This is a tutorial on how to use Smore.com and SoundCloud.com to create a multimedia on-line poster advertisement. My EFL/ ESL students had to create a travel advertisement using these websites

1. Sign up for your FREE Smore account.

2. Provide your email, name and choose a password.

3. Click on ‘ Start a New Flyer’

4. Click on ‘Class’

5. Choose a Title and Subtitle for your Travel Advertisement.

6. When you have chosen a good Title and Subtitle, click ‘ Done’

7. When you are ready to add more information about your country, click
‘Edit’ and just start typing over these areas.
Make sure you click ‘ Save’ whenever you make changes to your ad.

8. If you want to change the color, click on the ‘Colors’ button, and click ‘ Save’

9. Now, we are ready to add pictures to your ad.

10. ‘Google’ your country, and choose ‘Advanced Search ‘
for Copyright Free images.

11. Click on ‘free to use or share’ for Copyright free images.

12. You can either Drag pictures onto your Smore page, or open a
File on your desktop, where you previously saved your pictures.

13. Now, we are ready to add your voice recording describing your country.

14. Click on the Music button, and you will see we need
a FREE SoundCloud account.

15. Enter this information to create your FREE SoundCloud account.

16. Click the ’Upload’ button and then , click the ‘Start New
Recording’ button.

17. Click the red ‘Rec’ button to start recording.

18. Click on the bubble next to the green checkmark to Allow
SoundCloud access to your microphone.

19. Press the White Square button to Stop your recording.

20. Press the ‘arrow’ button to hear your recording and then the ‘Upload
Your Recording’ button if you are happy with your recording.

21. Give your recording a Title and make sure you click the ‘
Save’ button

22. Next, click the ‘ Share’ button to get a link to your recording.

23. Right click on your mouse,
and click ’Copy’ to copy
the link to your recording.

25. Go back to the Smore website and click on the red ‘Music’ button.

26. Right click on your mouse, and click’ Paste’ . Then click the ‘ Embed’ button.

27. Your recording should now be on your Smore
advertisement page ! Double check your spelling and
grammar on your Smore page and you are Done !
