ENGLISH
BRITISH ENGLISH
British English we called, the form of English language, that is

commonly accepted for the different nationalities, populating
the British Isles. Most systems for studying English in Bulgaria

are based on British English, although actually teach Standard
English and also include the most famous Americanisms.
AMERICAN ENGLISH
American English is the form, known in Bulgaria principally
from the Hollywood movies, the American series and famous
pop and rock performers. The form has typical nose-mouth
pronouncing to many of the sounds in the language and typical
extension to some of the vowels. The interesting for this form
of English language is that it sounds “more tough” for the fans
of the American culture, and for the fans of “Traditional” British
English they reject it with – “Nothing I don’t understand to the
Americans”.
• Except British and American English, there are more and

different religious forms, typical for the different parts of the
world – Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, South African and

others. Many ex British colonies use English like second official
language – India, Malta, Fiji and others.
• The differences in listed above forms are not big and they are

from such character, that they don’t interfere to
communication between the representatives of these nations,
like and for the good command of English foreigners. The
most essential differences are in the pronunciation, less
differences are in the vocabulary, and the least are the

grammar differences between these forms of English
language.
• The most advanced people will find essential differences in the

idioms and in the phrasal verbs, like and in the very specific
terms and clichés.
