directory that gave people what they needed you could become very big online.
Or just give clients a directory listing/marketing service.
This method can be a very nice residual income model as you would need to do a lot in the
beginning and probably spend a bit of money, but once it is running you can leave a few staff
members running it and go off and travel the world.
There are many options and you could do very well by inventing a new type.
50. People will always need some form of gathering place or listing reference for them to be found
for whatever those thing are.
So, there are business listings, often pared down to smaller niches. Like dentists in a city, or
Hotels in a province, or even right down to local leads levels, like mobile dog parlours in
Sandton.
I have a report written that shows you how to get direct business leads and back links from
entering your business on all the directories you can find.
It works!
Now because of my experience on this subject I can tell you that a Directory that allows
everybody to add a ton of details about their business and not just 5 images and 3 videos (just
an example) could in fact do very well.
You see, a directory is just a big authority website really and therefore it will be judged by
Google’s spiders by the same rules as all the other websites and I can tell you that almost ALL
the big directories are running on a system that worked 5 years ago and they are not up to
date with the newest algorithm changes online.
This gives a savvy marketer a big opportunity to replace some of the biggest directory names
out there.
The good news
Well the last paragraph is actually the best news, but also the fact that once you are big you
will get a very nice income from premium listings and advertisers and promotions.
The bad news?
Well I should tell you that to get the directory to the point where thousands of people are
listing their businesses, services or whatever a month will take some clever marketing and
probably a fair bit of cash
Do you need a website?
Duh!
Do you need any skills at all?
Well sometimes you will need the website to be custom built, but on running the directory…
Not really just the ability to organise and market
Do you need complicated skills?
nope
51. Do you need to spend money?
Yes if you want to succeed. You could be lucky and get there via social media, but I would not
gamble on that
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Not really
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
A lot
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Months before you see a return
Would I need one or many websites?
Just the one, unless you go so big that you can split the niches per site
24. Classified sites
Description – See above – but a simple classified website that supplies a need online
(like cars for sale) has a lot of potential – you could build a targeted classified site.
You could also do classified marketing services for clients
This is so close to the directory version above but with a small twist. The directory option is
business driven and not likely to be driven by individuals (unless you have thought up a clever
personal directory like linkedin- tip – hint hint – hint hint )
So all your issues like it will need a lot of capital injection to be seen and gain popularity, the
big difference is that a classified site could get a lot bigger via social media and marketing
tricks like competitions etc.
Really all about branding, and I suggest that you niche down to branding one just for cameras,
and another just for health equipment, and another just for sex LOL – or whatever.
Here is one example.
As far as I know there is not a classified site where you can go and sell your training report for
free, like an eBook, or a set of videos. Most of those items are banned because we marketers
have spammed the classifieds to death with those reports, but there really is a market for
them, so if you built it – with standards, no repeats etc….
Who knows?
52. Do you need a website?
yes
Do you need any skills at all?
Not really
Do you need complicated skills?
Nope - none
Do you need to spend money?
Yes getting the word out there as to what it is and how it works. This could be a lot of money
unless you have such a cool one that people willingly refer it all day.
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
no
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
massive
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
Too many factors to consider. No guessing – each version would be different
Would I need one or many websites?
one
25. Video Marketing
Description – Two different meaning here. You use videos on sites like YouTube to get
views to promote products, or you make videos for clients to earn from those fees.
You could also build a video social site. To get traffic/visitors or to get businesses to
add their videos because they will be unique in a certain way that people need.
For your own websites/Products
There is a very high chance you are reading this report because you watched a video of mine
first.
I love making videos, believe it or not – because it is the lazy way to tell a story.
53. As soon as I have finished writing this report I am off to make a new video that I am expecting
to get 3000 views plus per month for the entire year of 2014
There are many ways to get the attention of the YouTube ranking spiders from videos, and
while it is very often as much work to rank a video as it is to rank an entire website, the video
can still bring you more business.
So, using video as a marketing tool is a very good way to make money but is slightly dangerous
as you need to be very careful that you do not break any rules. You can get your account
banned very easily by using unsavoury marketing methods.
As A Viral Marketing Tool
There are a lot of ways to earn money by starting up a video channel that you use to get
followers or fans and this leads to thousands of views and eventually a lot of power to market
to those people.
You can do this through a video blog style, and use a multiple of styles (comedy, review,
political, serious research etc) to keep people interested.
Become big enough and you will be a celebrity in your own right
Marketing or as a service for clients
Businesses do not always have the time to make videos for themselves and so if you become
proficient at doing these short information videos you could sell them and/or do the
marketing for those clients too.
Go and see this site – http://animoto.com/ - it gives you a great free option or you could
upgrade and then make videos for clients with their system. I was a paid member for a few
years
There are many other sites that are similar to Animoto.
Do you need a website?
Optional
Do you need any skills at all?
Not very many for the basic stuff, just how to use the software that makes videos – like
Camstudio or Camtasia
Do you need complicated skills?
Only if you want to become more professional and do blue screen type stuff
Do you need to spend money?
To buy the software only, maybe some camera equipment and lighting if you want to go pro
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
54. Not that much
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Depending upon how you do your video business, but video can be very profitable
How fast would I likely start to earn money?
If you do affiliate marketing via video, you could get sales very quickly – If you are making
videos, you could find clients fast – if you have client finding skills, if not you will need to
build a website that will rank and bring leads that way.
Would I need one or many websites?
one
26. PLR Products
Description – PLR means Private Label Rights. You buy the rights of an existing
(complete) product and are then able to add your name to it and sell it as your own
work.
PLR products are when someone gives you the rights to sell their complete product as your
own. This could be just a single report or a report with a website, emails, a squeeze page, a
thank you page etc.
A large amount of the PLR products available come with all the necessary marketing bits
attached.
I have found that some are very “light” and normally I edit it in a large way, but having said
that I offer a lot of PLR products for sale and as bonuses.
For example, I do a lot of website building or mentoring for people and when they sign up I
add those types of bonus products.
Now the core of what they have ordered from me is the mentoring or the website or perhaps
one of my big products, and the bonuses are add-ons that will be a big help to what they are
doing.
So, for example – if they got a Wordpress website I add a series of how-to-use-wordpress
videos as the bonus.
Now it is very important that a newbie has this sort of resource to refer to as often as they
need to in the beginning as they are not experienced in the dashboard of wordpress.
(It’s like I teach them to use a car for their business – and add some how to drive videos)
55. So, PLR is great for people that need some instant products and as I said earlier might need a
bit of substance added but the concept is great.
NEVER just trust that what is written inside the PLR product you bought is correct.
If you are an expert on a subject you could create short PLR products and sell them on places
like JVZoo or the Warrior Forum and earn a full time living doing that.
You take 2 weeks to produce a new product and then sell them for a low price (to get many sales)
of $10. But you could sell a few thousand. $5000 every two weeks would be fine right?
PS - There are many PLR membership sites you can belong to where you pay a small monthly
fee to have access to a lot of new PLR every month – Here is my affiliate link for the one I
belong to – go and see what they have to offer - http://small-business-opportunities.
co.za/resellrightsweekly
You will see there are certain niches like going green or health and online marketing that has a
massive amount of PLR available and you could choose one of those and have as many as 10
products listed on your website in a few days. Some for sale, some as a free offer for the email
opt in, some as bonuses. Massive potential this method.
Do you need a website?
Yes, either to sell the PLR you are promoting as your product, or to sell the PLR packages.
Do you need any skills at all?
Yes to upload sites, to modify the products etc, but this is all fairly simple – when you know
how
Do you need complicated skills?
If you are producing PLR you need more skills or you could pay people on places like
fiverr.com to do the heavy lifting for you
Do you need to spend money?
Not much, small monthly membership fees, small design fees etc
Do you need to have detailed knowledge of that subject?
Not really, you can become enough of an expert in almost any subject with a few hours of
research – enough to repair any PLR product and ready it for publication.
How much income potential does this niche/method have?
Lots, because you can build small affiliate mini sites easily with PLR products on them, and
each has the potential to earn you an income.
56. How fast would I likely start to earn money?
As fast as the websites rank
Normally a few weeks
Would I need one or many websites?
One or many – your choice
Summary
I have subjected you to a lot of details so far with a ton of bad grammar and now need to see
that you get pointed in the right direction for what you have learned.
The big problem with a descriptive overview of how to make money like this is that it never
gives you enough details to actually go and do it, and I realise that.
Remember that while I repeatedly say that setting up websites, or marketing on FaceBook etc
is so easy, I also get that you still need to learn how to do all this.
MOST IMPORTANT THING
The main reason I wrote out all this information…
I might have said this in the beginning, and need to repeat it here, and make
sure that you realise that this next point is so important.
I really hope that you have chosen the correct money making method through the knowledge
I have given you in this report, because the BIGGEST reason for failure online is not
completing your money-making-plan.
What happens is that a lot of people – even those that know you actually will need to work
hard at this money making thing – seem to start off all excited and very quickly get to the
boring part of actually doing the daily tasks, and then give up after a few weeks.
Now if you read every word of this report you will see that for most of the answers I gave for
the question “how fast will I start to earn money” I said two months.
Now two months would only be if you got everything 100% correct, if not it could be three
months, and if you choose a less urgent product to sell (like charcoal drawing for Kids) you
might not make any money for 6 months.
ARE YOU ABLE TO STICK TO IT THAT LONG?
People expect an offline widget factory to take two years to start to make money, and then
expect an online business to earn you money in a week – seriously – they really do.
So, the point of this report is to help you start off in the right direction from day one.
57. OK, well day two because I have written so much here hahaha
What to do next
Now you can either contact me with all this newly learned information and ask me all the
detailed questions you like.
I understand that this will just have confused you and you will need to know more, so I am
happy to help.
If you are just going to email me, please do not ask me to “tell me more”
Write out a lot of detailed questions for me to answer, remember the point of this report was
to educate you to the point where you already know a lot and are now looking for fine tuning.
In fact if you ask me something that I know is in this report (it would mean you never read
everything) I will just mail you back and tell you to read the report again.
Here is my email address (one of them – I have about 30 )
rob@robertbruceanderson.com
OR
If you feel that you have learned enough and just need to know what steps to take next – keep
reading.
I am going to list a few affiliate links here below (and some not affiliate links) so that you can
go to see what those resources have to offer you.
Now what you are going to need to do is this.
Write down a list of topics/subjects/niches that you feel you would like your business or
website to cover as a core niche item
Then do research to see if there is a market for your choices.
This research would differ from online business type to type
But basically you will do keyword research first.
This keyword research will tell you the level of interest in those subjects and help you to
whittle down the list you made.
Be careful as you will also need to do research into the competition of the idea.
If it is very competitive then you might want to try an easier option.
