2. Content…
• The group I will be promoting is a girl group that consists of four 18 year
olds. They are very girly and stylish and most of their work would be about
love, targeting teenage girls.
• As the band is very girly, I will use the colours pink and silver on the dvd
cover and on the magazine advertisement. Pink would show the feminine
side of the band and the silver would show the glamorous side of them.
• On the dvd cover , it would include a full length picture of each of the four
girls in dresses and heels so the audience would get an idea of what the
band are about just through what they are wearing. It would also be another
way apart from a music video to get the band visually known and puts faces
to the songs. The background would be plain pink with silver outlines of their
bodies.
• The advertisement for the dvd cover will be in magazines like ‘Heat’ and
‘Closer’, as these are usually read by teenage girls.
3. • The song I will be making the music video to is called ‘I wish you would’
www.myspace.com/4flava
• The song is about how the girl is still in love with her ex boyfriend ,talking
about how good they was together, but he does not want her back.
• The video will contain elements of narrative and performance.
• In the video, there will be her seeing her ex with another girl, and her
reminiscing about the times they spent together. (black and white flash
backs)
• It will also show scenes of her alone at home, also her tying to speak to him.
• I would want to use a lot of fades to go with the slow pace of the song.

• In the performance elements of the video, it will show the whole band singing
together to give the band an image and to show their togetherness.
4. Audience
• The audience that this band will target their music at is girls from ages 14-18, as the girls in the
band are in their late teens so they can look up to them and want to be like them.
• They will be girly girls who are interested in make up and boys – this will be shown through the
bands song as it is about her previous relationship.
• It will also be shown through the colours used on the dvd cover and magazine advertisement
• The band would not be shown wearing too many revealing clothes as they do not want to give out
a sexual image to the teenagers , however they would be wearing dresses and heels that are
appropriate for that age group but this would still show that they are flirtatious and make the
audience look up to them.
• As most of the bands songs and lyrics are about love, teenage girls can relate to them as they
themselves might be going through the same thing and the same situations.
• They would be interested in pop music and watch music programmes like MTV and smash hits.
• They would watch TV programmes like T4 and enjoy things like shopping with friends, partying and
going to the cinema etc. The band would target this audience by making several appearances and
taking part in interviews on T4.
• Other bands that the audience would like are The Saturdays, Girls Aloud, SugarBabes.
5. Style and form
• The style of the music is pop
• The theme within the music video would be relationships
• The dvd cover and magazine advertisement will have a
very girly feel to it, including pink and silver colours.
• The target audience will be able to see the bands style
through the clothes that they wear and the lyrics of their
songs.
• Similar bands include: Sugar babes and Girls Aloud.
• Although they are similar to these bands, they have four
members to their band, unlike other girl bands that are
out at the moment.
6. Representation
• I will be conforming to the stereotype of typical
teenage girls, as they are interested in boys,
shopping, make up etc.
• It will be obvious by the way they dress and the
lyrics of their songs as they are about boys and
relationships.
• They will not be represented in a sexual way as
it would not be appropriate to their target
audience. They would wear sexy but respectable
clothes.
• They would be similar to ‘The Saturdays’, as
they also target teenage girls.
