2. BACHATA; THE ORIGIN
The music and dance of Bachata originated in 1960 in the
Dominican Republic. The word meaning party or social
meeting. It is a form of popular guitar music. There are
influences of all type of music in Bachata, especially merengue.
The first recognized bachata was recorded by José Manuel
Calderón. The first bachata songs created were covers bolero
songs and became popular amongst lovers and serenades.
3. AVENTURA
Aventura is one of the most unique artists on the scene
today. There music is mixed with R&B and Hip Hop but at the
same time having the original sounds of the traditional bachata.
Aventura have been all over the world from the United States to
Europe, Mexico, Peru every where around the world. There
music has been a sensation and the years it has been more
poplulare than ever before. All the members of Aventura are
from the Dominican Republic and were raised in New York.
4. FRANK REYES
Frank Reyes is one of the best known bachata artists through
out Latin America. He was born Francisco López Reyes in the
Dominican Republic, in the year 1969. He realized at a young
age that he had a talent of singing and traveled to the country's
capital, Santo Domingo, to explore it. He released his first
album in 1991 tilted Tu serás mi reina. His singing skills made
him the "prince of bachata".
5. PRINCE ROYCE
Born Geoffrey Royce Rojas in New York City on May 11, 1989.
He is 22 years and debuted in 2010 with his hits "Stand By Me"
and "Corazón Sin Cara". He grew up in the borough of The
Bronx, where as a child he enjoyed competing in talent shows
and participating in the school's choir. At a young age he wrote
poetry which quickly turned in to songwriting. Today Prince
Royce is highly popular amongst teen-aged girls, for his
beautiful voice and charming looks.
