What are the qualifications about?
This qualification will build both managerial and care skills, whilst fulfilling the regulatory requirement
for those looking to become managers of children’s homes or adult residential and domiciliary
services.
Who are they for?
The qualification is aimed at managers, owners and leaders across a range of health and social
care provision for children, adults or older people.
Level 5:
Learners are required to choose one of six pathways, all of which share five core units. Learners
will also have to complete a certain number of optional units, depending on the pathway chosen:
Children and young people’s management, residential management and advanced practice. Or
Adult’s management, residential management and advanced management.
This comprises mandatory and optional units, including:
• Use and develop systems that promote communication
• Promote professional development
• Champion equality, diversity and inclusion
• Develop health and safety and risk management policies, procedures and practices in health and
social care or children and young people’s settings
• Working in partnership in health and social care, and children and young people’s settings

2 - 3 years. This course duration is
