As TEQSA ramps-up its interest in how higher education institutions are mediating a level of quality in online courses, it is timely for our institutions to understand what options they have at their disposal to help meet, what will eventually become, obligatory reporting. This will predictably involve being able to provide evidence of quality processes across three levels; the unit/course level, the course/program level and at an institutional level. To help an institution establish, or initiate practices to assist them in meeting these requirements, there are a number of existing and emerging tools that are now being used and trialled within the sector. There are also a number of professional bodies who are really keen to get involved in this space, mainly as a way of supporting their members and member institutions. This presentation will present a systematic review of the literature and a sector scan of the current tools and methodologies being used by a range of institutions and professional bodies. It will also provide some insights into what tools are emerging in this space. To support, or augment these tools and methodologies, there are also a range of support, or scaffolding activities institutions can, or have been be involved in, as they seek to support their internal quality improvement practices. Examples of current practices will be drawn on to illustrate the main points in this presentation along with a brief report on the most recent ACODE Inter-institutional Benchmarking Summit, held in June 2018 at Griffith University. At this event 25 Australasian Institutions undertook a rigorous benchmarking activity using some or all of the eight benchmarks focusing on technology enhanced learning and teaching. In conclusion this presentation will challenge institutions to take seriously their mandate to provide their students with learning environments that meet the highest possible quality, particularly now in a higher education setting that will come under increased scrutiny by regulatory bodies. More importantly, it will reflect on what the potential implications are for institutions in moderating their learning management and associated systems.

A presentation from Connect More 2020 by Elizabeth Newall, senior librarian, University of Nottingham and Richard Windle, faculty of medicine digital learning director, University of Nottingham. At the start of the current academic year, the University of Nottingham endorsed a set of recommendations to address the gaps in the provision of support for students in developing their digital capabilities. In January, a sub-committee had been established to support the transition of these recommendations into new provision. In February, a robust scoring matrix had been designed to reach agreement on a set of priorities. In March, the pandemic hit. In this session, hear how the institutional strategy on student digital capabilities has been affected by the current crisis, what measures have been taken to support this year’s students, and what plans are underway to support the student experience for new and returning students at the start of the next academic year.

The "Future of Trade 2024: Snapshot" report by DMCC explores the transformative changes and emerging trends in the global trade landscape. As the fifth edition of DMCC's biennial flagship report, it highlights how shifting political and economic alliances, technological advancements, and sustainability initiatives are reshaping trade dynamics. Key themes include the rise of regionalization due to geopolitical tensions, the reconfiguration of supply chains, the integration of AI, and the drive towards carbon net-zero. The report underscores the significance of adapting to new realities, such as the "chip war" between the US and China, and the pivotal role of AI and sustainability in driving trade efficiency and creating new market demands. It also addresses the strategic implications for businesses and policymakers, emphasizing the need for agility and foresight. Furthermore, the report delves into the drivers of change, such as geopolitical events, technological innovations, and environmental shifts, which are set to influence trade policies and consumer behavior. It offers insights from global experts and roundtables, providing strategic advice for navigating the complexities of modern trade. Ultimately, the "Future of Trade 2024: Snapshot" serves as a comprehensive guide for understanding the evolving trade environment, equipping stakeholders with the knowledge to make informed decisions and capitalize on emerging opportunities in a rapidly changing world.

Building Moonshots In today's rapidly evolving world, many industries have experienced disruption or are on the cusp of one. While organisations often discuss the importance of innovation and disruption for growth, it's not uncommon to find ourselves defaulting to familiar patterns and maintaining the status quo. To thrive amidst this change, businesses of all sizes must adopt strategic foresight not as an option but as an essential strategy. Developing strategic foresight enables organizations to anticipate and proactively respond to future challenges, ensuring they remain adaptable and resilient in an ever-changing landscape. By moving beyond "business as usual" thinking and embracing innovative approaches, companies can position themselves for long-term success.
