combining counting and weighing to provide a genuine and added-value solution for packing large amounts of seeds.
For many decades, low-price and high quantity seed bags have been packed by weight. The upside of this packaging model is the increased
ability to achieve greater output at a lower price-point. However, when dealing with seeds, where no two objects are alike, quantity variations
per packed bag can vary from 3% to 5%.
Until recently, the seed industry tried to reduce weight variation by performing periodical offline sampling during the packaging process. This
labor-intensive and imprecise practice requires an operator to count according to a predetermined number, then weigh the count, record the
TSW/TKW (Thousand Seed Weight) data and manually change the weight filler set-point.
With DATA’s new solution, inline counting and weighing sampling become fully automated and in real-time. TSW/TKW parameters are
communicated live to the weight filler which auto-adjusts the set-point accordingly. The result: More precise seed per Lb. or TSW, with
accurate calibration of weight-filling scales.
Inherent errors of counted-by-weight seed bags are reduced, while packing accuracy is increased.
The DATA Count S -60 PLUS can easily be integrated into any packing line, with no need for mechanical or engineering changes.
Using this unique solution, large quantities of seeds - as small as 0.5 mm and as large as 25 mm - can be rapidly and accurately counted.
