Daisy-Chained™ Cloud Tools

For the past 3 years I've been honing and refining the practice of interconnecting cloud-based platforms to create powerful and nimble analytics infrastructures—a practice I call daisy-chaining™. This unique approach to big data strategy recognizes that a data pipeline comprised of world-class cloud platforms—each with their own specialties, dev teams and product roadmaps—yields an analytics infrastructure that's not just reliable and easy to maintain, but constantly improves over time. That same infrastructure can link directly to on-prem services thanks to data warehousing capabilities made possible by platforms at the top of the daisy-chain™.

In short, daisy-chaining™ cloud platforms make big data strategies and predictive analytics accessible to even the most budget-conscious teams, including newsrooms.

I've successfully implemented daisy-chained™ data infrastructures for a number of Fortune 500 and startup clients with great success—helping those companies rapidly increase their user engagement, retention, and viral growth. And on February 7th, 2018, I had the great pleasure of speaking briefly about daisy-chained™ cloud tools at the Analyze Boulder Meet-up.

In this presentation I talk about how daisy-chaining™ cloud tools forms the backbone of Unified Data Analytics—all with a single source of data "truth". It's the magic of measuring website activity with Segment, enriching identified users with Clearbit, exploring enriched metrics with Mixpanel, automating highly targeted marketing with Intercom, and rolling up all of the data in a unified Klipfolio dashboard. This setup is the foundation of an even more powerful infrastructure—one that enables the unification of social footprint analytics, app store download data, and automated NPS surveys all in a single set of dashboards.
