2. What is the Texas Teacher STaR Chart? (School Technology and Readiness) It is used for planning and self assessing. It is helps teachers, campuses and districts determine their progress toward meeting technology goals. It reveals the impact of state/local efforts to improve learning through the use of technology.
3. Why was the Texas STaR Chart Developed? It was developed to align with the four key areas of the Texas Long-Range Plan: Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation and Development Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support Infrastructure for Technology
4. What Are Some Uses of the STaR Chart? It makes teachers aware of their professional development needs. It provides data for the state and local school to use to determine what progress is being made. It identifies what funding priorities are needed for the teacher and classroom.
10. Small Group Discussion Using the charts provided, identify areas of strength for the campus. Discuss areas of weakness for the campus. Share your ideas on specific ways that the campus can improve its levels. Share with the faculty the group’s findings.
11. Summary The Texas STaR Chart : Highlights the progress of teacher technology goals. Provides teachers with specific feedback for professional development needs. Supplies data for grants and budget use. Offers a shared vision for a campus or district.
