Global peace
and
international relation
Global peace
peace on Earth, is the concept of an ideal state of happiness,
freedom and peace within and among all people and nations on
earth. This idea of world non-violence is one motivation for people
and nations to willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue
of a system of governance that objects warfare. Different cultures,
religions, philosophies and organisations have varying concepts
on how such a state would come about.
Various religious and secular organisations have the stated aim of
achieving world peace through addressing human rights,
technology, education, engineering, medicine or diplomacy used
as an end to all forms of fighting. Since 1945, the United Nations
and the 5 permanent members of its Security Council (the US,
Russia, China, France and the UK) have operated under the aim to
resolve conflicts without war or declarations of war. Nonetheless,
nations have entered numerous military conflicts since then.
International relation
 International relations, study of the
relations among states and other
political and economic units in the
international system. Body of rules
considered legally binding in the
relations between national states, also
known as the law of nations
REASONS OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
 Realignment of economic power
caused by the formation of
multinational trading blocs, such as
NAFTA
 Unification of countries pursuing
common goals, such as AIDS.
NEED OF PUBIC RELATIONS GLOBALLY
 We need public relations to deal with
challenges that multinational
organizations face. Organizations
need to communicate actively, show
responsibility, operate legally and
ethically.
 Social, economic, and political
changes increase the need for
organizations to communicate and
support efforts in international
settings.
INTERNATIONAL RELATION benefits
 Growth and development of organizations
and commercial interests
 Learning about local culture, customs and
language, politics and laws
 Opening new lines of communication,
furthering understanding, building and
enhancing relationships
How international relations helps
in global peace.. ?
 TO AVOID WORLD WARS- The 20th century
witnessed two world war which was very
danger in their destruction of man and
material. It is feared that a third word war
would wipe out the human race on earth if it
comes. The of IRS helps us to analyze and
the aims of the states in the worlds affairs the
method adopted for the attainment of this
objects and the factor which ultimately leads
to their success or failure. The international
relations helps us to analyze helps the all
states to live boldly and confidently in the
world of diversity and peacefully
TO UNDERSTAND DEFECTS OF
INTENSE NATIONALISM-
 Intense of nationalism was one of the
major cause of 1st worlds war.
 Because each state thinks of the entire
problems in its own national interest and
forgot the wider international interest.
 IR teaches that the nations must learn the
basic factors of mutual trust in order to
stop any possible conflicts.
Educative values-
 Today the modern weapons of warfare
have became very sophisticated and too
much danger in mater of few hours they
can wipe out millions of population by their
nuclear bomb, germ warfare.
 The warning about the threat to the world
peace and need to have precautionary
measure. To educate the people in the
interest of very survival of human race.
BETTER WORLD ORDER-
 study of IR aims at better understanding
of problems of the world.
 Any state which violate international peace
should be silenced by the collective action
of all the states.
Dependency on other
Countries
 In 21st century IR becoming more and
more complex.
 Today each country has became
dependent upon other states for one
or other things.
Global Peace Index (GPI)
 GPI ranks 163 independent states and territories
every year according to their level of
peacefulness. It is considered as one of the most
comprehensive analysis that captures trends in
peace, its economic value, and how to develop
peaceful societies. The multifaceted index uses
23 qualitative and quantitative indicators to
measure state of peace using three thematic
domains: level of societal safety and security;
extent of ongoing domestic and international
conflict; and degree of militarization. It also uses
various parameters like the homicide rate, ease
of access to weapons, impact of terrorism and
number of armed services personnel in
population
India ranked 136th
 India was ranked 136th among 163
countries in Global Peace Index 2018
that was released by Sydney-based
think tank Institute for Economics and
Peace (IEP). In Last year’s index,
India was ranked 137th. 2018 GPI
was twelfth edition of index since it
was launched in 2006. Iceland was
ranked most peaceful country in the
world and it managed to retain its
position since 2008
Global peacefulness
 The average level of global
peacefulness has deteriorated by
2.38% since 2008. Over that period,
85 countries deteriorated, while 75
improved. 71 countries were more
peaceful in 2018 than 2017. 92
countries were less peaceful in 2018
than in 2017. The GPI average
deteriorated 0.27% from 2017 to 2018.
What Can I Become If I Study International
Relations
International Relations is one of the key ways you
can make the world a better place. You'll have the
opportunity to maintain positive diplomatic relations
between countries, prevent international conflicts,
and make sure things run smoothly between
governments in our highly interconnected world.
As an international relations specialist,
you will have a broad set of career
options in addition to politics,
including in fields like economics,
social systems and the cultural
life of communities.
Role of WTO in IR
 1. To improve the standard of living of people in the
member countries.
 2. To ensure full employment and broad increase in
effective demand.
 3. To enlarge production and trade of goods.
 4. To increase the trade of services.
 5. To ensure optimum utilization of world resources.
 6. To accept the concept of sustainable development
GLOBAL GOALS
 Reduce Violence Everywhere
 Significantly reduce all forms of
violence and related death rates
everywhere.
Protect Children from Abuse,
Trafficking and Violence
End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms
of violence against and torture of children.
 Promote the Rule of Law And Ensure
Equal Access to Justice
 Promote the rule of law at the national
and international levels and ensure
equal access to justice for all.
• Substantially Reduce
Corruption and Bribery
• Substantially reduce corruption and
bribery in all their forms.
• Provide Universal Legal
Identity
• By 2030, provide legal identity for all,
including birth registration.
Conclusion
 Yet the international community fully
realized the supreme importance of the
virtue of peace against the evil of war
only after having suffered the most
unfortunate and highly destructive two
World Wars in the first half of the 20th
century. The blood soaked shreds of
humanity that lay scattered in several
hundred battle grounds, particularly on
the soils of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,
cried for peace, peace and peace on the
earth.
