This document defines and provides examples of three verbals: gerunds, infinitives, and participles. Gerunds are verbs ending in "-ing" that function as nouns. Infinitives are verbs preceded by "to" that can function as anything but a verb or preposition. Participles are verbs ending in "-ed", "-ing", or "-d" that function as adjectives.
