more kinetic energy, and so the
higher temperature.

6. What is HEAT?
• Is the energy
transferred between
objects that are at
different temperatures

7. Energy will be
transferred when
objects come in
contact with other
objects of different
temperatures.

8. Heat Transfer
There are 3 types of Heat Transfer:
-Conduction
-Convection
-Radiation

9. • Conduction
– The transfer of heat from one substance to
another through direct contact.
Ex) Spoon in a hot pan

10. • Convection
- the transfer of heat through the
movement of a liquid or gas.
Ex) Boiling water in a pot,
heat vent

11. • Radiation
– The transfer of heat through
electromagnetic waves such as
visible light and infrared light
Ex) Sun, coils on a portable heater
