Professional Bio
As one of the pioneers in the independent programming industry, Steve Greenblatt has learned a lot
about the importance of hard work, dedication, respect, quality, and reputation. It is these virtues that
have contributed to his professional development and that are the foundation of the establishment of his
company Control Concepts.

Steve Greenblatt began his career with Crestron Electronics in 1993 as a Systems Engineer. Over the 3
½ years that he spent at Crestron, Steve developed both technically and professionally. While working
on two of the largest Crestron projects at the time, Steve learned the value of organization, time
management, communication, and professionalism, all qualities which have proven to be essential
building blocks of his career. Additionally, the relationships that were formed and the knowledge gained,
throughout Steve’s tenure at Crestron, have provided him with lasting benefit throughout the years.

In 1997, Steve used this entrepreneurial inclination to form an independent programming company at a
time when independent programmers were not mainstream. Although he faced a number of challenges
in getting established, the detailed approach, personal attention, and reliable service that Steve holds in
such high regard propelled Control Concepts toward steady growth and the establishment of a loyal
following.

Over the years, Steve has dedicated time toward giving back to the audiovisual community by supporting
the Dashboard for Controls initiative, developing and instructing seminars for the InfoComm trade show,
and becoming an active member in the Independent Programmers Council.

As past-Chairman of the Independent Programmers Council and past-member of InfoComm's Board of
Governors council chair, Steve worked closely with steering committee members to embark on an
initiative to define best practices for independent programmers' business operations. Involvement in
InfoComm and connecting with the audiovisual community continue to be areas of focus about which
Steve is very passionate.

Steve is currently a member of the InfoComm Energy Management Standard Committee seeking to
define guidelines and requirements for managing and measuring energy usage for audiovisual systems.
Green AV is an area of interest for Steve and Control Concepts, which has produced an e-book and
checklist for utilizing control system solutions for energy management.

It is Steve’s vision, leadership, and demeanor that have been the key elements in his professional growth
and have been a driving factor behind his success. The reputation that Steve has built and the
relationships that he has developed are the accolades in which he takes most pride.

Steve is a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
