Notas do Editor

  • (sales, assisted customers in the SMB, EDU space)
  • Jeff Bezos really took Amazon from an online bookstore back in 94 to many new markets that made business sense to get into.

    TAM, SAM, SOM -> PMFit

    M&A

Product Manager really knows the product in and out and is able to communicate its unique value proposition. Knows the competitive landscape and knows when to launch, whether to launch and whom does it target?

    Business books:
  • Every release must have customer value
    Living Breathing Doc
    Alings with all goals
Reflects where the product is going
Not only ABC, its the ladder to where you need to get to
  • Everybody in the company has ideas…. Why did we do this? That other ideas.. Suggestions!
PM cannot do everything! Most important skills of a PM -> Say no
If anything they only have the power of saying no. - priority
  • Conflict management - Don’t take things personally. Having thick skin! Creating win-win situations. Focusing on shared goals.
The flip side -> i look at it as an opportunity to interface and partner with a lot of people for the greater good of the product and customers itself.

Crisis management - Quick thinking on the feet. Creative ideas.
It is really exciting to deal with different kinds of challenges to which there is no one straight answer to.
Aligns with company’s strategic goals. Or it doesnt,

Change management - juggling with multiple priority things. Being ok with unexpected changes at any time any day. Things are not usually all stable and well defined in the PM land.
I am never working on the same small piece for too long. Its not like you are stuck doing the same thing over and over again for too long, because, change management really gives you a chance to keep up with the changing world around you. It is more of a reality check that happens along the way.
