The total area available is 9.2 hectares. It has a frontage of about 500m along the main Ghazipur road. Main entry to ISBT is from Road No. AH-56. The present ISBT is functional in the name of Vivekanand Inter State Bus Terminal, Anand Vihar, East DelhiFacilities

•Sitting chairs lights and fans facility on every platform with the automatic generate system.

FUTURE PROSPECTSIn the proposed plans for Anand Vihar transit hub the main spine which connects all three together is foot over bridge. Delhi Transport Corporation(DTC) operates the world's largest fleet of CNG-powered buses. 
•Delhi city is considered to have the highest road density 
•Have a connection to NH 24 
•Inter state and Intra state bus facilities available 
•One of the important transport hub after Kashmere Gate ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT 
ISSUES: ANALYSIS 
•500mstretch between the entry point ofAnand ViharInterstate Bus Terminus (ISBT) and the railway station on Chaudhary CharanSinghMargis a bottleneck 
•More than half of the carriageway is occupied -Roadways buses 
•problem is compounded by Gramin Sewas parked randomly to attract passengers and the hawkers dotting the area. 
•little-used, footbridge in the area 
•UP Roadways bus terminus -petrol pump, which caters to more than 100 vehicles in an hour 
•Three-wheelers are parked on this stretch to pick up passengers coming from the railway station 
•drivers prefer to park on road and, that too, haphazardly. 
•petrol pump, which has a contract with long-distance bus operators, can cater to only five buses at a time, so the rest line up on the road. 
•It takes about 30 minutes to cross the stretch during the peak hoursFUTURE REQUIREMENT ? There is a requirement for 11,000 public transport buses in Delhi and, as per an agreement between DTC and DIMTS, both are mandated to run 5,500 buses each in the city. While DTC currently operates around 5,000 buses, DIMTS has only 1,157 cluster buses, or 4,343 less than the required 5,500 as per the commitment. 
In accordance with decision taken by Ministry of Urban Development in consultation with Delhi Development Authority and Govt. of Delhi, Anand Vihar became functional with effect from March, 1996. Inter State as well as local bus services are being operated from here. Day to day functioning is managed under the control of general Manager who is subordinated by Deputy General Manager, Accounts Officer, Executive Engineer and other staff including the Engineering financial and administrative. Besides one estate manager is posted for each ISBT to look after the functioning of his respective ISBT.

•Density of passengers travel by local train/ EMU’s is very high. 
•Maximum of number of passengers (mainly office goers and college students) travel by train between Ghaziabad and Delhi (as it has a good connectivity and also a cheaper mode of transport) . 
•So many number of people interchange their mode of transport at Anand Vihar. ANAND VIHAR RAILWAY TERMINAL 
ANAND VIHAR LOCAL RAILWAY STATIONREADING : 
•developed to decongest the New Delhi Railway Station, Delhi Junction (Old Delhi) and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. 
•helped to relieve congestion on roads into New Delhi, reducing the load of a million people daily entering the city. 
•the rail over bridge at Anand Vihar is planned as the current structure is not capable for handling the traffic. ANALYSISPhase 2 Development 
•number of platforms will be increased to 7 in total 
•terminal will have a capacity to handle over 3 lakh passengers and as many as 270 trains daily. 
•linking of this terminal with the original Anand Vihar station.

Evolution of AnandViharRailway Terminus 
To reduce the passenger pressure at the existing stations, the requirement of additional major passenger terminals was identified by theNorthern Railways. The East-bound trains from Delhihad to cross the bridge overRiver Yamunaas all the three major stations are located on the other side of the river. Thus, the area of AnandViharwas selected in the trans-Yamuna region to construct a mega-railway terminal. 
•In Recent Years, since NoidaSector 62 became the DTC Bus Stop, hundreds of commuters who earlier used to go to AnandViharISBT to commute further to travel to west and south Delhi were shifted to NoidaSector 62 due to which they are connected to DND flyway. 
•It has decreased the intensity of people at AnandViharISBT and Metro. 
Present (2014) 
Development 
AnandViharRailway Station Phase-II is under construction which will be having 7 number of platforms including the existing 3 platforms in the Phase-I of the project. AnandViharHalt (ANVR) will also be integrated with ANVT according to the proposed design. HISTORY AND EVOLUTIONOctober 2000Only AnandViharISBT and local AnandViharRailway Station (ANVR / Halt) exists. October 2006Clearance of the site for construction of AnandViharTerminal Phase 1. •Since the train schedule is well planned, the frequency of people on Railway terminalduring train arrivals and departures is uniform throughout and continuous 24 hours. 
•Density is not very high at any time of the day

•Caters to many local and distant passengers during the whole day. 
•It is a main transit point for distant passengers as number of state / depot buses are available and also for local / daily passengersas DTC has provided with number of buses connecting people to almost to every place within Delhi / NCR. 
ANAND VIHAR LOCAL RAILWAY STATION 
•Density of passengers travel by local train/ EMU’s is very high. 
•Maximum of number of passengers (mainly office goers and college students) travel by train between Ghaziabad and Delhi (as it has a good connectivity and also a cheaper mode of transport) . 
•So many number of people interchange their mode of transport at Anand Vihar. 
CONTINUITY / CHANGES 
With daily changing time cycle, there is still a continuity in everyday routineMetroBusTrainANAND VIHAR METRO STATIONMetro Station is always filled with lots of passengers due to the reasons – 
•Metro station has so many users as this is the main junction / transitpoint for those people who commute between Delhi and Ghaziabad (UP). 
•Frequency of metroservice is after every 2-5 min. due to whichmaximum people opt for metro. 
•This makes the place always happening except during closing hours. continuity and changes

ROADWAYS… Delhi Transport Corporation(DTC) operates the world's largest fleet of CNG-powered buses. •Delhi city is considered to have the highest road density •Have a connection to NH 24 •Inter state and Intra state bus facilities available •One of the important transport hub after Kashmere Gate ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT ISSUES: ANALYSIS •500mstretch between the entry point ofAnand ViharInterstate Bus Terminus (ISBT) and the railway station on Chaudhary CharanSinghMargis a bottleneck •More than half of the carriageway is occupied -Roadways buses •problem is compounded by Gramin Sewas parked randomly to attract passengers and the hawkers dotting the area. •little-used, footbridge in the area •UP Roadways bus terminus -petrol pump, which caters to more than 100 vehicles in an hour •Three-wheelers are parked on this stretch to pick up passengers coming from the railway station •drivers prefer to park on road and, that too, haphazardly. •petrol pump, which has a contract with long-distance bus operators, can cater to only five buses at a time, so the rest line up on the road. •It takes about 30 minutes to cross the stretch during the peak hoursFUTURE REQUIREMENT ? There is a requirement for 11,000 public transport buses in Delhi and, as per an agreement between DTC and DIMTS, both are mandated to run 5,500 buses each in the city. While DTC currently operates around 5,000 buses, DIMTS has only 1,157 cluster buses, or 4,343 less than the required 5,500 as per the commitment. In accordance with decision taken by Ministry of Urban Development in consultation with Delhi Development Authority and Govt. of Delhi, Anand Vihar became functional with effect from March, 1996. Inter State as well as local bus services are being operated from here. Day to day functioning is managed under the control of general Manager who is subordinated by Deputy General Manager, Accounts Officer, Executive Engineer and other staff including the Engineering financial and administrative. Evolution of AnandViharRailway Terminus To reduce the passenger pressure at the existing stations, the requirement of additional major passenger terminals was identified by theNorthern Railways. The East-bound trains from Delhihad to cross the bridge overRiver Yamunaas all the three major stations are located on the other side of the river. Thus, the area of AnandViharwas selected in the trans-Yamuna region to construct a mega-railway terminal. •In Recent Years, since NoidaSector 62 became the DTC Bus Stop, hundreds of commuters who earlier used to go to AnandViharISBT to commute further to travel to west and south Delhi were shifted to NoidaSector 62 due to which they are connected to DND flyway. •It has decreased the intensity of people at AnandViharISBT and Metro. Present (2014) Development AnandViharRailway Station Phase-II is under construction which will be having 7 number of platforms including the existing 3 platforms in the Phase-I of the project. AnandViharHalt (ANVR) will also be integrated with ANVT according to the proposed design.
