       Recruitment for the following vacancies of Constable (Tradesmen) in CRPF on All
India basis will be carried out by open rally system at Group Centre, CRPF, Yelahanka,
Bangalore, Karnataka- 560 064 as per details/date shown here under. The posts are
meant for MALE/FEMALE Indian citizens only.

 Note :-   (i)  Recruitment will commence at 0800 hrs on dates shown above.
          (ii)  There is no restriction of domiciliary status for recruitment of above
                posts. The CRPF recruitment is on all India basis.
(iii)No prior application is required to be submitted in this regard.
                Willing/eligible candidates should appear before the CRPF
                Recruitment
                Board at above centre according to their trades.
           (iv) Vacancies released/notified above may vary later on due to administrative
                reasons.
           (v) Vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen will be filled up by fresh candidates
                of respective categories, if suitable Ex-Servicemen do not turn up, as per
                the Ex-Servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Services and posts)
                Rules, 1979.

2.        The Pay Scale for the above post(s) is Pay Band-1 Rs. 5200 – 20,200 with Grade
Pay Rs. 2,000/-.

3.        OtherAllowances:- As admissible to Central Govt. Employees from time to time
under the rules.

4.       Placeofduty :- Any where within as well as outside the Territory of India.

5.        New contributory pension scheme to CRPF Central Govt. Employees which has
come into effect from 01/01/2004 will be applicable to all selected candidates.

6.      Eligibilityconditions forabovepostsare asunder:-
A)     Education             Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized
       Qualification         Board / University.

       Technical              i) For post of Constable(Fitter), candidates
       qualification               must have passed Motor Vehicle Fitter
                                   Course (Automobiles)/Motor Mechanic Course
                                   from ITI or any other recognized institutions
                                   and should have one year experience.
                                   However, wards of CRPF personnel who have
                                   undergone training in ITIs run by CRPF are
                                   exempted      from    one    year   practical
                                   experience.
                              ii) For post of CT(Bugler/ Tailor/ Mochi/
                                   Carpenter/Gardener/ Painter/ Pipe Band/
                                   Brass Band/ Cook/ Water Carrier/Safai
                                   Karmachari      /    Barber/    Washerman)
                                   candidates should be having good working
                                   knowledge of trade in which he/she wishes
                                   to be enlisted.
                              iii) Candidates should qualify trade test at the
                                   time of recruitment process.
B)   Age   Between 18 to 23 Years as on 01/8/2010
           Relaxation

           a) Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for
              SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for OBC
              candidates.

           b) The children and dependent family members
              of those who killed in the riots of 1984 would
              be eligible for CRPF relaxation in age by 5
              years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or
                    OBC category, the relaxation so
              provided in this clause will be in addition
                    to      the age       relaxation      as
              applicable in (a) above.        To obtain this
              relaxation a certificate from the concerned
              District Magistrate of the district where the
                    victim was      killed, should   be
              attached with the application.

           c)    Upper age limit upto 05 years is also
                relaxable for those persons who had
                originally been domiciled in the State of J & K
                during the period from 1st January,1980 to
                31st December,1989. The persons claiming
                relaxation under this category should
                produce a certificate to the effect that they
                had been domiciled in the State of J & K
                during     the     period   CRPF from        1st
                January,1980 to
                31st December,1989 from the District
                Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had
                originally     resided    or     from      any
                authority designated in this behalf by the
                Govt. of J & K.

           d) The children and dependent family members
              of those who killed in the riots of 2002 in
              Gujarat would be eligible for relaxation in age
              by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST
              or OBC category, the relaxation so provided
              in this clause will CRPF be in addition to the
              age relaxation as applicable in (a) above.
                       To obtain this relaxation a certificate
              from the concerned District Magistrate of
              the district where the victim was
                       killed,      should        be
              produced at the time of recruitment.
C)   Physical Standards
     HEIGHT                  For Male candidates            - 170 Cms.
                             For Female Candidates          - 157 Cms

                             Relaxation
                             i) Minimum Height of candidates falling in the
                             categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas,
                             Dogras, Marathas and CRPF candidates
                             belonging to the States of             Sikkim,
                                 Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur,
                                 Tripura, Mizoram,       Meghalaya,    Assam,
                             Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh
                             region of J&K will be for -
                                  Male candidates            - 165 Cms.
                                  Female candidates          - 155 Cms

                          ii) The minimum height for all candidates
                          belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be for –
                               Male candidates           - 162.5 Cms.
                               Female candidates         - 150 Cms
     CHEST (only for male Un-expanded - 80 Cms (with minimum 5 Cms
     candidates)          expansion)
                          Relaxation
                          i) Minimum chest of male candidates falling in
                          the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis,
                          Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates
                          belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland,
                          Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram,
                          Meghalaya, Assam, CRPF Himachal Pradesh,
                          Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh region of J&K will
                          be un- expanded - 78 Cms with minimum
                          5 Cms expansion.

                             ii) The minimum chest for all male candidates
                             belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be un-
                             expanded - 76 Cms with minimum 5 Cms
                             expansion
     WEIGHT                  Proportionate/corresponding to height and age
                             as per Medical standard.
     Note :-       For getting relaxation in height and chest, candidates
     falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras,
     Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland,
     Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, CRPF Mizoram, Meghalaya,
     Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh region of
     J&K are required to submit prescribed certificate as per Annexure – III.
D)      MEDICAL STANDARD a) Eye Sight :-

                                     i) The minimum distance vision should be 6/6
                                     and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e.
                                     without wearing of glasses.

                                     ii) Should be free from colour blindness.

                                     b)        The candidates must not have knock
                                     knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes
                                     and they should possess high colour vision.
                                     They must be in good mental and bodily health
                                     and free from any physical defects likely to
                                     interfere with the efficiency performance of the
                                     duties.

7.        ELIGIBILITYFORRE-EMPLOYMENTOFEX-SERVICEMAN

  The following relaxations are applicable in the matter for recruitment of Ex-servicemen in
CRPF:-

a)   Physical standard           :            Total relaxation.

b)   Educational Qualification   :            Total relaxation.

c)   Character certificate       :            Minimum requirement will be “good” category.

d)   Medical Standard                  :       Shape – I

e) Relaxation of upper age limit :       Relaxation to the extent of military service plus 3
years as provided in DOPT notification No. 3016/10/ 79–Estt-I dated 15/12/79. Break
between Army service and date of re-employment in CRPF should not exceed 24 months.

f) No Physical Efficiency Test will be held for Ex-servicemen at the time of their
recruitment in CRPF. However, Ex-servicemen will be required to appear in written test,
trade test & medical examination.

8.      SELECTIONPROCESS

       No application is required to be submitted in this regard. The recruitment shall be on
open rally system. Willing/eligible candidates should CRPF appear before the Recruitment
Board on the dates prescribed above. Candidates will have to undergo the following test:-
STAGE–I : PET/PST

a)       PHYSICALLYEFFICIENCYTEST

At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to one mile race
to be completed within 10 minutes. This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates
who do not qualify the race, would be eliminated CRPF from the recruitment process by
giving rejection slip intimating reasons thereof by the Presiding Officer.



b)        SCREENINGOFTESTIMONIALS

Required original testimonials/documents of those candidates who qualify one mile race will
be checked and only eligible candidates will be permitted to the next stage of recruitment.
Candidates who fail to produce requisite testimonials/certificates will be
eliminated from the recruitment process and in no case candidates will be allowed
provisionally.

c)        PHYSICALMEASUREMENT

          (i)    The candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be
                 screened for height, chest and weight by the Board of Officers. The
                 candidates who meet the requirements of physical standard will be allowed
                 to participate in the written test. The CRPF candidates who do not fulfill
                 the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from recruitment
                 process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding Officer.

          (ii)   During the process of recruitment, if any candidate is not satisfied with
                 measurement of his physical standard, he can appeal to the Presiding
                 Officer of the Recruitment Board on the same day. The decision of the
                 Presiding Officer will be final.


STAGE–II :WRITTEN TEST

      The candidates who qualify in physical standard test will be required to appear in
written test as per details below :-

i)  The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts, i.e., Part-I - Knowledge
expected from a Class – 10 pass candidates and Part-II relating to knowledge of the Trade.

ii) Questions in Part-I will consist of 50 objective type questions carrying 1 CRPF mark
each to assess the following :-

     a) General awareness / general knowledge
b)   Knowledge of elementary mathematics
       c)   Analytical aptitude.
       d)   Ability to observe and distinguish patterns.
       e)   Basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi.

iii) Questions in Part-II will have both objective and descriptive type questions
consisting of 50 marks, separately for each trade and candidate applied for a particular trade
will be given question paper pertaining to that trade.

iv) The questions CRPF will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the
option to answer either in Hindi or English.

v) Questions in Part-I & II are to be answered using a            pen. Use of pencil will not be
allowed.

vi)         The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours.

vii) No representation for revaluation of written examination paper or re-conduct of written
examination will be entertained.

viii) Candidates should bring clip boards, pens for written examination. Candidates will not
be allowed to carry or keep with them mobile phones, calculators or other electonic/
calculating devices during written examination.


STAGE–III : TRADE TEST

     The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test which will be
qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test, a candidate must
secure 20 marks to qualify. Marks of Trade test will not be accounted while
preparing merit list of selected candidates. During Trade test, a candidate will be
asked to perform CRPF any activity pertaining to that particular trade for which he
has appeared/applied. The parameters for each trade will be as under :-

i)     Bugler          :   Playing of Bugle.
ii)    Tailor          :   Taking measurement of persons, cutting / stitching of Terry Cotton
                           uniform/Civil Clothes. Cutting / stitching of warm clothing/uniform.
iii)   Mochi           :   Having Knowledge of his Trade. Polishing of Shoes, handling of tools,
                           cutting of leather, repair and stitching of shoes. Making of new shoes.
iv)    Carpenter       :   Handling tools, cutting of wood, fitting, polishing and finishing of
                           materials, Knowledge CRPF of fitting of doors and windows / fixing
                           of glass panes on windows. Able to make wooden boxes, racks and to
                           make a timber truss.
v)     Painter      :Knowledge of colours, paints, shades, painting of sign boards, painting
                     and drawing/knowledge of spray painting of motor vehicle etc.
                     Knowledge of colour scheme by mixing different paints/ distempering.
                     Able to write letters neatly CRPF on banners and boards. Able to
                     work out quantity of paints required for wood painting and CGI sheet
vi) Gardener      : painting. of Plantation, maintenance of plants, Knowledge of seeds
                     Knowledge
                     and their seasons, fertilizer and manures.
vii) Brass Band : Knowledge of playing Brass Band instruments.
viii) Pipe Band   : Knowledge of playing Pipe Band instruments.
ix) Fitter        : Knowledge of his Trade. Handling of tools, minor / major repairing of
                     vehicles
x)    Cook        : Cooking of Chapati & Rice / Vegetable / Dal / Sambhar / Idli etc. for
                     100 men, cooking of Meat / Fish /Egg/ Kheer.
xi) Water Carrier :: Washing of utensil, kneading of Atta for making chapattis for about
                     100 men and cutting of vegetable etc.
xii) Safai        : Sweeping of floors, open area and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms etc.
      Karmachari
xiii) Barber      : Handling of tools, hair cutting and shaving.
xiv) Washerman : Washing of clothes, Ironing of Khaki cotton Uniform, woolen and TC
                     Uniform.


STATE–IV : MEDICALEXAMINATION

i.   The candidates qualified in trade test and secured merit (as per written examination
marks) will be medically examined to access their physical and medical fitness as prescribed
in the eligibility condition. During medical examination, “Temporary unfitness” will not be
allowed.

Note :-         The number of candidates to be medically examined will be equal to the
number of vacancies increased by average failure rate during medical examination
determined on the basis of past experience/ recruitment.

Appeal against Medical Examination :-

(i)            If a candidate is declared unfit for appointment in CRPF during Medical
Examination, grounds for rejection will be communicated to him/her in broad terms by the
Medical Officer duly countersigned by the Presiding Officer. The candidates, if not satisfied
with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for review medical examination
with a proof of his/her fitness in the form of a medical certificate as given in Annexure-IV, to
the DIGP, Group Centre, CRPF, Yelahanka, Bangalore, Karnataka- 560 064 from a
Medical Practioner.

(ii)         The appeal will not be taken into consideration unless:-
(a)     The medical certificate contains a note by the Medical Practitioner concerned
                to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the
                candidate has already been rejected as unfit for appointment by a Medical
                Officer for appointment in CRPF.

        (b)     Medical re-examination fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees twenty five only) through
                IPO/Banker's Cheque/Demand Draft in the name of the Appellate Authority as
                mentioned above, is submitted alongwith the appeal.

        (c)    The appeal is submitted within 15 days from the date of issue of the
                communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated
                to the candidate.

STAGE-V :FINALSELECTION

Final selection of the candidate will be made in order of merit in each category, for respective
posts, on the basis of marks secured in the written test. The cut-off percentage of
marks for appointment will be as under:-
General and Ex-Servicemen        :         35 %
SC/ST/OBC                        :         33 %


9.     The candidates should produce following documents in ORIGINAL at the time of
recruitment :-

i)      Educational certificates.
ii)     Date of birth certificate. (Matriculation or 10th pass certificate)
iii)    SC/ST/OBC Certificate, if applicable. It should be on the proforma as prescribed in
        Annexure I & II respectively. Caste certificates which are not in prescribed
        proforma as in Annexure-I & II will not be accepted.
iv)     Candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras,
        Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal
        Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir
        and Leh & Ladakh region of J&K requesting for relaxation in height and chest should
        produce certificate in proforma prescribed in Annexure – III.
v)      Original Technical/Trade/Professional and experience certificates.
vi)     Discharge certificate in case of Ex-servicemen.
vii)    No Objection Certificate in case of persons serving in Govt./Semi-Govt. Departments
        from their Head of office. CRPF
viii)   Four passport size recent photographs of the candidates.
ix)     In addition to the original certificates, the candidates will also bring
        Xerox/photo-copy of educational, caste, CRPF technical/ trade and
        experience certificates duly attested by Gazetted officer.

10.     In case any candidate is found ineligible or suppressing facts on any ground at any
time, before, during or after his selection/appointment, his services will be terminated
without assigning any reason.


11. GENERALCONDITIONS :-

a)     Decision of the concerned recruitment board will be final.

b)     On appointment, candidates shall be governed by the CRPF Act and Rules as well as
       all such Govt. instructions/rules as applicable.

c)     Candidates will have to appear for selection/test at their own risk/expenses and no
       TA/DA will be admissible. They will also have to make their own arrangements for
       stay during recruitment which may continue for 20 to 30 days.

d)     Candidates are advised to practice for the race before coming for recruitment. They
       are further advised to get themselves medically examined regarding their suitability to
       run the specified distance in the given time. CRPF will not be responsible for any
       injury/mishap or medical problem during the course of recruitment process/test.

e)     Education Certificate, testimonials, documents in original are required at the time of
       recruitment. Candidates not producing original documents shall be rejected at the
       initial stage itself.

f)     Undergoing medical examination at the end of the recruitment process does not
       guarantee appointment as the offer of appointment will be made only according to
       allotted vacancies, for each categories in respective posts, from the merit list in the
       order of seniority of the candidates.

g)     The candidates selected for appointment shall be subjected to Chest X-Ray &
       Pathological test in the presence of a CRPF Medical Officer or in the presence of an
       authorised official, at their own cost.

h)     All the posts are combatised and are purely temporary but likely to continue. Selected
       candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India or outside India.

i)     Selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed training for specific period at any
       of the Training Centres of the Force.

j)     Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will automatically disqualify the
       candidate from appearing in tests without notice.

k)     All the candidates who wish to appear for enlistment are advised to go through the
       instructions carefully.

Note :-      Beware of Touts.      No money is charged for recruitment in CRPF. If
anyone demands money or promises recruitment inform the Presiding officer of
recruitment board immediately.

(ii) There is no restriction of domiciliary status for recruitment of above posts. The CRPF recruitment is on all India basis.
  • 2. (iii)No prior application is required to be submitted in this regard. Willing/eligible candidates should appear before the CRPF Recruitment Board at above centre according to their trades. (iv) Vacancies released/notified above may vary later on due to administrative reasons. (v) Vacancies reserved for Ex-Servicemen will be filled up by fresh candidates of respective categories, if suitable Ex-Servicemen do not turn up, as per the Ex-Servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Services and posts) Rules, 1979. 2. The Pay Scale for the above post(s) is Pay Band-1 Rs. 5200 – 20,200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2,000/-. 3. OtherAllowances:- As admissible to Central Govt. Employees from time to time under the rules. 4. Placeofduty :- Any where within as well as outside the Territory of India. 5. New contributory pension scheme to CRPF Central Govt. Employees which has come into effect from 01/01/2004 will be applicable to all selected candidates. 6. Eligibilityconditions forabovepostsare asunder:- A) Education Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Qualification Board / University. Technical i) For post of Constable(Fitter), candidates qualification must have passed Motor Vehicle Fitter Course (Automobiles)/Motor Mechanic Course from ITI or any other recognized institutions and should have one year experience. However, wards of CRPF personnel who have undergone training in ITIs run by CRPF are exempted from one year practical experience. ii) For post of CT(Bugler/ Tailor/ Mochi/ Carpenter/Gardener/ Painter/ Pipe Band/ Brass Band/ Cook/ Water Carrier/Safai Karmachari / Barber/ Washerman) candidates should be having good working knowledge of trade in which he/she wishes to be enlisted. iii) Candidates should qualify trade test at the time of recruitment process.

B) Age Between 18 to 23 Years as on 01/8/2010 Relaxation a) Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. b) The children and dependent family members of those who killed in the riots of 1984 would be eligible for CRPF relaxation in age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in (a) above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be attached with the application. c) Upper age limit upto 05 years is also relaxable for those persons who had originally been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period from 1st January,1980 to 31st December,1989. The persons claiming relaxation under this category should produce a certificate to the effect that they had been domiciled in the State of J & K during the period CRPF from 1st January,1980 to 31st December,1989 from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had originally resided or from any authority designated in this behalf by the Govt. of J & K. d) The children and dependent family members of those who killed in the riots of 2002 in Gujarat would be eligible for relaxation in age by 5 years. If the applicant belongs to SC/ST or OBC category, the relaxation so provided in this clause will CRPF be in addition to the age relaxation as applicable in (a) above. To obtain this relaxation a certificate from the concerned District Magistrate of the district where the victim was killed, should be produced at the time of recruitment.
  • 4. C) Physical Standards HEIGHT For Male candidates - 170 Cms. For Female Candidates - 157 Cms Relaxation i) Minimum Height of candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and CRPF candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh region of J&K will be for - Male candidates - 165 Cms. Female candidates - 155 Cms ii) The minimum height for all candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be for – Male candidates - 162.5 Cms. Female candidates - 150 Cms CHEST (only for male Un-expanded - 80 Cms (with minimum 5 Cms candidates) expansion) Relaxation i) Minimum chest of male candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, CRPF Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh region of J&K will be un- expanded - 78 Cms with minimum 5 Cms expansion. ii) The minimum chest for all male candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be un- expanded - 76 Cms with minimum 5 Cms expansion WEIGHT Proportionate/corresponding to height and age as per Medical standard. Note :- For getting relaxation in height and chest, candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, CRPF Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh region of J&K are required to submit prescribed certificate as per Annexure – III.

D) MEDICAL STANDARD a) Eye Sight :- i) The minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses. ii) Should be free from colour blindness. b) The candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defects likely to interfere with the efficiency performance of the duties. 7. ELIGIBILITYFORRE-EMPLOYMENTOFEX-SERVICEMAN The following relaxations are applicable in the matter for recruitment of Ex-servicemen in CRPF:- a) Physical standard : Total relaxation. b) Educational Qualification : Total relaxation. c) Character certificate : Minimum requirement will be “good” category. d) Medical Standard : Shape – I e) Relaxation of upper age limit : Relaxation to the extent of military service plus 3 years as provided in DOPT notification No. 3016/10/ 79–Estt-I dated 15/12/79. Break between Army service and date of re-employment in CRPF should not exceed 24 months. f) No Physical Efficiency Test will be held for Ex-servicemen at the time of their recruitment in CRPF. However, Ex-servicemen will be required to appear in written test, trade test & medical examination. 8. SELECTIONPROCESS No application is required to be submitted in this regard. The recruitment shall be on open rally system. Willing/eligible candidates should CRPF appear before the Recruitment Board on the dates prescribed above. Candidates will have to undergo the following test:-
  • 6. STAGE–I : PET/PST a) PHYSICALLYEFFICIENCYTEST At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to one mile race to be completed within 10 minutes. This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates who do not qualify the race, would be eliminated CRPF from the recruitment process by giving rejection slip intimating reasons thereof by the Presiding Officer. b) SCREENINGOFTESTIMONIALS Required original testimonials/documents of those candidates who qualify one mile race will be checked and only eligible candidates will be permitted to the next stage of recruitment. Candidates who fail to produce requisite testimonials/certificates will be eliminated from the recruitment process and in no case candidates will be allowed provisionally. c) PHYSICALMEASUREMENT (i) The candidates who are found eligible on screening of testimonials will be screened for height, chest and weight by the Board of Officers. The candidates who meet the requirements of physical standard will be allowed to participate in the written test. The CRPF candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical standards will be eliminated from recruitment process by giving rejection slip, thereof, by Presiding Officer. (ii) During the process of recruitment, if any candidate is not satisfied with measurement of his physical standard, he can appeal to the Presiding Officer of the Recruitment Board on the same day. The decision of the Presiding Officer will be final. STAGE–II :WRITTEN TEST The candidates who qualify in physical standard test will be required to appear in written test as per details below :- i) The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts, i.e., Part-I - Knowledge expected from a Class – 10 pass candidates and Part-II relating to knowledge of the Trade. ii) Questions in Part-I will consist of 50 objective type questions carrying 1 CRPF mark each to assess the following :- a) General awareness / general knowledge
  • 7. b) Knowledge of elementary mathematics c) Analytical aptitude. d) Ability to observe and distinguish patterns. e) Basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi. iii) Questions in Part-II will have both objective and descriptive type questions consisting of 50 marks, separately for each trade and candidate applied for a particular trade will be given question paper pertaining to that trade. iv) The questions CRPF will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the option to answer either in Hindi or English. v) Questions in Part-I & II are to be answered using a pen. Use of pencil will not be allowed. vi) The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours. vii) No representation for revaluation of written examination paper or re-conduct of written examination will be entertained. viii) Candidates should bring clip boards, pens for written examination. Candidates will not be allowed to carry or keep with them mobile phones, calculators or other electonic/ calculating devices during written examination. STAGE–III : TRADE TEST The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test which will be qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test, a candidate must secure 20 marks to qualify. Marks of Trade test will not be accounted while preparing merit list of selected candidates. During Trade test, a candidate will be asked to perform CRPF any activity pertaining to that particular trade for which he has appeared/applied. The parameters for each trade will be as under :- i) Bugler : Playing of Bugle. ii) Tailor : Taking measurement of persons, cutting / stitching of Terry Cotton uniform/Civil Clothes. Cutting / stitching of warm clothing/uniform. iii) Mochi : Having Knowledge of his Trade. Polishing of Shoes, handling of tools, cutting of leather, repair and stitching of shoes. Making of new shoes. iv) Carpenter : Handling tools, cutting of wood, fitting, polishing and finishing of materials, Knowledge CRPF of fitting of doors and windows / fixing of glass panes on windows. Able to make wooden boxes, racks and to make a timber truss.
  • 8. v) Painter :Knowledge of colours, paints, shades, painting of sign boards, painting and drawing/knowledge of spray painting of motor vehicle etc. Knowledge of colour scheme by mixing different paints/ distempering. Able to write letters neatly CRPF on banners and boards. Able to work out quantity of paints required for wood painting and CGI sheet vi) Gardener : painting. of Plantation, maintenance of plants, Knowledge of seeds Knowledge and their seasons, fertilizer and manures. vii) Brass Band : Knowledge of playing Brass Band instruments. viii) Pipe Band : Knowledge of playing Pipe Band instruments. ix) Fitter : Knowledge of his Trade. Handling of tools, minor / major repairing of vehicles x) Cook : Cooking of Chapati & Rice / Vegetable / Dal / Sambhar / Idli etc. for 100 men, cooking of Meat / Fish /Egg/ Kheer. xi) Water Carrier :: Washing of utensil, kneading of Atta for making chapattis for about 100 men and cutting of vegetable etc. xii) Safai : Sweeping of floors, open area and cleaning of toilets, bathrooms etc. Karmachari xiii) Barber : Handling of tools, hair cutting and shaving. xiv) Washerman : Washing of clothes, Ironing of Khaki cotton Uniform, woolen and TC Uniform. STATE–IV : MEDICALEXAMINATION i. The candidates qualified in trade test and secured merit (as per written examination marks) will be medically examined to access their physical and medical fitness as prescribed in the eligibility condition. During medical examination, “Temporary unfitness” will not be allowed. Note :- The number of candidates to be medically examined will be equal to the number of vacancies increased by average failure rate during medical examination determined on the basis of past experience/ recruitment. Appeal against Medical Examination :- (i) If a candidate is declared unfit for appointment in CRPF during Medical Examination, grounds for rejection will be communicated to him/her in broad terms by the Medical Officer duly countersigned by the Presiding Officer. The candidates, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for review medical examination with a proof of his/her fitness in the form of a medical certificate as given in Annexure-IV, to the DIGP, Group Centre, CRPF, Yelahanka, Bangalore, Karnataka- 560 064 from a Medical Practioner. (ii) The appeal will not be taken into consideration unless:-

(a) The medical certificate contains a note by the Medical Practitioner concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit for appointment by a Medical Officer for appointment in CRPF. (b) Medical re-examination fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees twenty five only) through IPO/Banker's Cheque/Demand Draft in the name of the Appellate Authority as mentioned above, is submitted alongwith the appeal. (c) The appeal is submitted within 15 days from the date of issue of the communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer are communicated to the candidate. STAGE-V :FINALSELECTION Final selection of the candidate will be made in order of merit in each category, for respective posts, on the basis of marks secured in the written test. The cut-off percentage of marks for appointment will be as under:- General and Ex-Servicemen : 35 % SC/ST/OBC : 33 % 9. The candidates should produce following documents in ORIGINAL at the time of recruitment :- i) Educational certificates. ii) Date of birth certificate. (Matriculation or 10th pass certificate) iii) SC/ST/OBC Certificate, if applicable. It should be on the proforma as prescribed in Annexure I & II respectively. Caste certificates which are not in prescribed proforma as in Annexure-I & II will not be accepted. iv) Candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh region of J&K requesting for relaxation in height and chest should produce certificate in proforma prescribed in Annexure – III. v) Original Technical/Trade/Professional and experience certificates. vi) Discharge certificate in case of Ex-servicemen. vii) No Objection Certificate in case of persons serving in Govt./Semi-Govt. Departments from their Head of office. CRPF viii) Four passport size recent photographs of the candidates. ix) In addition to the original certificates, the candidates will also bring Xerox/photo-copy of educational, caste, CRPF technical/ trade and experience certificates duly attested by Gazetted officer. 10. In case any candidate is found ineligible or suppressing facts on any ground at any
  • 10. time, before, during or after his selection/appointment, his services will be terminated without assigning any reason. 11. GENERALCONDITIONS :- a) Decision of the concerned recruitment board will be final. b) On appointment, candidates shall be governed by the CRPF Act and Rules as well as all such Govt. instructions/rules as applicable. c) Candidates will have to appear for selection/test at their own risk/expenses and no TA/DA will be admissible. They will also have to make their own arrangements for stay during recruitment which may continue for 20 to 30 days. d) Candidates are advised to practice for the race before coming for recruitment. They are further advised to get themselves medically examined regarding their suitability to run the specified distance in the given time. CRPF will not be responsible for any injury/mishap or medical problem during the course of recruitment process/test. e) Education Certificate, testimonials, documents in original are required at the time of recruitment. Candidates not producing original documents shall be rejected at the initial stage itself. f) Undergoing medical examination at the end of the recruitment process does not guarantee appointment as the offer of appointment will be made only according to allotted vacancies, for each categories in respective posts, from the merit list in the order of seniority of the candidates. g) The candidates selected for appointment shall be subjected to Chest X-Ray & Pathological test in the presence of a CRPF Medical Officer or in the presence of an authorised official, at their own cost. h) All the posts are combatised and are purely temporary but likely to continue. Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India or outside India. i) Selected candidates will have to undergo prescribed training for specific period at any of the Training Centres of the Force. j) Canvassing in any form or bringing outside influence will automatically disqualify the candidate from appearing in tests without notice. k) All the candidates who wish to appear for enlistment are advised to go through the instructions carefully.
