2. Our mission at The Startup Leadership
Program (SLP) is to bring together the
brightest entrepreneurs and innovators
- mentoring and guiding them in their
ongoing journey. We also aim at
providing our fellows with a support
system for life.
We organized events in our India
chapters (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai,
Bangalore & Hyderabad) on the 12 July,
2014. These events were supported by
NASSCOM whose recent initiative,
10,000 STARTUPS, shares SLP's vision
and commitment to help nurture the
entrepreneurial ecosystem in India.

5. Key Themes that emerged from the events:

At the events, ex SLP fellows shared their entrepreneurial stories with
people and how they gained a head start vis-a-vis networking by applying to
SLP.
Bangalore and Chennai discussed the importance of adopting the lean
startup philosophy as a way to lower the risks entrepreneur would have to
typically take and this allowed for an excited discussion among the
attendees.
The Delhi chapter invited speakers who spoke about the vast potential of
growth hacking as a viable alternative to traditional marketing activities.
The ‘workshop’ in Hyderabad on BMC generated a lot of interest.
In summary, each event initiated an interesting conversation around startups
and entrepreneurship that led to a buzz about SLP and its admission
process.

8. Rammohan Reddy, founder of Lean Startup Circle, gave
an introductory session on ‘Lean Startup Methodology’. He
covered theoretical aspects on Lean Startups. The
workshop also included case examples and an exercise
on the application of Lean Startup Methodology. He
concluded with an interactive session on certain business
ideas among the attendees.
Trilok Hebbur, CEO at Thinkappz Inc. and SLP Fellow
from the 2013-14 batch, shared his experience of the
program and provided some insights to the attendees
about what they can expect if they join SLP.

10. Shashank Rajurkar, co-founder at Zaphyr Turnaround
Advisors, carried out a one hour session on how start-
ups can run lean and what the different areas a startup
founder needs to focus on when their startup is in an
ideation stage.
Sadhana Somasekhar, of Future Focus Infotech, shared
her experience on running a 100 crore technology
company. She shared her success story of creating a new
team within the parent company that followed a lean
startup model. With a team of 6 members, without
contacting any of the existing client base, the startup
went on to make profits in crores within 6 months of
operation.

12. Aloke Bajpai, founder of Ixigo and past SLP Fellow,
gave some interesting insights and shared personal tips
on how to really growth hack your product/idea with
limited resources.
Chandan Gupta, of Phone Warriors, shared his experience
of getting millions of downloads for his app in a little over a
year. This is a dream for most Indian products - the
audience was quite keen to understand the secret of
getting a million downloads for an app.

13. Satyajeet Singh, a senior member of the product team
of Zomato, presented the Zomato style to growth hack.
Zomato is doing extremely well in a variety of things
from number app downloads to user acquisition while
also getting into a number of international markets
within three years of their launch.
Sunil Goyal, founder of Yournest Ventures, gave the in-
vestor perspective on growth hack and also shared the
insights on how some of his investee companies growth
hack their way to awesomeness. He has invested in
some big names like ZipDial, Babyoye, Mobiquest in his
previous avatars.

14. Aman Raj, representing NASSCOM, 10,000 startups
initative- our partner for the event series, shared
details about applying to the program and answered
queries related to the application process.

16. Pavan Atukuri, founder and CEO of Open Face Media
and the Program Leader for this year in Hyderabad,
explained the concept of BMC and showcased Dropbox
BMC as an example. Participants were given 30 minutes
to brainstorm ideas and complete the BMC exercise.
This resulted in a euphoric atmosphere with multiple
questions, confusions, conclusions and actions.
Niranjan Seelam, Strategy and Operations at Zippr and
a past SLP fellow, shared his experiences at SLP with
the attendees. He described how the opportunity to
speak to the cofounder of Runkeeper allowed him clari-
ty of thought during the initial phase of his sports start-
up. Niranjan stated that in the last three years, the SLP
network has helped him in many ways in both his per-
sonal and professional journey.

18. Anil Amesur, a 2012-13 SLP Fellow, and founder of Go
Delight, shared his experiences about taking the leap and
then getting acqui-hired via an SLP connection.
Suraj Goyal, founder of Printbindaas.com, shared his
journey as an entrepreneur describing how he managed
to raise funds while at SLP. He detailed his learnings at
SLP and explained how the curriculum and the mentors
helped him on this journey.
