Hope your enjoying my newsletter so far! ~Sydney Matt! My brother comes next. My brother and I do look somewhat alike. We have different interests, but that is common in brothers and sisters. We have both played on a basketball team before and he was even one of my coaches when I was smaller. We have been through good and bad times together and fought with each other, but we do love each other either way. My brother is pretty tall. He goes to Kennesaw State University in Georgia. He is going to graduate in December of this year and he is getting married. He is majoring in foreign affairs which is seems pretty confusing to me. This will give him a chance to many great opportunities though. He will be joining the Air Force soon so he can go to law school. He hopes to become a lawyer and I know he will be great at it. Me, Matt, and Dad on Father’s DayI am going to tell you a little about my family members and what they do. I will start with my dad. My dad’s name is Steven (Steve). My dad and I look a lot alike. The only difference rally is that his eyes are blue whereas mine are green/hazel. That is pretty much our only physical difference. My dad and I both like to play the guitar. My dad works as the director of maintenance on the airplanes for Joe Gibbs Racing. Coming with that job is the responsibility of making sure the important people like Joe Gibbs himself and his NASCAR drivers get to their destinations. It is a big job but it comes with many perks. My mom really likes history. She has a college degree in history and hopes to become a high school history teacher. My mom and I don’t really have any physical similarities but we do think and act alike. I got some of my athletic skills from her because she played softball and basketball growing up like I do now. I love her and I am glad she is my mom. Racing mom!!!!!The Sydney Gazette “Mom what’s for dinner?”“You should try Texas Pete on your eggs…its good!” -Sydney ColeMy Family Continued:Members of My FamilyIssue 1September, 2010My FamilyI do have a rat and I know what you’re thinking: “Ewe rat!” Well they are definitely nicer than gerbils and hamsters by the way to all gerbil and hamster lovers that get bitten a lot…uh huh. I got Cheddar two Christmas’s ago. Christmas 2010 will be my third year with her… Cheddar is a girl. Cheddar is one goofy rat though. She likes to jump on the side of the cage and cling to it so she can stare at you. It’s really funny. She also watches TV. If you have it on, she’ll just stare at it through her cage. She is really smart too. She has gray fur even though she is called a “blue rat”… I don’t know where they got blue from. She is really nice and I am glad I have her now that she doesn’t bite me anymore .(I don’t have a picture of her though… Buddy!Me with Kenzie and MooseI am going to tell you about the pets I have because I do consider them family. If you live near it and feed it, its family. I have three dogs and one rat… yes I typed rat. My dogs are really weird. They are definitely not normal but they are good anyway and that’s all that matters. My dog Buddy is an Akita and Australian Shepherd mix. This is where the weird kicks in. Buddy has one blue eye and one brown eye. He also has webbed feet… WEBBED FEET! He is a good dog though no matter his quirks. My other dog is a Doberman named Kenzie. She is the biggest chicken ever even though she is big and a DOBERMAN for crying out loud! She is a good dog though and I do not know what it would be like without her… less entertaining probably. My last dogs name is Moose. She (and yes it’s a she) is a beagle-basset hound mix. She is small, but her bark really isn’t. In fact, it’s REALLY annoying! At least she is our personal siren so we know when someone pulls up to our house. She is sweet though. I would definitely miss her… but not that annoying bark. “I love my strange and annoying animals.”My rat.Yes read it … RAT!My animals continued:Yes animals are family. No I don’t eat them.My AnimalsTop left: AlexTop right: Matt, Grannie (dad’s mom), and AlexBottom: Papaw (Mom’s dad) regular cousins. My other grandparents are on my mom’s side in Tennessee. I call them “Nana and Papaw”. They just moved to Tennessee. My papaw is a retired army officer. He and my nana are originally from Tennessee they moved back up there from Georgia. I see them sometimes but not all the time like I want to see them and my family in Alabama. Whenever I do see them though, we have fun and my nana and I go shopping and my papaw takes me to a movie. We have lots of fun. On my dad’s side, my Grannie and Pop live in Alabama along with my dad’s brothers, sister, and my cousins. My Uncle John and Aunt Ashley have Kayla and Alex who are my two younger cousins. They are little red-heads and the only red-heads in my family for that matter (we are all blonde). Then My Uncle Mike and Aunt Carrie have Casi and Sofie who are my youngest cousins. Casi is the wild one since Sofie is still only a baby. My Aunt Cindy and Uncle Charlie just have my cousin Blake, the oldest one of my cousins. I don’t see him much but when I do, he is fun to be around. Then there is my dad’s Aunt Dot (who I just consider my aunt and not my great aunt), Uncle Mike (another Mike), and their son Graeme who is really my second cousin but we just think of each other as just Issue 1September, 2010“This is the end…DON’T CRY!” >Sydney The editor at work!
