Concern for Road and Pedestrian Safety is a citizen's initiative aiming to help reduce traffic accidents, and hence number of road deaths, in India. This initiative will address three main areas: Empathy on the road - an education and awareness campaign bringing sensitivity towards the road users Pavement infrastructure - a public-private partnership program facilitating building, maintenance and repair of safe pavements in the city Life-saving first-aid - a safety net of first-aid capacity across the private and public medical clinics across the city For more details, pls contact Sunish Jauhari at sunishjauhari@gmail.com.

• ‘Empathy on the Road‘ learning modules for school going children
• Identifying young leaders in pre-university level to launch Empathy on the Road campaign
• Understanding behavior and developing interventions for auto-rickshaw, cab and bus drivers,
with the help of a social / behavioral scientist
• ‘Responsible Driving’ campaign through popular blogs and the social media
• Develop add-on module on ‘responsible driving’ and push through vehicle manufacturers

construction and maintenance in the most critical locations
• Developing tool for quick and practicable design of pavements and safe walking spaces

conducting design competition
