Several European countries plan to begin using scanner data to compile price statistics in 2016 and 2017. Eurostat has provided grants totaling over 3 million euros since 2013 to support countries' work implementing scanner data and related areas. Eurostat will continue supporting this work through future grants and workshops, and aims to produce recommendations on obtaining and processing scanner data by the end of 2015 and in 2016.
