Definisi:
Report text adalah sebuah teks yang menyampaikan suatu fenomena atau hal yang berdasarkan hasil
dari observasi yang tersusun secara sistematik. Teks report disusun sejelas-jelasnya dan tanpa dilebih-
lebihkan berdasarkan fakta yang sesuaidengan apa yang tertulis di dalam hasil observasi. Biasanya
report text menjelaskan tentang Fenomena Alam, Binatang, Tumbuhan, Benda, Negara dan lain-lain.
Fungsi:
Report text berfungsi untuk menyampaikan sebuah informasi mengenai suatu hal yang bersifat fakta
dan merupakan hasil obseravi.
Generic Structure:
Ada 2 bagian di dalam report text yaitu
General Classification
Pada bagian pertama report text merupakan general classification. Bagian ini berisi tentang informasi-
informasi umum yang berdasarkan pada hasil pengamatan yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya baik
tentang fenomena alam, hewan binatang, tumbuhan dan lain-lain. Berbeda dengan descriptive tect,
report text memaparkan informasi-informasi yang umum.
Description
Paragraph selanjutnya disebut dengan description. Bagian description pada report text memiliki fungsi
yang sama pada descriptive text yaitu mendeskripsikan lebih jauh tau detail hasil-hasil dari penelitian
tersebut secara lebih terperinci.

Polar Bears
Polar bear is very large and strong animals. This animal can be found at the North Pole which is the
coldest regions on earth. While at the South Pole there is no even a polar bear.
If in standing position, polar bear is very high. Its height can reach 3 meters and its weighs is
approximately 450 pounds. They can use their front legs as hands and their back feet as they foot to
walk. Polar bears have very thick fur to protect themselves from the cold of ice in the North Pole. The
white color of their fur helps them camouflaged with snow. Although polar bears are very large and
heavy, they are good swimmers. They can swim as far as 120 km away from the mainland.
The polar bear is the second highest predators in the North Pole after killer whales. They like to eat
fish, seals, and penguins. Polar bear nest in caves which are in the Ice. Unlike other types of bears,
polar bears do not hibernate. Hibernation is a state in which they are asleep all winter.
However,the current population of polar bears in their natural is decline. Many polar bears are hunted
by poachers for its fur. Therefore,the Government of Canada,USA and Russia banned the hunting of
polar bears
2. 2. NARRATIVE TEXT
Generic Structure Narrative Text
Pada Narrative Text, susunannya adalah sebagai berikut :
a. Orientation
Yaitu pengenalan yang berupa : cerita tentang apa (what is the story about), siapa pelaku
dalam cerita itu (who is the participant), dimana cerita itu terjadi (where is the place setting)
dan kapan cerita itu terjadi (when is the time setting).
b. Complication atau Problem
Yaitu pada paragraf ini yang menjadi inti dari narrative text. Tanpa ada permasalahan, text ini
hanyalah berupa paparan peristiwa satu yang diikuti dengan peristiwa yang lain.
c. Resolution Yaitu masalah dapat diatasi. Dalam Narrative text, setiap permasalahan yang muncul
harus ada penyelesaiannya, bisa ditutup dengan akhir yang menyenangkan (happy ending) atau tidak
sedikit berakhir tragis, menyedihkan (sad ending).
d. Re-Orientation Hanya untuk Optional
The Apple Tree And A Boy
Once upon a time, there was a huge apple tree which gave tasty apples to the people around
it. There was also a little boy who became a close friend to the apple tree. The boy used to
play with apple tree, climb its branches, sleep under its shadow, pluck its apples, etc. Every
day he visited the apple tree, and ate some apples. The apple tree was kind to the boy and
enjoying spending time together.One day, the boy joined in school and didn’t have a time to
spend with apple tree. After several days, the boy came to the tree. The apple tree was so
happy to see the boy. It asked the boy to play.
Unfortunately, the boy said he was not a child anymore. He didn’t want to play with the tree.
But he asked another request to the apple tree.
The tree asked what the boy wanted. The boy said he needed toys, but his parents didn’t have
money to buy it for him.
The tree said, “Dear my boy, i don’t have any money to buy it for you, but you can pick my
apples, then sell them, get money and buy the toys you want.”
The boy went happily to his home after plucking apples. The tree was waiting to see the boy
return. But he never came back for many years.
The apple tree was sad and it didn’t produce any apples anymore.
Moral value : Never forget about someone kindness.

B. Tujuan Komunikatif Teks Recount
Tujuan komunikatif Recount Text sepertipenjelasan di atas adalah untuk melaporkan peristiwa,
kejadian atau kegiatan dengan tujuan memberitakan atau menghibur tentunya tanpa ada konflik di
dalam cerita tersebut.
C.GenericstructureTeksRecount
1.Orientation
Orientation atau pengenalan yaitu memberikan informasi tentang siapa, di mana, dan kapan peristiwa
atau kegiatan itu terjadi di masa lampau.
2.Events
Events merupakan rekaman peristiwa yang terjadi, yang biasanya disampaikan dalam urutan
kronologis, seperti "In the first day, I ... . And in the next day ... . And In the last day ...". Di bagian
Events ini juga biasanya terdapat komentar pribadi tentang peristiwa atau kejadian yang diceritakan.
3.Reorientation
Pada bagian Reorientation,terdapat pengulangan pengenalan yang ada di Orientation,pengulangan
yang merangkum rentetan peristiwa, kejadian atau kegiatan yang diceritakan.
Our trip to the Blue Mountain
Orientation
On Friday we went to the Blue Mountains. We stayed at David and Della’s house. It has a big garden
with lots of colourful flowers and a tennis court.
(Pada hari jumat kami pergi ke Blue Mountains.Kami menginap di rumah David dan Della. Rumah
tersebut mempunyai sebuah taman yang besar dengan banyak bunga warna warni dan sebuah
lapangan tenis.)
Events
On Saturday we saw the Three Sisters and went on the scenic railway. It was scary. Then, Mummy
and I went shopping with Della. We went to some antique shops and I tried on some old hats. On
Sunday we went on the Scenic Skyway and it rocked. We saw cockatoos having a shower.

procedure text bertujuan untuk membantu atau memberitahu pembaca cara melakukan
/ membuat sesuatu. Informasi disajikan dengan urutan peristiwa yang logis. Peristiwa tersebut
dibagi menjadi beberapa langkah.
Generic Structure of Procedure Text
1. Goal (Maksud atau tujuan)
2. Material Needed (Alat / Materi / Bahan yang diperlukan)
3. Methods or Steps (Langkah-langkah / metode)
*Catatan : Pada procedure text yang berjudul “How to . . .” biasanya tidak memerlukan
aturan.
CAP CAY (Indonesian Style)
Cap Cay is a Indonesian food that is from influence of Chinese food. A lot of Indonesian
people adapt this recipe and you can find every region in Indonesia, especially at Chinese or
seafood restaurant. The word CAP CAY is from Chinese Fujian dialect, which mean “mixed
vegetable”. Although this is vegetable recipe, but you can combine with prawn, chicken,
beef, squid, tofu or meatball. This recipe is very easy and fast to cook.
(Serving for 3-4 person)
Ingredients :
1.7 oz (50 g) of sugar snap peas
2 Chicken thighs (bone and thinly sliced)
2 carrots (thinly sliced)
1 large tomato (cut into wedges)
3.5 oz (100 g) broccoli/cauliflower florets
5-6 wild mushrooms (sliced)
1 bunch of Chinese broccoli (washed and roughly chopped)
2 cloves of garlic (finely chopped)
2 teaspoon ginger (finely chopped)
½ onions (thinly sliced)
1 C of chicken stock
2 Tbsp of corn starch (more if needed) dissolved in 1 Tbsp water
Salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbsp oyster sauce
2 Tbsp of Olive oil/ Canola oil
Instructions :
1. Heat up oil in the wok. Add in garlic, onions, ginger and stir fry until they are
fragrant
5. 2. Add in chicken meat and oyster sauce. Saute until it is cooked. Add in
broccoli/ cauliflower florets, carrots, snap peas, chinese broccoli, and tomato
wedges and cook until they are soft
3. Add in chicken stock and let it simmer for about 1 minute. Season with salt
and pepper
4. Add in corn starch mixture and stir until the sauce is thickened. If it’s not
thickened enough, you can repeat the corn starch mixture and add more
5. Remove from the heat and place on the serving plate. Serve immediately with
rice and other dishes.
6. Enjoy the food.

A.Pengertian Descriptive Text
Descriptive Text merupakan jenis teks yang banyak digunakan dalam kehidupan
sehari-hari dalam menggambarkan benda, tempat, manusia, hewan dan lain
sebagainya. Descriptive Text adalah sebuah teks bahasa Inggris untuk
mengggmbarkan seperti apa benda atau mahluk hidup yang kita deskripsikan, baik
secara kenampakan, bau, suara, atau tekstur daribenda atau makhluk hidup
tersebut.
B.Tujuan Komunikatif Descriptive Text
Tujan Komunikatif dari Descriptive Text adalah untuk menggambarkan dan
mengungkapkan ciri-ciri dari benda, tempat, atau mahluk tertentu secara umum,
tenpa adanya riset atau peneilitan secara mendalam dan menyuluruh.
C. Generic Structure Descriptive Text
Di setiap Descriptive Text terdapat dua bagian yang menjadi ciri dari Descriptive
Text itu sendiri. Kedua bagian tersebut adalah:
1.Identification
Idnetification adalah bagian dari Descriptive Text yang berisitentang topik atau
"apa" yang akan digambarkan atau dideskripsikan.
2.Description
Description adalah bagian terakhir dari Descriptive Text yang berisi tentang
pembahasan atau penggambaran tentang topik atau "apa" yang ada di Identification
mengenai kenampakan fisik, kualitas, perilaku umum maupun sifat-sifatnya.
