  2. 4. Create Profiles <ul><li>Visit www.facebook.com </li></ul>Note: You must have a valid e-mail address to sign up for facebook.
  3. 5. Verify that you are human Facebook goes to these measures to ensure that potentially harmful “dataseeking” entities cannot join facebook.
  4. 6. Enter your e-mail address to find the people you e-mail on facebook!
  5. 7. Provide your information (we’ll get to privacy later) for your profile— Why? So a school friend or an old co-worker can find you and get in touch!
  6. 8. Take a picture of yourself. Upload it to facebook from your computer! (Camera 101 is a different class). You’re done! Don’t forget to click the link in the e-mail sent by facebook to finalize set up!

  9. 11. Share updates Post your thoughts or a picture to your profile, and it will appear in your friend’s newsfeed , an aggregation of a user’s friend’s updates.

  11. 13. Search for Users Use the search box (located on the top of every page) to find friends or to ‘LIKE’ your favorite business, LIBRARY, or brands.

  15. 17. This information is the utmost importance. There are 4 levels to choose from: “everyone,” “friends of friends,” “friends only,” or “only me.” Choose wisely.
