Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their
purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say
what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge
students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many
cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released"
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered.
Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the
Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell
teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms
also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people
believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others
believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the
country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states
should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Persuasive Essay About Education
Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate
from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more
employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive
than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to
72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it
is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of
civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and
acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other
important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the
curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging
yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these
skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a
class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in
numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of
our society.
Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from

Persuasive Essay On High School Games
It is obvious that this game was out of control before this fight broke out. According to Murphy,
(2013) the two teams combined for a total of 20 penalties. I am not sure how many of these were
personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties but based on the postgame fight it seems that the
coaches and referees struggled to maintain control of the game.
The two teams remained separate after the game instead of shaking hands. It is custom in high school
football, and football at all levels, to shake the hand of your opponent. In the video, it is obvious that
the teams were told not to shake hands. Instead, the white team stands on the logo in the middle of
the field. The black team is heading toward the locker room when the fight breaks out.
Finally, the presence of police on the field suggests that tensions were high by the end of the game.
There are often police at high school football games but there were at least six officers on the field.
Maybe high school games have a higher police presence than I am used to in Illinois, but the number
of uniformed officers on the field suggests that this wasn't the first time that a football game between
these two teams escalated beyond normal physical football.
An athletic director would have a lot to sort out after an altercation like this. Besides the two
coaches fighting, there are many situations that need to be addressed in the video. First, a player
from the white team spears a player from the black team. This happens just above the

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an
accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment.

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

Persuasive Essay On After School Programs
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs
help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are
organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling
children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would
not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs
provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their
future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based
nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on
weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of
the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities.
Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of
academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and
children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When
after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and
skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take

Persuasive Essay On Stress And Anxiety
As the school year winds down, as college decisions, scholarship deadlines, and finals approach,
this can be one of the worst seasons for stress and anxiety. When we were on the phone last week
discussing college plans, I recall you saying that you had a hectic schedule and have been stressed
out and anxious lately, and were struggling to find some way to relax that was still productive and
fulfilling. With such a busy schedule, I also understand that it can be challenging to find time to
dedicate to a hobby. As your cousin, I would like to propose that you take up a creative hobby of
some sort, which doesn't have to occupy much time and can be incredibly gratifying.

According to Jacque Wilson's article "This is your brain on crafting," Sarah Huerta, who after her
brother's sudden death, couldn't even leave her house without suffering a panic attack. Her husband
gave her knitting needles, and soon, the hours began to melt away for Huerta, who found that
knitting keep her mind busy and prevented her from thinking about the future. In the same article, it
was also mentioned that creative activities such as painting, sewing, photography, and even cake
decorating influence the brain in a way similar to meditation, acting as a natural anti–depressant and
stress reliever (Wilson). I can also relate to the benefit from having a creative hobby. For the
longest time, I didn't have a hobby that I felt was creative and relaxing, however, at the beginning
of the school year, I began taking a photography course. While I am taking photos, I have noticed
that I do not feel the same pressures or stress I would be feeling if I were say, sitting at home
watching television. As your cousin, I know you often feel frustrated not having anything to do that
seems fulfilling and constructive, and a creative hobby could be the thing that is

The average teenager gets about seven to seven and a half hours of sleep, however, They need
between nine to nine and a half hours of sleep. High school should start later because they can
improve performance in school work and increase the physical health of the student. Rest is one of
the most needed things a body needs. Without it, it causes lack of alertness which not only applies
to school but if a student drives to school they mostly likely have to wake up early in the morning
and this dangers the student's life in many ways because they are not aware of the things around
them such as Traffic signs and People. "When teens drive while they are drowsy, they have slowed
reaction times and have a hard time paying attention to the road."

Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools
Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools
believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter
schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education.
It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly.
(NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in
hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to
innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn.
Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student
learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than
having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other
pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a
classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time
one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in
motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time
to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In
addition, according to EF Academy's "10

Stay in School, Persuasive Essay
To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a
good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary
school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is
everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first
20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science,
but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you

To become trustworthy, you have to work your way up to become trusted by your classmates and
/or close friends. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy.
But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can
tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs
require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing
money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able
to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible
character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important
because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It
will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't
get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the
choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you
are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college.
For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the
medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology

Persuasive Essay Questions In School
It doesn't matter if we are ready to answer the questions our young ladies have, they will keep
coming. Relying on schools to teach our children everything they need to know about their
bodies, peer pressure, bullying, and sex is just not realistic. While some things may be discussed
in school, not everything is. Furthermore, children are typically uncomfortable when it comes to
asking personal questions in front of their peers. Gossip and rumors will be the biggest enemy
you will battle during the school years. There is no secret way to stop this from occurring, and
often girls are much meaner than boys when it comes to "flaws". Aside from classmates'
developments, advertisements everywhere will have our children questioning what is happening,
or perhaps not happening, to their bodies. It is your job as the caregiver to help sort out all these
confusing matters. The beginning of puberty in females can start as early as eight years old. Yes,

Persuasive Essay On The Education System
Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get
a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what
turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But
that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore,
students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every
educational institution.
Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it
puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of
schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to
succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well
educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to
educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the
current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement
through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and
standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also
be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning.

Persuasive Essay On High School Sports
High School sports have an enormous impact on athletes lives. Many benefits are received both on
and off the field. Such activities increase health, academic and social performances, along with
teaching life lessons and skills, human interaction skills and much more. There is also a direct
relationship between sports and academic participation and success. Through high school sports, the
athlete also develops unbreakable bonds with teammates the would be impossible to acquire
without all of the sacrifices teammates endure together. However, some people are against high
school sports. One of the biggest downfall to sport participation is the risk. Depending on the sport,
there is a high chance of injury that follows, even with the possibility of serious injury. The Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated an annual 135,000 traumatic brain injuries
among people ages 5–18 (Sarmiento, Kelly). Another argument against sports is time. Sports take
up a great deal of time and dedication, which makes it difficult to carry out other responsibilities
such as a job. Juggling between sports and school, along with any other activities, can make a
student struggle to keep up with everything going on in his or her life. Injuries are among one of
the top scares when it comes to high school sports. There has been many attempts to prevent these
almost inevitable injuries, but almost all of them come up short. However, these attempts have
still raised awareness and improved equipment which have resulted in a lower risk. For example,
the CDC responded to their study by passing the Children's Health Act of 2000. The act was
launched in September 2005 and was based around the "Heads Up: Concussion in High School
Sports" educational kit. In the first 3 months there were 20,000 kits distributed to help coach spread
awareness, teach other, and to recognize/ prevent concussions (Sarmiento, Kelly). Isaac Sellers, a
former high school football player, stated, "For the fact that brotherhood is developed through all
the pain in suffering put in the offseason makes everything worth it, no matter the outcome. Despite
having a concussion I continued to play because there will always be a risk of injury in everyday

American high schools are bound to have plenty of sports for all students to play. So why not
pick a sport to play in high school? The reader will learn the many reasons why playing sports is a
vital part in a student's life. Highschool sports will allow students to become better educated and
get higher grades. By playing sports, students will be able to make more friends and enjoy school
more. Lastly, if students were to be able to get a sports scholarship for college, their parents will only
have to pay little to no money. High school sports are good for students because they can get a better
education, make more friends, and have a better chance at getting into a good college. High school
sports are good for students because they can get a better education. Playing sports helps students
get a better education because when they are focused on sports, they also become focused on
their school work. According to the video Sports How Much is Too Much, "playing multiple

distraction, but a way to get better grades in school. While students are playing high school sports,

Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips!
Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse
learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive
learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to
plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of
Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed
school environment. These day–long excursions are capable of enhancing interactive means of
learning; they "add new dimensions to education through "teachable moments" that seldom occur in
the classroom" according to...show more content...
Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly
retain organized, clear information. Planning these fixed field trips will engage students by peaking
their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience.
Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to
visit. This museum, is located in New York Cityroughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High
School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15
students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two
teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the school ready to depart by 8:10 in the
morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission
slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves.
Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may
eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for
lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and
teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time

Persuasive Essay On STEM Education
Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start
preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them.
This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in
middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with
extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression,
problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn
how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is
clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression.
There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact
the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school
subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical
way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that
world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking
about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of
school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been
other fields in history that became very popular but

Persuasive Essay On Inclusive Education
Gretchen Walsh, a special education professional with a masters in education stated, "Inclusion is
important because through our diversity we certainly add to our creativity. If you don't have a
diverse classroom or a diverse world, you don't have the same creative levels and I think our
strength lies in our diversity" (What is inclusion?). Inclusion is the integration of students with
disabilities into a general education classroom receiving accommodations and services necessary for
their specific needs. Inclusion is beneficial for all students because diversity is critical and results in
better academic outcomes and social connections (Willis, J.). Inclusion varies by extent of assistance
needed and it provides students with disabilities the opportunity to learn beside a diverse range of
students. Overall, inclusive education is a current implementation in schools and has been proven to
positively impact students' lives.
Classes today are more diverse than ever and students with learning disabilities contribute to this. It
is important to recognize the great modification in the past two decades that has led to the growth of
inclusive education. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act commenced in 1997 and
requires that all public schools in America offer a free education to students with disabilities in the
least restrictive environment, and this federal law is responsible for the application of inclusive
education. It also requires the creation of individualized

Persuasive Essay On Online Classes
Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible
schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took
three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose
scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for
procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me,
being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the
class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a
god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would
ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on
the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed
home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself:
I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle
of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of
junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school
year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind
out these two semesters

Persuasive Essay On Higher Education
Higher education is the greatest tool that can benefit a society, granted that universities can bring a
sense of personal accomplishment and general knowledge. It is the Federal government's job to
reflect on other educational systems, for instance Germany's higher education, and create an
intuition that profits the public good and establishes a structured strategy that ensures college
students are economically viable. For example, the University of California exploded when the Board
of Regents approved a "32 percent tuition increases for the 2010 academic year, a vote that would
raise the UC tuition to over $10,000 a year" (Selingo). Higher education should not be a risky future
investment; it should be designed to help the general public and now obtaining a four–year diploma
has become an essential way a person displays their preparedness for high demanding jobs. In
addition, diplomas have become less available to the public due to the economic downturn,
defunding of the public education systems, and increasing tuition rates. It is time to create a strategy
that assists the public education system and that serves the common well–being. Therefore, it is the
federal government's duty to reflect on Germany's educational methods that favor the public good
and promote a change in the broken institutions by allowing free online universities and community
colleges to offer four–year degrees.
As a result of the recession in 2008, states have reduced public funding for

Educational Reforms Need Improvement

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released" (Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered. Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational reforms are yet to be perfected. One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Essay About Education Education is something that most can receive for free at a young age, but once students graduate from high school, free education is no longer provided to those who desire and need it, yet more employers are looking for those with college education, and even worse, college is more expensive than ever. This year, "only 34% of American jobs require ahigh school diploma or less, compared to 72% in the 1970s." (Carnevale & Smith, 2017) Education is a right that everyone should have, and it is that way until after high school, when it matters the most. Education also supports the growth of civil society, democracy, and political stability, allowing people to learn about their rights and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to exercise them. However, these things along with other important information that comes into adulthood such as taxes are not even being taught in the curriculum of high schools and therefore not preparing the students for some of the most challenging yet ordinary tasks they will have to deal with in their adult lives. Instead, they must either learn these skills themselves, from someone they know, or be among the few who are fortunate enough to get a class with a teacher kind enough to teach them. The American education system is failing in numerous areas, causing us to fall behind other countries, and further delaying the advancement of our society. Education should assist in giving people the skills they will need in life earlier to help them from Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Essay On High School Games It is obvious that this game was out of control before this fight broke out. According to Murphy, (2013) the two teams combined for a total of 20 penalties. I am not sure how many of these were personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties but based on the postgame fight it seems that the coaches and referees struggled to maintain control of the game. The two teams remained separate after the game instead of shaking hands. It is custom in high school football, and football at all levels, to shake the hand of your opponent. In the video, it is obvious that the teams were told not to shake hands. Instead, the white team stands on the logo in the middle of the field. The black team is heading toward the locker room when the fight breaks out. Finally, the presence of police on the field suggests that tensions were high by the end of the game. There are often police at high school football games but there were at least six officers on the field. Maybe high school games have a higher police presence than I am used to in Illinois, but the number of uniformed officers on the field suggests that this wasn't the first time that a football game between these two teams escalated beyond normal physical football. An athletic director would have a lot to sort out after an altercation like this. Besides the two coaches fighting, there are many situations that need to be addressed in the video. First, a player from the white team spears a player from the black team. This happens just above the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an accessible, inclusive and resource rich learning environment. Access Access to a reliable, equitable and high–quality education can has a lasting positive effect on...show more content... Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 5. Persuasive Essay On After School Programs After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities. Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take care of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Stress And Anxiety As the school year winds down, as college decisions, scholarship deadlines, and finals approach, this can be one of the worst seasons for stress and anxiety. When we were on the phone last week discussing college plans, I recall you saying that you had a hectic schedule and have been stressed out and anxious lately, and were struggling to find some way to relax that was still productive and fulfilling. With such a busy schedule, I also understand that it can be challenging to find time to dedicate to a hobby. As your cousin, I would like to propose that you take up a creative hobby of some sort, which doesn't have to occupy much time and can be incredibly gratifying. Anxiety and stress are massive issues for today's teenagers and can be potentially...show more content... According to Jacque Wilson's article "This is your brain on crafting," Sarah Huerta, who after her brother's sudden death, couldn't even leave her house without suffering a panic attack. Her husband gave her knitting needles, and soon, the hours began to melt away for Huerta, who found that knitting keep her mind busy and prevented her from thinking about the future. In the same article, it was also mentioned that creative activities such as painting, sewing, photography, and even cake decorating influence the brain in a way similar to meditation, acting as a natural anti–depressant and stress reliever (Wilson). I can also relate to the benefit from having a creative hobby. For the longest time, I didn't have a hobby that I felt was creative and relaxing, however, at the beginning of the school year, I began taking a photography course. While I am taking photos, I have noticed that I do not feel the same pressures or stress I would be feeling if I were say, sitting at home watching television. As your cousin, I know you often feel frustrated not having anything to do that seems fulfilling and constructive, and a creative hobby could be the thing that is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The average teenager gets about seven to seven and a half hours of sleep, however, They need between nine to nine and a half hours of sleep. High school should start later because they can improve performance in school work and increase the physical health of the student. Rest is one of the most needed things a body needs. Without it, it causes lack of alertness which not only applies to school but if a student drives to school they mostly likely have to wake up early in the morning and this dangers the student's life in many ways because they are not aware of the things around them such as Traffic signs and People. "When teens drive while they are drowsy, they have slowed reaction times and have a hard time paying attention to the road." Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Charter Schools Open to all children, free of tuition, and does not have special entrance requirements, charter schools believe that children should have the opportunity to achieve at a high level. When creating charter schools, they focused on a desire to create greater flexibility for innovation within public education. It was hoped that successful innovations could be adapted to benefit public education more broadly. (NEA, 2017). Charter schools also, foster partnership between parents, teachers, and students in hopes of creating an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are allowed to innovate, and students are provided with structure they need to learn. Unlike public schools, charter schools believe that smaller class sizes are important to student learning. According to Homeschooling "Pros and Cons of Charter Schools" article, "Rather than having a student attend a public school where students will be one among thirty to thirty–five other pupils, charter school students will be one of twelve, sometimes fifteen other students" (2017). In a classroom with many students, a teacher may not have the ability to spend sufficient quality time one–on–one with every student . This may result in teachers having more of a challenge in motivating each student and encouraging students individually. The teacher may not have the time to recognize each student's particular challenges, passions, and talents (Homeschooling, 2017 ). In addition, according to EF Academy's "10 Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Stay in School, Persuasive Essay To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don't go to school at all, you'll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20–25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. If you are good at keeping secrets, that's one way to know you are trustworthy. But this does not show your employer that you are trustworthy. It's just something that you can tell your employer to show something about yourself that you are trustworthy. Also, some jobs require resumes in their applications. If you have been fired in a previous job because of stealing money or just being lazy, other jobs your try to apply for will be hard because they won't be able to trust you. That's why staying at a good school will help you build the trustworthy, responsible character you'll need to find a job you love. Loving what you do is something really important because it is something you have to go through until you retire when you're around 65 years old. It will really be hard to work in a job for over 30 years if you don't enjoy it. For example, if you don't get paid as much as you want and you also don't enjoy what you do, it could be because of the choices you made in school. If you want what's best for yourself that you know you love and you are good at, you should take advantage of the education you have before you graduate college. For example, if you know you are good at biology, and you think it is interesting, going towards the medical field and being a doctor might be the best option for you. If you are good and love biology but you Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Studies have shown that if school started later in the day, then students will have higher performance rates. To help students health and performance, school should start later in the morning. If school started later it would reduce dropout rates, give students time to eat healthy breakfasts, and improve moods. Later start times reduced tardiness, and truancy. For example, since students have to wake up at such an early time, a study showed that, " Starting the school day at a later time improved school attendance. • 12. Persuasive Essay Questions In School It doesn't matter if we are ready to answer the questions our young ladies have, they will keep coming. Relying on schools to teach our children everything they need to know about their bodies, peer pressure, bullying, and sex is just not realistic. While some things may be discussed in school, not everything is. Furthermore, children are typically uncomfortable when it comes to asking personal questions in front of their peers. Gossip and rumors will be the biggest enemy you will battle during the school years. There is no secret way to stop this from occurring, and often girls are much meaner than boys when it comes to "flaws". Aside from classmates' developments, advertisements everywhere will have our children questioning what is happening, or perhaps not happening, to their bodies. It is your job as the caregiver to help sort out all these confusing matters. The beginning of puberty in females can start as early as eight years old. Yes, you read that correct, eight years old. Parents are allowing their daughters to wear training bras this young, and it is hard to swallow. You might be wondering why they would need a bra so early? They can't possibly have anything to contain yet, can they? Well, unfortunately the answer is yes. Your daughter may begin to blossom, and taking her to get her first training bra is a special time. Alternatively, there is nothing wrong with opting for a sports bra, or even a camisole for underneath the young lady's shirt. Keep in mind, the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On The Education System Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution. Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning. • 15. Persuasive Essay On High School Sports High School sports have an enormous impact on athletes lives. Many benefits are received both on and off the field. Such activities increase health, academic and social performances, along with teaching life lessons and skills, human interaction skills and much more. There is also a direct relationship between sports and academic participation and success. Through high school sports, the athlete also develops unbreakable bonds with teammates the would be impossible to acquire without all of the sacrifices teammates endure together. However, some people are against high school sports. One of the biggest downfall to sport participation is the risk. Depending on the sport, there is a high chance of injury that follows, even with the possibility of serious injury. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated an annual 135,000 traumatic brain injuries among people ages 5–18 (Sarmiento, Kelly). Another argument against sports is time. Sports take up a great deal of time and dedication, which makes it difficult to carry out other responsibilities such as a job. Juggling between sports and school, along with any other activities, can make a student struggle to keep up with everything going on in his or her life. Injuries are among one of the top scares when it comes to high school sports. There has been many attempts to prevent these almost inevitable injuries, but almost all of them come up short. However, these attempts have still raised awareness and improved equipment which have resulted in a lower risk. For example, the CDC responded to their study by passing the Children's Health Act of 2000. The act was launched in September 2005 and was based around the "Heads Up: Concussion in High School Sports" educational kit. In the first 3 months there were 20,000 kits distributed to help coach spread awareness, teach other, and to recognize/ prevent concussions (Sarmiento, Kelly). Isaac Sellers, a former high school football player, stated, "For the fact that brotherhood is developed through all the pain in suffering put in the offseason makes everything worth it, no matter the outcome. Despite having a concussion I continued to play because there will always be a risk of injury in everyday Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Persuasive Essay About School Trip Effective and Fun Means of Learning: Field Trips! Sometimes a classroom can't teach everything. To change things up, day trips allow for a diverse learning experience for students. School field trips are an effective means of fun, interactive learning; the MET museum as well as the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey are two ideal trips to plan following Pascack Hills High School's tenth grade English curriculum and reading of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Field trips are a refreshing and potent change of pace from an enclosed school environment. These day–long excursions are capable of enhancing interactive means of learning; they "add new dimensions to education through "teachable moments" that seldom occur in the classroom" according to...show more content... Having a trip focus on a specific subject/unit only adds to a students focus and ability to properly retain organized, clear information. Planning these fixed field trips will engage students by peaking their own interests and thus providing a more productive learning experience. Amongst many locations for a field trip, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most ideal to visit. This museum, is located in New York Cityroughly 40 minutes from Pascack Hills High School. Ms. Donahue, an English teacher at the school, has three small classes with about 15 students per class; this trip would accommodate for these students with an addition one to two teachers. Those attending would be expected to be at the school ready to depart by 8:10 in the morning. After arriving and checking in (all students must pay $20 in the form of a permission slip to their teachers prior to the trip), students are free to wander the museum by themselves. Around 12, students will be advised to meet at the building's cafeteria for lunch, though they may eat at any time. Bagged lunches will not be an option and all attendees must bring at least $20 for lunch; they may also bring additional money for the gift shop if desired. By 1:15, all students and teachers will meet in a planned location and be prepared to go back to the school. With any extra time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Persuasive Essay On STEM Education Everyone wants what is best for their children, right? If that is true, then schools need to start preparing their students for the challenges they will meet in college and the skills to overcome them. This is best done through the presence of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in middle and high schools. Through Wisconsin schools furthering their focus on STEM with extracurriculars, students will gain vital skills that are necessary for human progression, problem–solving and time management skills that can be used in real life, and the students learn how they can apply what is being taught in the classroom to real obstacles and challenges. It is clear that STEM is a rapidly growing and advancing field that is needed for our human progression. There are so many different professions that fall under STEM education and many of them impact the world every day. According to former PresidentBarack Obama "[Science] is more than a school subject, or the periodic table, or the properties of waves. It is an approach to the world, a critical way to understand and explore and engage with the world, and then have the capacity to change that world" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Here, former President Obama is talking about how important science is as more than just a school subject; science can be taken out of school and used to impact many people and change the world. Some may say that there have been other fields in history that became very popular but Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Inclusive Education Gretchen Walsh, a special education professional with a masters in education stated, "Inclusion is important because through our diversity we certainly add to our creativity. If you don't have a diverse classroom or a diverse world, you don't have the same creative levels and I think our strength lies in our diversity" (What is inclusion?). Inclusion is the integration of students with disabilities into a general education classroom receiving accommodations and services necessary for their specific needs. Inclusion is beneficial for all students because diversity is critical and results in better academic outcomes and social connections (Willis, J.). Inclusion varies by extent of assistance needed and it provides students with disabilities the opportunity to learn beside a diverse range of students. Overall, inclusive education is a current implementation in schools and has been proven to positively impact students' lives. Classes today are more diverse than ever and students with learning disabilities contribute to this. It is important to recognize the great modification in the past two decades that has led to the growth of inclusive education. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act commenced in 1997 and requires that all public schools in America offer a free education to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, and this federal law is responsible for the application of inclusive education. It also requires the creation of individualized Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind out these two semesters Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Persuasive Essay On Higher Education Higher education is the greatest tool that can benefit a society, granted that universities can bring a sense of personal accomplishment and general knowledge. It is the Federal government's job to reflect on other educational systems, for instance Germany's higher education, and create an intuition that profits the public good and establishes a structured strategy that ensures college students are economically viable. For example, the University of California exploded when the Board of Regents approved a "32 percent tuition increases for the 2010 academic year, a vote that would raise the UC tuition to over $10,000 a year" (Selingo). Higher education should not be a risky future investment; it should be designed to help the general public and now obtaining a four–year diploma has become an essential way a person displays their preparedness for high demanding jobs. In addition, diplomas have become less available to the public due to the economic downturn, defunding of the public education systems, and increasing tuition rates. It is time to create a strategy that assists the public education system and that serves the common well–being. Therefore, it is the federal government's duty to reflect on Germany's educational methods that favor the public good and promote a change in the broken institutions by allowing free online universities and community colleges to offer four–year degrees. As a result of the recession in 2008, states have reduced public funding for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
