been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting The music in this cutscene is relaxing and soothing, it gives the feeling of being in a
safe place.
First part of the music is produced by a real live
piano and the second part of the music has a
mixture of computerised and orchestrated
instruments such as violin. The piano makes the
music have the safe place feeling.
Mood The first part of the music is relaxing, soothing and has a feeling of security and
being safe. The second part of the music is still slightly relaxing but has more
emotion tied in with it, especially with what is being shown in the cutscene. It
changes to sound more dramatic and changes tone, this suggests a change in what
is happening and it’s important to the story.
The piano is relaxing and the violin shows more
emotion in the music. When the music changes it
makes the scene more powerful and emotional.
Game genre The music suggests the game genre to be fantasy/adventure because the style of
music sounds medieval.
The violin suggests medieval times.
Narrative The music suggests a warm and friendly interaction between two characters but at
the same time something sad such as a sacrifice from one of the characters.
The violin suggests an emotional and important
moment in the cutscene.
