2. Different Resources
There are four resources that teacher
can us in the classroom which are:-
Audio Resources
Text Resources
Video Resources
Visual Resources
3. Different resources
Each of the four resources include the following :
Advantages and Limitations of each medium as described in
your course text.
Possible ways of integration: Share how these resources can
be used in the classroom by noting intended grade level,
subject, topic, objective, and a brief description of how it will
be used.
Provide at least one decoding and one encoding student
activity for each resource.
Resources should adhere to Mayer’s Multimedia principles of
dual coding, reducing extraneous processing, managing
essential processing, and fostering generative processing.
Resources should adhere to design principles
4. Cognitive Theory of Multimedia
Learning
Dr. Mayer introduced his research by
defining the Science of Learning for the
audience and where multimedia learning
fits. He emphasized an important
distinction between learning as
information acquisition, and learning as
knowledge construction. It’s difficult to
view learning as some commodity that can
be taken from the outside world and
placed in someone’s head. His research is
focused on knowledge construction,
which requires an active-learning
approach (although, Mayer noted, the level
of cognitive activity applied to a lesson is
more important than the level of
behavioral activity).
5. How Does Multimedia Learning Work?
Multimedia instruction helps learners
understand concepts with the use of
words and images. Dr. Mayer explained
that there are three cognitive processes
required for meaningful learning:
selecting, organizing, and integrating.
The multimedia techniques of his
research aim to prime these processes.
7. Importance of Technology
O Integrating technology into classroom instruction
means more than teaching basic computer skills.
Effective technology integration must happen
across the curriculum in ways that research shows
deepen and enhance the learning process. In
particular, it must support four key components of
learning: active engagement, participation in
groups, frequent interaction and feedback, and
connection to real-world experts
O Technology integration is achieved when the use
of technology is routine and transparent and when
technology supports curricular goals.
8. Importance of Technology
O Many people believe that technology-enabled
project learning is the plus ultra of classroom
instruction. Learning through projects while
equipped with technology tools allows
students to be intellectually challenged while
providing them with a realistic snapshot of
what the modern office looks like.
O Through projects, students acquire and refine
their analysis and problem-solving skills as
they work individually and in teams to find,
process, and synthesize information they've
found online.
9. Instructional media
O Instructional media was a very interesting
course. I learning new website and new
ways to keep the students interesting in
the classroom . This class focuses on the
technology path which was enjoyable
because it make me create a lot of new
ideas and fun stuff to help engage the
students.
