The Preterite Tense 
In English: I played/I did play 
Add the endings to the stem – ie. the infinitive minus the last two letters 
-AR -ER / -

George ate a sandwich in the canteen. 2. Toby listened to Eminem on his iPod. 3. Emily and Hannah wrote love letters. 4. Lisa ate a sandwich in France. 5. We talked a lot. 6. Josh drank a litre of apple juice. After, he vomited. 7. Chloe talked on the phone for 4 hours. 8. Jack, you chatted on facebook with Tom.
