Preparation
Write the chart blew on the blackboard or put it on the screen,
fonts needs to be big and clear.

Opening (5 min)
● Review the vocabulary in the chart learnt in the last class
● Borrow three pens from three students and hold it
in hand. Take one pen and say: XXX's pen, XXX的笔
2. , have students repeat your word, and emphasis "
的" in each sentence.
● Tell the students that our goal today is to learn
about the particle indicates that the previous
word has possession of the next one, which is "的
"
● Present the character "的" on the screen and lead
students to read it, then, appoint random
students to read it
Learning Episode 1 (5 min)
● Go over the vocabularies again, the goal is not have students
remember all of them, it is to help students get familiar with
them, facilitating the grammar teaching
● Ask in English: whose pen is it? When students
say: this is my pen, repeat in Chinese: 你的笔
(point at the students). Then turn to another
student: this is her pen, right? So, 她的笔
(Point at the owner of the pen), XXX的笔 (XXX's
pen). Repeat this conversation for a few round so
the students could start to realize what is "的",
and emphasis "的" in every sentence you say
● Move on to next episode when practiced enough
Learning Episode 2 (5 min)
● Review the vocabularies again
● Activity: The lost and found box keeper with bad hearing
1. Borrow one pen from each student and put into the lost and
found box
2.Take one pen out and ask in Chinese: 谁的笔
(whose pen is it?)
3. 3.The owner would say in Chinese: 我的笔 (my
pen).
4.Pretend you did not hear him or her and ask
the student next to you in Chinese: 谁的笔
(whose pen is it)?
5.The student will say: 他的笔 (his pen) or XXX
的笔 (XXX's pen)
6.Give the pen back to the owner and also pass the box to the
owner
7.The game goes on until everyone got their pen back
