THE EARLY YEARS
Steve Jobs was an incredible man that changed the way our
world works. Born on February 24th, 1955, Steve was adopted at
birth. From the beginning Jobs was always interested in
electronics. I feel that Steve Jobs started out finding something
he loved to do, and had a passion for it. In my mind, this is the
first thing you need when you want to become a leader.
FINDING A PASSION
With the passion and interest in
electronics, Steve was in eighth
grade when he discovered that a
main part of Hewlett Packards
frequency counter was missing.
He called William Hewlett, and
the next thing you know he was
an intern for him that summer. In
his early days, he might not
have considered himself a
leader, but he was on his way.
Putting himself out there and
learning as much as possible
helped his abilities and
knowledge with electronics. He
was able to take what he was
learning from his peers, and
apply that to develop his skills.
TAKING CHANCES
When you think of a leader, you might
think of someone who has a great deal of
                 education and pursued higher education
with multiple degrees. However, this is
not the case with Jobs. He actually
attended college and then dropped out.
                 Not something you would think
happened to him because of all his
success. He still went to school, but only
took some classes for a short time that
interested him. He was developing his
skills, and setting a vision up of what he
wanted to do in the electronic world. He
also thought about things differently, and
did not just follow what others were
                 doing.
THE TURNING POINT
After many years working for other
technology firms, Steve Jobs had a
goal and that is to have his own
company. He co-founds Apple
Computer with Wozniak and Ronald
Wayne. It is here that Jobs can
begin the transformation in the
technology world. They work
together and launch the Apple I and
a year later the Apple II. I think
being a great transformational
leader, you need be able to have a
common goal, and share your
vision with those you lead. Jobs
knew what he wanted, and that was
to bring computers to the everyday
American household.
LEADING THE WORLD
Today, Steve Jobs has transformed the way
we communicate with each other. His
passion, commitment, and drive to push his
limits really sets him apart from the rest. He
was able to commit to his vision and
company, and develop a company not
comparable to the rest. With his
contributions ranging from iPods to
MacBook Pros, Steve Jobs has changed the
way we live in this world. We can now easily
access anyone, anywhere we want. Having
this type of impact of the world makes you
realize how great and transformational Steve
Jobs really was. He went from being an
interested 8th grader, to high school
dropout, to having the most successful
business in the world. Steve has left an
impact on our society. His ideas and
contributions to our world have been huge.
Although he may not be with us here
today, his goals, his vision, and his company
will live on.
