The environment
The environment is all the living things in an
area , the nature. Everything that affects it.
When we talk about the environment, we
normally mean everything that affects people:
the atmosphere, oceans and rivers, the climate
and all living things on Earth.

People change the environment
The people change the environment, they cut down the
trees, they burn fuel and plough the land.
Human activity has a negative effect on the environment
and the worlds ecosystems.

Environmental problems
Here there are some caused by the people:
Pollution- release of harmful substances into the environment. They are
a lot of types of pollution water, air, land, light and noise.
Global warming- The Earth releases heat into space. The burning of
fossil fuels has increased in the amount of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere. We call this process global warming.
Deforestation- is the loss of forests.
Loss of biodiversity- is all the species of living things in an ecosystem.
Global warming and deforestation are causing the extinction of many
species.
