FUTURE SOLDIER
TECHNOLOGY USA
FUTURE SOLDIER
TECHNOLOGY USA 2019
24th -25th
JUNE
2. Dear Colleague,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us at Future Soldier
Technology USA, taking place on the 24th-25th of June in Arlington,
VA, USA., North Americaâs premier conference dedicated solely
to dismounted Soldier and Marine equipment modernization
and capability development. The meeting will bring together a
community of key government planners, policy makers, combat and
materiel developers, and decision-makers as well as industry partners,
to drive discussion on the future of Soldier/Marine modernization and
accelerate promising close combat initiatives.
In the face of identified pacing threats, rapid technological
developments and the changing nature of warfare in the 21st
century, the dismounted Soldier/Marine remains the key conduit for
success in modern multi-domain operations. The US and coalition
militaries recognize the need to strengthen and more tightly integrate
both the individual Soldier/Marine and the squad, as reflected in the
Armyâs key modernization priority of enhancing soldier lethality and
achieving the new level of warfighting overmatch.
The task of developing a more lethal, mobile, survivable, connected,
and resilient Soldier/Marine are being aided by leveraging innovative
and immersive technologies including artificial intelligence, machine
learning, and augmented, âmixedâ or virtual reality. With innovative
projects and programs under developments including next generation
weapons and fire control (NGSW-AR/R/FC), Nett Warrior, IVAS and
Squad X, there has never been a more key time to discuss how new
technologies and agile approaches to soldier modernization can help
produce a more âexpeditionary, mobile, hardened, and intuitiveâ
war-fighter.
This high-level, immersive gathering with support from the DoD
community, PEO Soldier, USMC Systems Command, US Army Futures
Command, the Close-Combat Lethality Task Force and an array of
international military representatives, will drive critical thinking and
provide a platform for government, academia, and industry to join
together to address the latest developments and requirements for
dismounted Soldier/Marine operations.
I believe this conference is the perfect forum for this important topic
and I would hope that we can, through the medium of spirited
discussion and networking, enhance our approach, analysis, and
solutions to address close combat overmatch against pacing threats.
I urge you to join us in June 2019 to participate alongside a diverse set
of international experts and decision makers, in both the dismounted
soldier situational awareness focus day and the wider conference to
realize this goal.
Looking forward to your presence,
Colonel (Retâd) Richard Hansen, Former Program
Manager, Soldier Warrior, PEO Soldier, US Army
