Brain Development<br />Contrary to previous beliefs, the human brain is<br />still developing during teen years and even into the 20’s. There is a second overproduction of grey matter at this age, after which the brain goes through a pruning period. Teens can control the way that their brains develop.<br />

Effects of Alcohol Use<br />Teens are more vulnerable to the effects of alcohol than adults. They can suffer long-term effects as a result of drinking alcohol.<br />

Teens and Understanding<br />Teens differ from adults in their ability to read and understand emotions. Their frontal lobe, <br />which controls rational thinking, is less active than the amygdala, which is involved in discriminating fear and other emotions. Since teens process information differently than adults, <br />arguments between parents and teens.<br />
