Railroad Company started in

6. The Transcontinental
Railroad
The Transcontinental Railroad became a reality
because of the Pacific Railway Act. In 1862,
Congress passed the act which allowed the
government to loan both of the railroad companies
money to build the railroad.

7. Interesting Fact
Before the Transcontinental Railroad, nobody
needed to know another state’s time. Now that
there was a Transcontinental Railroad, it was
necessary to know what time the trains left and
arrived. A system of twenty-four time zones was
set up around the globe.
