So today, I’m here to talk to you about some of the great stuff that we’re doing to improve BSU’s sustainability.We’re doing all sorts of great stuff with waste reduction and recycling, sustainable food and such but today, I’m going to focus on energy. Mostly because there’s lots of numbers involved and Mark McGuinness tells me he wants numbers so you can be tested to make sure you’re listening but also because our use of energy is a key issue that underlies much of what sustainability is about and is at the route of one of sustainability’s biggest issues….Climate change.So, to make sure we’re all on the same page with the climate change thing, I’m going to do a whistle stop tour of the link between energy and climate change and why energy matters.But first off, before we get bogged down in that, we’re going to pop off to ancient Greece to ask our old mate Aristotle what’s it all about and then we’re going to have a look at a model business that shows us the way forward.From there, I’d like to introduce to you, one of my heroes who has shown us the way forward – Ray Anderson.We’ll talk about Interface, Mission Zero and Mount Sustainability.And that, in some awfully tenuous way will lead us on to what we’re doing here to reach the summit of our own Mount Sustainability
