FOPL Board. Below is how it stands now.

FOPL staff compensationisguidedbya three-stepsalaryprogressionscale withconditionsforinclusion
of an annual inflationaryimpact.
Salary ProgressionScale
As staff become proficientintheirposition,they willadvance throughathree-stepsalaryprogression
scale. Newstaff orstaff newin positionswill begintheiremployatthe Startlevel onthe salary
progressionscale. Onthe anniversaryof date of hire,staff withnosignificantperformanceconcerns,

2. will advance tothe nextsteponthe salaryprogressionscale. Aftertwoyearsof employitisprojected
that staff are competentlyfulfillingall dutiesandresponsibilitiesof the positionthushave achievedJob
Rate onthe salaryprogressionscale.
Annual InflationaryImpact
To ensure salariesremaincompetitiveandstaff are fairlycompensated,eachyearaninflationaryfactor
isappliedtothe salaryprogressionscale. Thisfactorisappliedatthe beginningof FOPL’sfiscal year,

and isdetermined usingthe same economicincreasesasTorontoPublicLibrarywithin
whichFOPLOfficesreside. Forthe periodof 2016- 2019 thisinflationaryfactoris1.25%.
